The Toltec Art of Dreaming with Don Jose Luis

donluis

Don Miguel Ruiz, best-selling author of The Four Agreements, is a nagual of the Eagle Knight lineage who has passed his knowledge on to his son, Don José Luis. Here, Don José Luis speaks about the three basic skills — awareness, stalking, and intent — that a warrior develops in order to transcend the realm of the ordinary, and their esoteric application to dreaming.

Julia: What is the difference between Toltec dreaming and some of the Western teachings regarding lucid dreaming?

Don José: Dreaming is a big Being, and we are married to Dreaming. All of life is a dream. We are a walking mirror.

God is a mirror — everything we think, feel, or believe is reflected back to us through this great mirror that is life. The world is a mirror that reflects back to us all that we believe. The world does not create what we are experiencing. We do that.

We create our beliefs, and the mirror of God reflects them back to us. God can send us only love and beauty. We create the distortions in this mirror of our life that is so short — and so beautiful.

There is an exercise I like to use with mirror work:

Put a candle in front of a mirror and look at yourself in the mirror. Look at the image as though it is a person you have never seen, and think about this person. It is the only person who is completely loyal to you and who totally loves you. When you think about your image in this way, it will help you to pull out of the lies and move into love.

Julia: A shaman uses stalking in dreaming to find the weaknesses in his consciousness. How is the art of stalking used in Toltec dreaming?

Don José: Stalking is used in dreaming to find the mental and emotional images that prevent us from being free. When we dream, we must learn to discover in our dreams the forms or energies that limit us. They may repeatedly take the same form, or they may take different forms. They may appear in many different dreams, or just one dream that reoccurs.

We must dream with the purpose of stalking, to try to stalk who is within ourselves and see what our beliefs are. We primarily stalk two things in dreaming: thinking (what is in the head) and heartbreak.

By heartbreak, I mean the incredible pain we feel from the terrible things that have happened to us. When we feel the pain of heartbreak, we close off parts of ourselves. In some way, we stop living. If the same situation comes up again, we say, “Oh, no, I won’t let myself be hurt again!”
But this is no way to live.

Life is so short and so incredibly beautiful. It is such a gift. You must forgive yourself for experiencing heartbreak. You must love the heartbreak in your life, because it is part of living. Most importantly, you must create a better dream.

We also stalk to find the thoughts that keep us chained in “reality.” These thoughts that we think so many times limit us. If we can identify these limiting thoughts, we can pull the energy back from their mental patterns and create anew.

It is so important to take back these lost energies and share with the world the gifts given to us from the angels and God. Heartbreak and limiting thoughts are like a cage. They keep us caged, imprisoned, in the three-dimensional world. The cage is created from the fear of being the Self, of being authentic.

Lies and fears about our Self are the forces that keep us in the cage—and they are not real. We must reclaim the key to our cage by pulling the energy back from our thoughts and our heartbreak. In this way, we become free.

Stalking in dreaming can be compared to opening gates. If a state of mind or heartbreak has been identified in dreaming, then we find the opening point of the wound, or the judgment, and we go in our memory to the point just before it occurred. When we remember the time before the memory occurred, we find a closing point for the wound — and then we go a little further back in time, so we can avoid returning to the wound.

Now we can see an entirely different world, or movie. We have created a better dream. It is possible to use this technique to open a gate and see a different view.

Julia: Can you explain a little more about using stalking to create a better dream?

Don José: Again, until we are free, heartbreak and thinking will always appear in our dreams. This is because life is nothing but a reflection of ourselves and our memories.

One way of using stalking with heartbreak is to relive all the heartbreak in your life. Take one incident at a time and imagine that you are pulling all of the energy out of that terrible experience. Imagine it over and over until you can feel nothing when you watch images in your mind.

Then take the experience and “dream” a whole different reality. See your life moving in a different direction, a wonderful dream, with a happy experience in place of the heartbreak.

See the way that you want to live, as opposed to how you have been living. It is possible to do this with all of your life.

For example, let’s say there is a teenage girl who has a beautiful voice. She goes about singing with this exquisite voice, and the birds answer her. Everyone pauses to hear her. Then one day her mother tells her, “Stop singing. You have an ugly voice.”The girl stops singing, and the world is deprived of the beauty of her gift.

She could imagine, in place of her heartbreak, that the experience with her mother never occurred — or that she told her mother that she was wrong. Then she must see herself singing during those lost years, and in the present and the future.

It is so ironic. We listen the most to the ones we think love us the most, and so often they do not know us at all. These people that we think love us don’t even know themselves, so they cannot possibly know us. And yet we lose our gifts and powers to these people.

An exercise I use with group dreaming is called “Mirror Mitote.” You imagine that the voices in your mind are like the sounds in a supermarket, where we can hear other people talking very loudly and we have trouble focusing.

The mind reflects this kind of environment. We hear the voices and opinions of others when we don’t believe in ourselves. The voices become very loud. We have to learn to look at our beauty, and see the opinions as lies.

Julia: I remember reading about recapitulation in Castaneda’s books. How does that relate to dreaming?

Don José: Recapitulation is more like daydreaming. We use recapitulation during our waking hours to review our limitations, our fears and heartbreak. We review experiences that keep us in limitation until those experiences become like a ghost town, until visiting them is like going to a village that used to be alive and is now gray and old with no one in it.

Before recapitulation, the memory may have been vivid — you could hear all the characters speak, and you reacted to them. But now the memory, or the town, is empty. There is no emotional or mental response. You have recaptured all energy from that moment, from that time in your life. It doesn’t have the same flavor or taste. It is flat.

Detachment is a principle point to achieve. Whenever we are living in our opinions, we are in judgment of our Self or other people. We are seeing only our own expectations or limitations. Doubt is also a lie that inhibits intent.

Even our names are a lie. Have you ever thought of that? All of our lies, opinions, and judgments keep us caged inside the body. All limitations come from fear. We must detach from our fears.

When we achieve detachment, we pull the energy out of the lies in our lives, and it goes back into the assemblage point.

Julia: What is the assemblage point? How does it affect dreaming?

Don José: The assemblage point is our point of focus. It is one of the keys to dreaming. It is exactly like a television with many channels. You can choose any channel, and anything might be on that channel — wrestling, a sad love story, the news… Our assemblage point is like a vortex of perception, an altar that opens us to experience. We can expand or reduce that perception.

Everyone thinks of something as they fall asleep. I do not care what people say — everyone thinks of some incident, person, or place. And as they fix their minds, they are focusing their assemblage point. People do this in real life when they go into a theater to watch a sad movie. What happens when they come out? They are sad or crying. Why? The emotional state changes because they have shifted their assemblage point to experience sadness.

When we can pull all of the energies of our life back into the assemblage point, we begin to become free.

We can focus the assemblage point on any channel. But we are accustomed to focusing on the channels we have learned through our life’s memories and the channels that are familiar to the mass consciousness.

We have to learn to change our perceptions from our reason, which is composed of our objective thoughts, to our Will. When we will the dream, our personal power changes from the mental construct to spiritual perception. When we are free from the cage of the mind, our energy increases dramatically, and we can discover our true identity.

It takes faith, strength, and tenacity to learn to change the focus of the assemblage point through intent. It also takes patience. Intent is faith — it is believing in our magic more than we believe what we think we see in the mirror called life.

The Buddha turned arrows into flowers. He understood the dream. Intent is a silent knowing that we are the creator of the dream.

A true master knows that anything is possible. He no longer doubts. And everyone can be a master. Everyone can create an incredible life through the magical part of the Self, and dreaming is a vehicle to do so.

Julia: When we begin to dream with intent, how does this change our lives?

Don José: We become free of expectation and limitation. We are no longer bothered by the opinions of the mass consciousness. Our desire or intent for freedom becomes so strong that we dream it and live it.

When heartbreak occurs, we begin to see that it is illusion. We are able to say, “That was a good one, that illusion almost tricked me. But I won’t fall for it.”

We realize that all of the “bad” things that have happened in our lives are just that — stories that we tell to ourselves and to whomever will listen. We stop letting our stories hurt us. We learn to take the energy back from the story and end it in a different way.

You see, we are always doing one of two things: We are either creating, or we are living lies. When we are creating, we start to have faith, love, and gratitude. We say “thank you” to the Earth and God for everything.

We learn to speak in the true language of feelings or emotions, rather than opinions and words. We begin to create our dream through the good feelings and happy thoughts that we have. This leads us to God. Through the clear channel of the Self that is created, many miracles happen, like the flowers that the Buddha created. This makes us fall in love with living.

Love of life is contagious. When we are not affected by illusions, we can create, and we can help other people find love in living.

A good analogy is to look at both dreams and life as a vacation or a movie. It is best to plan our vacation, to drive the correct vehicle, to make reservations, to choose the right geography. Or we can make a great movie if we plan or create it. If we don’t create or plan, then obstacles occur. The obstacles could be compared to the illusions of the mind. But if we have created carefully, we make the most beautiful movie imaginable.

This is how it is to live on Earth. We can travel blindly through the obstacles of our thoughts and emotions, or we can gather back the energy and create the dream. It is a catwalk between illusion and creating, but we must do our best to enjoy the gift of living. When we are capable of creating the dream, all of living becomes a Paradise on Earth.

It is all about spirituality and love. The angels are taking over the planet, little by little. We are all angels, and we have forgotten. We must let the flow of life within us live. We must remember that all of life is a dream, a movie — we can choose to watch a beautiful movie.

It is all beautiful if we can only remember.

Planetary Change, New Moon Forecast

astronomyconstellation

The New Moon appears on October 30, and it brings a great deal of mystical energy. It is an intense lunation with Sun, Moon, and Mercury closely placed in Scorpio. The combination of New Moon, Halloween, and three planets in Scorpio brings a strong surge of energy, particularly when positioned with Halloween–the time when the doors open between the astral and physical world.

Sun (outer life), Moon (inner self, emotions), and Mercury (communications) are placed in Scorpio, the sign that rules birth, death, and sex—all different forms of transformation. Scorpio delivers psychic perception, magnetism, intelligence, passion, and determination. In combination with Halloween, the New Moon will heighten our psychic and intuitive powers.

There is a strong emphasis on emotion with Sun, Moon, Mercury, Neptune, and Chiron placed in water signs. Fortunately, Sun, Moon, and Mercury trine Neptune, bringing a mystical note to the chart. Neptune rules the imagination, dreams, illusion, and mysticism. The challenge lies in stilling unruly emotions and focusing on realistic dreams. But this aspect can make life feel very dreamy and lovely.

Mars (assertion, overall energy) sits in Capricorn, a practical earth sign, and it squares Uranus (spiritual change, quantum field) in Aries. Squares often cause tension, and it can feel as if we’re being pushed and pulled between our spiritual aspirations and the frustrations of physical life. Mars square Uranus can indicate instability and quick, impulsive action, but it can also create positive change for more evolved individuals by pushing them into active pursuit of the spiritual path. (Uranus also represents the quantum field where marvelous changes take place in an instant. With Uranus, they often can feel awkward on the initial level, but they are truly for the best!)

Venus (love, material possession, beauty) affects how we feel about our experiences in life.  When Venus is placed in Sagittarius, there is an emphasis on travel, nature, and philosophical pursuits. Venus squares Neptune (idealism, illusion), which can mean misreading other people through optimism and idealism–and not in a practical sense. For the next week or so, it’s helpful to have boundaries in relationships and refrain from financial excess.

Jupiter (hopes, success) in Libra continues to its influence on partnerships, balance, and beauty. With Jupiter in Libra, there’s a need to continually seek balance between the spiritual/physical worlds and the “real” and mystical experiences. This theme runs through the entire New Moon chart.

One beneficial aspect involves Jupiter squares Pluto. This helpful square can aid in finding the strength to move through weaknesses; it focuses on finding our personal power and strength. Pluto involves the will, and Jupiter rules dreams, good fortune, and benevolence. Both planets can positively affect prosperity. It heightens the possibility of creating desires in reality as well as increasing our potential for a happy, positive life.

Saturn in Sagittarius squares and creates tension with Neptune. The square can cause confusion, making it difficult to focus the mind on the task at hand and to waver between our goals and an aspect of current “reality.”  It also blurs boundaries and makes it difficult to draw lines in relationships. Saturn trines Uranus, which brings a balance of change and stability. In other words, we experience a change followed by a period of adjustment.

This aspect helps a great deal with bringing order into our lives after experiencing a heightened state of consciousness, which often seems upsetting—at least, initially. It allows time to create a structure in the physical world for the results of our inner work.

Tips:

  • The New Moon will provide a great deal of energy—particularly emotional energy. When we feel emotion intensely, it’s important to think about changing our lives in a positive sense and meditating on universal love. It’s also helpful to know emotions are like waves; they rise and fall.
  • Take time to dream and imagine wonderful things, but keep them in perspective. When thinking about dreams and desires, consider the time and energy needed to put them into physical form. (Aspects with Neptune can cause lack of realism and a bit of escapism.)
  • Awakened individuals will become more intuitive and psychic with the passage of the New Moon. The placement of the planets and aspects with Neptune expand our mystical qualities. (Make notes and listen to your inner voice.)
  • Mars square Uranus, and Saturn trine Uranus can help with the manifestation of dreams. Both aspects call in the universal quality of awakening and the path of the soul. (Stay flexible and release resistance to change.)
  • Jupiter and Pluto are in a beneficial position to boost prosperity. Meditate on identifying personal potential and power. Visualize prosperity!

Sabian Symbols

This reading is based on Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the degrees of the zodiac. I often look at this part of the chart before looking at the aspects in a chart and reading the forecast because it presents a story through imagery.

Sun and Moon at 8 degrees Scorpio, “The Silvery Moon Shining across a Beautiful Gem of a Lake.” It’s a lovely symbol, representing the yin aspect of life. The lake (water) represents emotion in a calm, still state that reflects light. The moon reflects the sun, creating a balance on earth.

The symbol represents positive change and good fortune, which occur when our emotions and mind are correctly aligned with the feminine. It’s a wonderful oracle for a new moon.

Mercury sits on 10 Scorpio, “A Fellowship Supper Reunites Old Comrades.” This degree brings up the idea of soul contracts, people from past lives, and memories from our past. (The sign of Scorpio can bring up old memories, people from the past, and repetitive situations for clearing and transmutation.) With its close proximity to the Sun and Moon, this process may be part of the New Moon energy.

Venus at 16 Sagittarius, “Seagulls Fly Around a Ship Looking for Food.” This degree can refer to dependence of the sea gull on the sailors and ship. It can refer to finding or taking sustenance from others. It is the symbol for Venus, which can refer to love and loving relationships. It implies the need for boundaries and noticing when others feed on your energy or take too much from you.

Mars at 24 Capricorn, “A Woman Entering a Convent.” It’s a very interesting symbol for Mars, which refers to action and assertion. Typically, a woman enters a convent for inner contemplation and to escape pressure from the outer world. It may indicate a need to move into a higher spiritual state before taking action in the outer world—particularly with Mars square Uranus, which tends to expand impulsive action.

Jupiter is on 11 Libra, “A Professor Peering over his Glasses at His Students.” The image of a professor and glasses invoke thoughts about the rational, logical, and intellectual world. Truly, seeing someone means putting aside the rational world and looking through the heart. Sometimes, it’s important to put aside “reality” and look for the softer eyes of intuition—and the heart.

Uranus sits on Aries 22, “The Gate Opens to the Garden of All Fulfilled Desires.” This degree is included because Uranus is responsible for many of the spiritual changes experienced in the past 4 years. In metaphysics, the garden refers to spiritual world in which everything is perfect and aligned. All of our desires are met at a higher level of consciousness. Perhaps, it refers to the “change” that follows group awakening when we will find ourselves in a whole, new, beautiful world.

Planetary Change, Another Shift!

newsletter_planetpic

The “weather” following last weekend’s full moon is softer and less dramatic. For many of us, the full moon awakened subtle energies, which encouraged our inner aspirations. The trick is to continue embracing them—regardless of the planetary energies.

Challenges remain as the planets teach discernment between the ego and inner self. We’re also learning about the difference between programmed global beliefs and the freedom of universal structures. (Big lessons are rarely comfortable although they can bring bliss—when we experience a shift into higher consciousness.)

Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter are in Libra, which can make life seem beautiful and gracious. Sun (life, light) and Mercury (communications) oppose Uranus (quantum field) in Aries, meaning our desire to enjoy and balance life may cause conflict with our inner quest for spiritual growth. In short, it’s important to devote time to meditation and contemplation when many changes are afoot in the outer world.

Mars (action, overall energy) in Capricorn squares Uranus (quantum field, spiritual change) in Aries and conjuncts Pluto (subconscious, transformation) in Capricorn. Its square with Uranus can make for explosive action, or it can bring meditative thought about how our physical/every day actions blend with our spiritual life.

One of the bigger influences is Mars (action, energy)  conjunct Pluto (subconscious, transformation.) Mars and Pluto in a close position can bring courage, strength, and power to move forward with goals. As we know, power comes in two forms. It can refer to using manipulation to get our way or throwing resentment, hurt, or anger at others.

It can reveal the darker side of our energy–how we lash out or throw energy. True power involves choosing boundaries, staying on our path, and allowing the universe to work through us. We have to choose between force and strength. True strength brings healing, answers, and benefits the “all”.

Venus sits in Sagittarius, which forms a harmonious energy with Jupiter in Libra. These two energies in combination can bring pleasant and beautiful moments into our lives. Venus in Sagittarius tends to desire movement, philosophical stimulation, and physical activity. (Read esoteric writings and follow with a long walk.)

This full-disc image of Jupiter was taken on 21 April 2014 with Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3).

Jupiter is sextile Saturn, meaning our good beliefs and positive karma, can help in finding a better life and bringing it into form. Saturn trines Uranus, which means positive karmic efforts to follow our soul can aid in bringing big, spiritual realizations into our physical lives. (This is a powerful trine because it means good fortune can result from sustained effort–particularly those based on inner connection.)

Jupiter and Uranus are square Pluto, meaning the large, radical change continues as we examine and create our lives. Jupiter symbolizing good fortune, so we’re discovering how to transcend our limiting beliefs about the goodness in life. Uranus pushes us to realize the importance of spiritual life and Pluto reveals our limiting beliefs and illusions.

NOTES:

  1. The energy remains a bit erratic with the continuation of Uranus conjunct Eris (the 10th planet of discord), and Mars and Jupiter square Uranus. It makes everything seem unpredictable. (Remember it’s easiest to manifest when life is not completely stable. Uranus does help with the quantum field, so use the energy to focus on big desires.)
  2. Two T-squares appear before the end of the month. (The first T-square is on Oct 20; the next T-square appears on Oct 23.) T-squares make life feel a bit heavy and frustrating. Fortunately, they pass quickly.
  3. If we use it wisely, there’s a marvelous aspect with Mars conjunct Pluto. It can truly help in materializing desires and goals. It can give relentless drive and courage. It’s also important to use it wisely by focusing power in a beneficent way. Obviously, the object of the aspect is pursuing a goal from a place of neutrality while allowing the universe to work through us. (On the highest level, this aspect can help with integrating many of the current changes–as well as manifesting dreams.)
  4. There is much lovely energy in the chart. Nature is spectacularly beautiful with Venus in Sagittarius and Libra in Jupiter. Make time to visit with the loveliness of the world. It helps in awakening the inner self.
  5. Create a balanced schedule with time for inner and outer work. Spend time observing the self and watching feelings and thoughts. Shift into higher consciousness whenever possible.

Feeling the Shift, Self-Observation and Expansion

newsletter_tree2

We are all feeling the shift–the motion of photons into new patterns, the alteration of life on the planet, and subtle changes within our perception of life. Sometimes, it’s helpful to recognize aspects of the shift. By simply observing, we become more aware.

1)  Energy moves differently. Time moves quickly, then slows. Life can feel incredibly tense and dramatically beautiful. Our energy level ebbs and flows. Our emotions, thoughts, and perceptions of life change with the energetic flow. The interesting part of the shift is understanding our inner power to alter the placement of our vibrations. We can focus on pink light or imagine ourselves in a higher state of being.  This process can take minutes, hours, or days.

2) Nature can provide amazing energy. The natural world holds a slighter higher vibration than we do. By connecting with the earth and enjoying the beauty, we can heal our body, manifest more quickly, and move into a softer state of consciousness. It’s particularly effective to absorb energy through the soles of feet and through the tips of the fingers.

3)  Our ability to create is expanding; it’s also changing. It can take longer to manifest a desire, which can require a great deal of visualization and meditation. Or we may entertain a thought and experience almost instant manifestation.  We’re learning more about the process of creating together and the power of aligning with the inner self. Some of the biggest questions about creating involve time, consistent factors, and state of mind. We’re beginning to understand more in this new age.

4)  As we clear timelines (relationships, karma/trauma, and events from the past), our perception of ourselves alters. We may have compassion where we lacked understanding, create boundaries where we had none in the past, or feel greater love for the self. We may also find greater courage and trust. (This can involve dropping old friends and connections while finding new ones.)

5)  Our inner vision—intuition—is becoming stronger. We suddenly know why our energy rises or our energy falls. We know it comes from another person, place, or event. We may also have inner knowing about the cause of events and/or a clear read of another person’s motives. We may know what other people are thinking or feel strongly affected by their energy field. It’s helpful to note when our intuition is correct. We can note the difference in our state of mind, which develops our skills.

6)  There is a desire to relinquish control and let the universe do its thing. A Bigger Force is at play, and it wants the best for us. There is a deep realization of the power of letting go while tuning into this beautiful energy of love and light. We may experience a reawakening of hope. We continue working with all of our heart but surrender to the universe in the very, same moment.

7)  On the light worker level, there is an understanding that we share our light best by aligning with our true presence. It doesn’t matter if we work from 9-5 and/or where we work. Wherever we are, we lift up the world by aligning with our inner presence. It’s the very best way of sharing love and light. (We often find our dharma from this placement of consciousness.) It’s a new level of self-acceptance!

Connecting with the Inner Self

news_meditation

There are many methods of moving into a mystical connection. Its value lies in universal support and the discovery of truth and laws, which are larger and more powerful than simple physical rules. The universe is infinite; it offers thousands of solutions (if we are open.)

We tend to accept limitation, smallness, and the constraints of time—mainly because we are programmed to believe in unhappiness and rules that support it. When we actively imagine, express, and experience a different reality from the space of the heart, a new reality embraces us. Sometimes, it brings impossibly beautiful answers.

  1. Seek out the mystical connection between the inner self and the universe on a daily basis. It doesn’t matter if it works or not. Compliment yourself for making the effort. Seeking is part of the answer.
  2. The universe works at a different rhythm from “ordinary” reality. When we think, feel, or hold a visual image, we shape life with its energy. It’s possible to ask to feel the right type of energy to create a desire, calm emotions, or see life differently. It’s also possible to ask for the feeling of an opportunity and to change the energy of the day into a higher frequency. (Creating a habit of seeing and feeling the opposite of a situation helps in altering the flow of events.)
  3. Consider the unknown. When we manifest, it’s much like putting together images, emotions, and thoughts into a visualization or feeling. The universe is much larger; it is filled with undiscovered goodness. It’s possible to ask for the goodness of the unknown—the great mystery—to flow into your life. Contemplating the unknown brings expansion, which is associated with spiritual growth.
  4. Sometimes, situations do not initially bend to visualization. They may involve the development of boundaries, seeing life from a different perspective, or going in a different direction. In this case, there is often a new vision, understanding, or new field of discovery.
  5. Sending light and healing to others develops your capacity to access the inner self. It’s good to practice daily. In time, others will feel it, and we will feel more universal love and light. Giving and receiving are related; it’s good to practice both at different times. (I find it useful to imagine receiving love through the heart chakra.)
  6. Notice how your reality responds to our efforts. The bird songs may change. Our pets may respond, or we may perceive a feeling of harmony. Sometimes, there is an appearance of more light. Notice how life changes when sensing a connection.
  7. Take time to notice your work. It’s easy to become discouraged if we don’t pay attention to the good results of our small intuitions and intentions. When we notice how the universe is works with us, it’s encouraging. We want to move more deeply into the mystical world because your experiences carry us to a higher point.

NOTE: It’s through our mystical connection that we create a new and better life. If we don’t create through the inner self, we either repeat the past or create through the vision of the lower self. When we project the feeling of the inner self, visualize our heart’s desires, and connect with the universe, we have happy results!

New Moon Forecast, Emotions and the Inner Self

newsletter_planetpic

With six planets placed in water, the New Moon focuses on emotions. Emotions are elicited by our response or reaction to energy—or vibrations of the material/spiritual world. For example, the news vibrates. Words are delivered with a specific resonance. We perceive the energy field of other people. We feel the marvelous energy of the universe–and all of these things affect emotions.

On the highest level, emotions bring joy, peace, and calm. On the intermediate and lower levels, they can cause agitation, confusion, and upset. Our response to lower emotions can consist of using the energy to find our center or a return volley of lower emotions, which only increases the agitation of the wave. (Mastery is said to consist of a return to center while resting in heart space. But it’s more easily said than done.)

The New Moon appears on July 4, aligning with the birthday of the United States.  The New Moon is placed in Cancer, a water sign, along with Sun, Mercury, and Venus—which are conjunct (closely placed,) Conjunctions amplify energy, and there are five conjunctions between the inner planets in the sign of Cancer. The emphasis is about understanding emotions and how they impact our outer (Sun) and inner (Moon) life.

Several planets in Cancer heighten feminine energies with an emphasis on intuition, the home, and the need to nurture the self and others. Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus trine Neptune (spiritual idealism, illusion), which can help in expanding the imagination with spiritual concepts, seeing the beauty in life, and feeling the emotional joy of connection. It can also help with seeing life from a more idealistic point of view. (What do you want to experience in life?)

Thankfully, Mars (male energy, assertiveness) is direct, which helps with expression of inner thoughts, moving through the patterns, identified during the retro phase, new beginnings, and moving through life. Mars retro decreases physical energy, so we’ll experience more vitality. Mars in Scorpio also trines Venus in Cancer, creating a pleasant balance between yin/yang and female/male energies within the self and relationships. Additionally, the two planets trine Chiron, the wounded healer, in Pisces, which can help with personal, psychological/physical healing.

For this New Moon phase, Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus will oppose Pluto. The oppositions will bring awareness of how we feel manipulated or powerless a well as how we may misuse power or manipulate others. (With Pluto, it’s likely to take place on a subconscious level. It can also concern how we hold ourselves back from change and expansion.)

The Outer Planets, Push me/Pull me

Currently, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune play a big role in overall consciousness. We feel two very different energies at different times, making it difficult to have clarity about specific areas of life. It may feel like a push in one direction, followed by a pull in the opposite direction (In the big picture, we’re learning a great deal about ourselves and the best placement of our personal energy.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Virgo continues squaring Saturn (time, limitation, discipline) in Sagittarius. This square definitely reflects the Native American adage of having one foot in both worlds—the physical and spiritual.  Jupiter in Virgo demands practicality and detailed plans while Saturn in Sagittarius insists on the importance developing a spiritual life.

Jupiter (good fortune) in Virgo opposes Neptune in Pisces, which focuses on spiritualty and the experience of union within humanity. Again, we’re confronted with the need for attentiveness with daily life and order while working with a different type of spirituality. Neptune’s spiritual wave is emotional, transcending duality and the material substance of life. Yet, it’s necessary to blend both when mastering the essence of material and spiritual life.

Saturn in Sagittarius squares Neptune in Virgo. Both lead to spiritual understanding but in two, very different ways. One is concrete, and one is dream-like. Saturn prefers discipline, positive routine, and devotion. Neptune floats from one great ideal to the next as well as inflating the imagination—and occasionally confusing fact and fiction. Jupiter also trines Pluto (subconscious, resources, transmutation) in Virgo, hinting at the possibility of using inner and physical resources to completely transform our lives

Notes

  • Stay centered and apply the emotion inherent in many water signs to feel the beauty and joy in life. Remember emotions, like thoughts, are not always real, and they change with the focus of our consciousness. (Water is a magnetic element, directing the flow of energy.)
  • Look for power struggles from others and within the self. Observe, stay calm, and plan a strategy for communicating through them—or an exit strategy. No one needs to stay in toxic relationships.
  • Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars are sextile Jupiter. This placement can bring good fortune and opportunity.
  • Jupiter in Virgo trines Pluto in Capricorn. It’s about using inner and outer resources to create breakthroughs, changes, and transmutation in business and life.
  • With Mars direct, the feeling of tiredness will diminish. Lower emotions and frustrations will lessen.

Sabian Symbols

Sun and Moon are conjunct on Cancer 13, “A Hand, which is held out receptively, Is Remarkable for Suggestion of Character in its Prominent Thumb.” An extended hand symbolizes communication, reception of thought, and a desire to connect. A positive sensation associated with a handshake  generally refers to a feeling of warmth, firmness, strength of will, and inner character.

It can also refer to an openness with others. If we extend a handshake with flexibility and warmth, we can connect well with others to exchange and express personal points of view.

Mercury sits on Cancer 10, “A Large Diamond in the Early Stages of Cutting.” This refers to the hidden treasure beneath the shape of an uncut or rough diamond. In spiritual life, we move into this process by learning about ourselves, speaking from the heart (Mercury=communication), and expressing our gifts.

Venus is placed on Cancer 21, “A Prima Donna Singing.” This symbol can refer to using the power of one’s gifts to sway or influence many. It can refer to fame and fortune–and the development and expression of the voice of the inner self. Obviously, a prima donna can bring in drama, so it’s important to discern between the need for dramatic performances and sharing a true gift.

Mars is on Cancer 24, “Crowds Coming Down off the Mountain to Listen to One Inspired Person.” At this point in our evolution, the symbol probably refers to the many inspired voices on many teachers. If we come down from the mountain to hear the spoken word, it’s important to know if it resonates with our inner truth–and hold practical value in our personal world.

Jupiter is on Virgo 18, “Two Girls Playing with a Ouija Board.” The symbol conjures the image of 2 girls seeking the spiritual world. But it’s important to think about how and why we seek the spiritual world. It requires grounding, good sense, and knowledge of the best direction for our work. On the highest level, we want spiritual truth–and discernment between the astral (psychic) world and spiritual world is key.

Planetary Change: Spiritual Evolution

news_fullmoon

The incredible energy of the full moon and summer solstice brought a flow of pure, beautiful energy. The earth glowed beneath the dreamy moon, awakening beauty and hope.

Many people watched the moon rise and bathed in the loveliness of the turning of the earth into a new season. When we join together—and see beauty and hope—the earth and life respond. (This energy is far more powerful than the temporary and tense energy of the Grand Square. It’s the power of many coming together in a lovely space.)

The Sun (life) and Venus (physical possessions, beauty, love) are in Cancer, an emotional, nurturing and compassionate water sign. Sun and Venus also trine Neptune (illusion, idealism, imagination), making life Cancer rules the home, exemplifies the energy of the mother, and sensitivity. This sign can expand or contract in response to various events and stimuli, but one of its key words is “caring”.

Mercury (thought, communication, travel) sits in Gemini, stimulating rapid patterns of thought. The concept of patterns is important because Mercury is involved in the Grand Cross. Consideration should be given to the overall direction of thoughts—and if they lead to confusion or greater cognizance of the higher mind.

Mars (overall energy, male, assertion) completes its retrograde on June 29. Until this time, it’s not unusual to feel conflicting and/or strong emotion, which is out of sync with specific situations. Mars in Scorpio compounds emotion, and it’s important to remember that emotions can come from mass consciousness and people around us.  (We’re clearing patterns, and Mars retro makes lower feelings and emotions more visible.)

Jupiter sits in Virgo, and Saturn is in Sagittarius. The two planets continually exert pressure for structure, organization, and devotion. Admittedly, it’s easier when the energies are more stable, but it’s currently one of the bigger lessons. Jupiter focuses on the practical side of life while Saturn exerts pressure on spiritual growth.

Trines (Harmonious Aspects)

Sun and Venus trine Neptune (illusion, idealism, imagination), which can make life appear particularly beautiful. It can lead to insights about the interrelationship between beauty, love, and the soul.

Jupiter

Jupiter (good fortune) is trine Pluto (underworld, regeneration.) Both planets are in earth signs, meaning we can take positive, concrete steps to increase our physical resources and/or glimpse how to use our abilities to create personal wealth.

Pluto

Pluto trines the North Node (spiritual quest on earth), emphasizing our ability to achieve our spiritual potential. We may have feelings of connection, ideas, or receive an actual plan.

The Grand Square

The Grand Square continues between Mercury (communications), Jupiter (good fortune), Saturn (time, karma) and Neptune (illusion, spiritual exaltation.)  Mercury in Gemini squares Jupiter and Neptune, and it opposes Saturn. (It’s important to remember thought moves quickly. It doesn’t last forever, and it changes with different stimuli.)

Jupiter (good fortune) squares Saturn (see above) and opposes Neptune. We may feel the beauty of our dreams with high inspiration (Neptune) but feel challenged to create them in the physical. The feelings alternate in this particular pattern. Additionally, Uranus squares Pluto.

In short, we’ll experience conflicting feelings, but feelings are temporary. The inner self can speak with a soft voice and clear directives—if we take time to tune into our center. It is simply important to review strong emotions and quick thoughts before vocalizing them.

Overall, it’s not an easy mix of planets, but our light level is growing. On a higher level, the forecast focuses on  how to change, where to expand, and provides greater detail about what we truly want—and don’t want. It’s part of our inner evolution.

When the World is Changing

mandela_ellenvaman

By Ellen Vaman

When the whole world is changing, it’s helpful to remember how change can become the vehicle for your “right” destination.  Everyone desires change, but it’s easy to encounter resistance during the process. Almost everyone experiences stress (resistance) when listening to the soul because it means living life in an entirely, different way.

Here are a few tips:

  1. It’s a gift to watch the entire world change. Your inner vision of life is accepted and needed. A huge dispensation of light is filling the planet. (Who would want to miss it?) It’s also a opportunity to raise your frequency.
  2. This is a rare time. When you center in the heart, there is a palpable love vibration. You can feel higher collective consciousness. When you join with the higher vibration, there is incredible support. The veil between the physical and spiritual realms is thinner. It’s easier to have the support of angels and beings of light.
  3. It’s “normal” to feel unstable when passing through the process of collecting more light in your life. It’s also wonderful to “hear’ your inner knowing answer questions, provide a calm state, and connect to the All. (It’s not always easy to know if you’re right or wrong, but you learn this over time.)
  4. It’s partially a lesson about manifestation. Everything is manifesting much more quickly, including our lower and higher thoughts and emotions. As consciousness grows, life manifests more rapidly. You also become more aware of other people–their moods, thoughts, and energy fields. As you learn to read this through the heart, you become more adept.
  5. Change is the path to the realization of the higher self and its manifestation. Every manifestation creates a “new” self, which is more aligned with the inner self. This means casting off the old self, who began the work on the manifestation. (The resistance is felt by the “old” or lower self, which is casting off old emotions, beliefs, and thoughts.) When the new self is born, it is a beautiful event.

Staying More Connected

  • Your inner power is found through meditation, contemplation, and seeing life from a different perspective. It begins with the desire to connect deeply with the universe. Practicing daily and developing consistency are the first steps. Seeking the “feeling” of receiving insight also helps.
  • Peace is within you. It’s important to find the “emotion” within you. The placement of your consciousness determines the flow of your energy. When you are quiet “within”, the world around you becomes still. You can move into peace.
  • When you seek, imagine, and dwell in a specific point of consciousness, it becomes easier to find it. For example, if you focus on higher consciousness or awakening, you will find more of it. If you recall a peaceful state, it’s easier to create it in the “now.”
  • Higher and lower emotions exist. Events, people, and situations cause your inner feelings to move, but you have the choice to return to “center.” Being centered comes through practice, concentration, and spiritual support from the universe.
  • The universe replicates your internal state. When you move into a place of calm and peace, you actually generate those vibrations into your “reality.”
