Astrology through Mid-May

Very Brief Astrological Report through May 15

Mercury is retrograde, and my first thought is that life could be easier. Fortunately, the aspects only continue through May 12, and there’s also a magical aspect to the retrograde.

The point of Mercury’s retrograde falls on the point of earth magic. Taurus rules the throat and has a lot to do with finding out what we really want to say and learning how to say it, not just say it. It’s about communication, but because Venus rules Taurus it’s also about the beauty of the energies of our lower chakras when we are connected to nature and the beauty of creating on earth when we speak our truth.

The Clunky Dancers
Mercury (communications) is square Mars (passion, activity and movement into life) through the end of the week, but we’re likely to feel it for a few more days. It’s like two people trying to dance but never catching the other person’s rhythm. Our clumsy dancers bump into other couples and crowd the dance floor. My advice is to laugh it off, before we laugh it off completely, here are few elements for consideration.

Mercury is retrograde in Taurus, which rules the throat chakra, our finances, our security, and likes to experience life at a slow pace. Mars is in Leo the lion, a passionate fire sign, and he is yelling, “Come on, get with it, move forward, faster now…” Mars likes movement and excitement. Put together Mercury retrograde in Taurus – stability, slow movement and communication from the heart – with Mars in Leo – a fast little red race car zooming through traffic – and there are the two dancers who can’t seem to dance in sync.

Everything will change in one or two weeks, so at least we can look forward to change. In the big picture of the outer planets, the sky theater is filled with characters. Here’s a look at Saturn and Uranus.

More about Saturn/Uranus

Saturn is the old force and also the discipline that it takes to put new energy into form. Uranus is the new spiritual energy, the flow of the new age, but we have to keep in mind that we are creating from the place of the victim –savior – hero with Uranus in Pisces and Saturn is in Virgo which is discernment, too much attention to detail and digestion . The idea is to clear away the muddiness of the victim (Uranus in Pisces) and clean up the areas of health and work (Saturn in Virgo.)

These aspects are also about finding out what we need to heal both internally and externally and taking time to rest and heal.

We’re essentially flinging off our mud – whatever our major and deepest patterns are – and seeing them for what they are. We’re probably beginning to see the “structures” in life such as politics, health and other programs in a different light. My advice is to imagine what you like to experience in a wonderful way NOW!

We’re also creating what we want for the future – abundance, love, financial prosperity and health. As we fling away our mud, we become closer to our desired future and the big wave.

Challenges bring opportunity, so let’s seize the day!

Flower Power

We’ve just experienced the 4th of 5 exact oppositions between Saturn, this time in 29 Virgo- The Angels of Intellect and Knowledge, and Uranus in 29 Pisces-The Angels of Love Divine. [These series of oppositions last about a year, the first one starting last October.] The last time Saturn and Uranus opposed each other like this was in the Flower Power days of the sixties.

Keep in mind that during the 60′s, Chiron [the link between the lower self-Saturn and the higher self- Uranus] was in Pisces, the sign of compassion and surrender to cosmic consciousness.

Chiron entered Pisces again about a week ago, the first time it has been in Pisces since the ’60′s.

Creating with Love in the Age of Aquarius

The glyph or symbol for the Age of Aquarius is the water bearer. The water-bearer is a man pouring water from a container into the air. The container is held above his head, indicating that the water comes from a celestial, rather than earthly source. The round open ended container represents 360 degrees, the measure of the circle. In metaphysics, the circle represents unity or higher consciousness.

Higher consciousness is found in the field. In alchemy, water represents the higher emotion of love, the love that results from a connection with the divine. The highest emanation of emotion (water) is love.

The present structure of the world is falling apart. There is no taping it together, glue or adhesive that is ever going to bring it back as it was. We, the light workers, are faced with creating a new reality that fulfills the paradigm of love.

Each day, the Universe is emitting this message, “Create with love.” And we are only beginning to understand what it means. Each of us, who have remained devoted to our lessons and inner work, have already found that the Universe will support us, regardless of what is happening in the world. We are seeing that miracles are real and come to our doorstep on a regular basis, if we remember to open the door and receive them.

The former structure was based on imbalanced masculine energies, and it became focused on power alone. It epitomized violence, competition, greed and lust. Power, alone or imbalanced, will never work, as it is a separating force that reinforces the selfish nature of the ego. Power tempered by love is wisdom. Both the masculine ray (power) and feminine ray (love) are anchored at this time which opens the doors to vast opportunity.

As we awaken by accepting more light into our lives through meditation and devotion, it is important that power is accompanied by love so that our quest leads to the wisdom of enlightenment.

Love is not simply giving everything away or a blind generosity; it is a balanced action of rightfully giving or not giving with awareness. (For example, a loving parent does not reward a child for poor behavior. The love stays but the reward is given for right behavior.) The form of the next societal creation rests with us, and it is our mission – if we accept it – to create anew under the auspices of love.

The rules are yet to be discovered, but there is a plumb-line, a centering edge, or ruler that can be applied. This is the heart, the heart chakra, the center of our beings that can be used to measure and weigh our actions for this is the center of our being, the part of the self that is aligned with love. When we feel with our hearts, we can discern if our thoughts and emotions stem from the ego or the true self. A thought or feeling from the heart chakra leads to the True Self, and, its inner awakening.
