Last Quarter Moon Forecast

Amidst the blooming of flowers and singing of birds, the moon wanes into its last quarter. Traditionally, the last quarter marks the time of letting go of patterns and releasing aspects of physicality (cleaning closets, weeding the garden, or giving up bad habits.) Essentially, it’s a preparation for the new moon cycle, which marks beginnings.

Like many New Age charts, this one offers odd placements for mitigating karma and the discovery of inner genius. It’s a way of turning darkness (karma) into light (the soul). There is a strong emphasis on higher thought and love, the two qualities that can alter the motion of life by moving our consciousness into the quantum field where possibility abounds. (Only one planet – Jupiter – is placed in air, so reaching higher consciousness requires a stretch.)

On a practical level, Sun, Mercury, and Mars are placed in earth, and this gives needed grounding along with the desire to persist with physical pursuits. It’s important to recall the parts of physical life that lead to the inner self and take small, consistent actions. The overall tension remains with Sun (life) and Mercury (communications) closely placed to Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) and square Pluto (underworld). On the brighter side, we evolve a great deal by finding light and peace when the weather is a bit wild.

Mercury (communication, the mind) moves retrograde (backwards) until May 3. During this phase, it’s helpful to plan extra time for delays as well as rest. Mercury retro tends to amplify tension with online activities, travel, and heart-felt communication. The lines of communication move in many directions—as opposed to a straight line. (Stay patient and gentle while working with projects and completing routine tasks.)

Venus, planet of feminine energy and love, moved direct on April 15. Venus direct offers lovely energy with relationships, partnerships, and the experience of love through companionship. Venus squares Saturn (time, karma), bringing old patterns of lack of love to the surface. (These patterns may include perceived coldness from others, insecurity, and receiving/giving love. Through the perception of patterns, it is possible to move into universal love—and open to greater, more positive opportunities.)

Mars sits in the last degrees of Taurus, a slow earth sign. It will move into Gemini later in the week, adding speed and impetus to our daily work. Jupiter remains in Libra, opposing Uranus and creating a trine with Saturn. It asks for balance with eye on beauty and grace—to find a peaceful pattern within a time of rapid change.

Saturn and Uranus

In this chart, Saturn appears as a kind grandfather who patiently teaches wood carving—rather than a harsh schoolmaster and/or keeper of time and karma. Saturn can give many wonderful qualities such as persistence, patience, devotion, and dedication, and it does so in this chart.

Sun (life) and Mercury (communications) trine Saturn, a harmonious aspect that aids with service, constructive thought, and the motion of life. It can help with creating a new set of positive thoughts and feelings, physical/mental practices, and daily spiritual rituals. Saturn also trines (harmonious) Uranus (new age, change), igniting the possibility of blending ancient and new knowledge in a positive way.

Uranus, the ruler of the New Age, holds a prominent part in this chart. On a higher level, Uranus gives connection to the “field” of love and light, the substance of miracles. On a completely different level, it tends to ignite repetitive patterns of anger and frustration by manifesting them in physical form.  (Uranus prefers higher forms of thought, intense visualization, and sincere emotion.)

Sun and Mercury sit in close placement to Uranus, and Jupiter sits opposite Uranus. Saturn trines Uranus. When four planets aspect Uranus, it amplifies its force and influence. Additionally, Uranus squares Pluto—an influential aspect that began in 2012.

Uranus square Pluto consistently reveals the dark matter beneath the surface—the aspects of life that we’d prefer not to see. It also adds a strange, surreal energy to life. It is part of the consistent tension of life as well as the source of the continual play between darkness and light. The square challenges us to move beyond duality into new galaxies of universal relationships.

Shifting into the New Age

Your responses, thoughts, and emotions change as you move into the New Age energy. Basically, it’s about awareness and awakening–and it alters how you see the world.

  1. You’re aware of the light, including the variations of energy. You’ve learned to adjust your energy on a daily basis, varying from a blast of light to a tired sensation. (The tired feeling often comes when adjusting physically to a higher light level. It can also come when you are called to action but feel you can’t respond.)
  2. You’re aware of how life responds to you. People become more emotional or gentler in accordance with your energy level. You know the phone stops ringing, or an outcome is delayed because the placement of your consciousness. You also know it’s possible to turn it around through meditation and visualizing life in a beautiful flow. (It may take a day or two, but you can do it.)
  3. You have insights about the people and places in your life. You know every location and person has a field of energy, and you respond/react to it. You’re willing to make big changes in your behavior, judgments, beliefs, and schedule to accommodate, avoid, or deepen your interaction with specific energies.
  4. You’re patient when life doesn’t move in the direction of your desires. You’re willing to look within to clear blocks and patterns. You remain persistent with your spiritual discipline, make small changes, and continue to move forward on your path. (You also know to send love or pink light to the part of you, which experiences the problem.)
  5. You remember to see the opposite of the difficulties in life. If you feel tired, you imagine feeling energized. When life seems sad, you recall moments of happiness. You trust the universe to amplify your positive thoughts and feelings by altering your state of mind, which affects the material world.
  6. You feel the support of the natural world, the nurturing power of plants of animals. The colors become more beautiful. You feel the wind and marvel at the color of leaves. It’s part of how the universe speaks in the invisible world.
  7. You are aware of the power of sending light, love, and/or positive feelings to the planet. You’ve moved beyond reaction, and you are ready to use your skills and gifts to create a new and different flow of energy for a whole, new global pattern.
  8. When nothing works, you remember the power of light and love. You release the problem to the Divine. You ask for more connection; you recall how it’s the one thing that always works.
  9. You’re a bit tired of the darkness in the world, but you know the light is stronger. You keep sending light and love—and a higher visual, a solution—out to the world. You know everything is changing and becoming more beautiful. It’s part of how you are changing yourself.

All of these small steps constitute a spiritual revolution, which consists of raising your vibration, seeing life from a different perspective, and changing yourself (and your inner vision) when you can’t change an aspect (person, place, situation) of life immediately. You know there is something better and bigger, which is sweeping through the world. You want to be a part of it.

Insights about the Inner Self

  1. You’re more powerful than you think. Your feelings and thoughts affect the space and people around you. When you consciously direct your thoughts in a positive way, it changes the flow of the events. The best way to create conscious change is through the inner self and connection with the universe.
  2. You create a better future by believing in your power to do so. The potential becomes greater when you practice visualization and gain awareness of your thoughts and feelings. By seeing your inner world with a different light, you learn how to envision for the outer world. When many people hold a positive vision for the outer world, it’s possible to create amazing change.
  3. When you experience a sense of wellbeing and soft happiness, it helps everyone around you. Everyone is drawn to this type of energy field. Practice recalling memories of feeling well, happy, and relaxed. You automatically pull these emotions into the future by focusing on them. (Focusing involves concentration and energy. When you place your energy on a particular point of consciousness, it expands.)
  4. A part of you is always connected. You may not always feel your connection, but it’s always there. You can meditate more, ask for help, call on your guides or angels, and recall feeling of inner connection. If you stay with your practices, you’ll find your inner self. (Everyone moves in and out of this space in a given day.)
  5. Many people believe a very special group of people were called here for the group awakening. If you are awakening, you probably have special talents and gifts. (It’s helpful to know you can focus on your inner light and help others—regardless of your livelihood or life direction.) Everyone in this group works with personal problems, which likely involve clearing global karma or holding light for others. Your small efforts help far more than you think, and your light counts a great deal.

Full “Pink” Moon Forecast

April’s full moon is a pink moon, which appeared on April 11. The term “pink moon” refers to celebrating the color of flowers and the emergence of spring. The chart brings both harmonious and challenging aspects; it brings potential for growth with personal aspirations and inner growth. Additionally there is time for contemplation with five planets in retrograde

The Sun (outer life) is placed in Aries, a fire sign representing individual initiative, new beginnings, and a passionate quest. It conjuncts (close to) Uranus, the planet ruling the Age of Aquarius, group endeavors, and collective consciousness. The conjunction raises questions concerning the relationship of an individual within collective consciousness.  (How do we retain our individual soul values when acting within group consciousness?)

The lovely Moon sits in Libra, an air sign ruling balance with relationships and others. The underlying quest involves alignment with the inner self while speaking from the heart—and listening to the other person. (It’s not easy!) The Moon conjuncts (close to) Jupiter (good fortune), indicating the importance of communication, beauty, and harmony. Air symbolizes thought, and the mind can act as a positive vector, particularly when aligned with intuition.

A T-square brings intense pressure and energy. Moon and Jupiter in Libra and Sun/Uranus square Pluto (underworld, subconscious), creating tension. The T-square brings the substance of the subconscious (personal and global) to the surface. Uranus can act as the quantum field and/or simply bring sudden, unexpected change.

Mercury is retrograde in Taurus, an earth sign. This placement enhances the beauty of nature. It is grounding and loves the practical parts of life. Mercury trine Saturn (limitation, structure, karma) indicates answers through love of spiritual and physical schedules, structure through physical and spiritual discipline, and enjoying the vast beauty of life. (Mercury is about thought, and retrograde planets tend to focus on positively changing our thoughts and emotions.)

Venus (beauty, love, pleasure) remains retrograde in Pisces until Saturday, April 15. Venus retrograde tends to demonstrate how we need and want more love in life. Normally, we may think it doesn’t matter, but retrograde Venus brings emotions and feelings to the surface. Since Venus conjuncts (close to) Chiron, the wounded healer, it is possible to alter our emotions and seek a better vision of love.

Venus squares Saturn through April 21, and this position can cause tension, particularly with the dichotomy of a desire for a love and the outcome of personal experience. Fortunately, it’s possible to heal and create another outcome by noting our experiences—and expanding into new and better possibilities.

Mars (male, assertive) sits in Taurus, the sign of its detriment. Taurus is a feminine earth sign ruled by Venus. Mars loves action, but now it’s earthbound. New projects tend to move slowly and ineffectively with Mars in Taurus, but the placement does give strength and persistence. It also increases our interest in nature, physical strength, and ability to perceive the wonders of the natural world—and create financial abundance.

Mars trines Pluto (subconscious, transformation), which can increase personal power and passion for a specific desire, goal, or plan. It can intensify the need to delve into mysticism—or simply increase the taste for mystery. It’s a wonderful burst of strong, strange energy.

Saturn (time, karma, structure) actually gives a bit of balance and strength to the chart. Saturn in Sagittarius moves harmoniously with Uranus’ constant activity and revolutionary nature. It gives information provided by time and integrates Uranus’ wild ideas into an useful plan.

Neptune (mysticism, illusion) and Chiron (wounded healer) remain in Pisces. Neptune in Pisces can bring confusion about emotions and ideals, but it also engages the imagination. Chiron in Pisces aids in healing the wounds of the Piscean Age.

Tips:

  1. Mercury is retrograde, which slows communications. It’s not the right time to begin a new project or move in a different direction. It’s best to relax, rest, and remain patient with delays.
  2. There is a tremendous amount of energy, formed by the T-square and retrograde planets. Focus on peaceful, loving, and positive thoughts.
  3. The energies from the Full Moon chart can help with understanding group energy, self-expression in relationships, and perceiving how individuals work within the group.
  4. Mercury and Mars in Taurus slow the general motion of energy. Plan to take walks and enjoy the beauty of spring.
  5. Many of these shifts in energy involve collective energy. Remember that every individual thought/emotion counts in the “field.”

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

The Sun is placed on Aries 22, “The Gate Opens to the Garden of All Fulfilled Desires.” The universe is providing beautiful places, gardens, and opportunities, but it’s necessary to open the gate and take decisive action. It’s a lovely symbol!

Moon sits on Libra 22, “A Child Giving Birds A Drink At A Fountain.” The symbol combines the images of a child, birds, which represent air, and water (the fountain). A child has a pure heart and innocence. They also the inherent beauty and “invisible” energy of the moment. Birds often represent spirituality, and the fountain represents emotion. When our heart is pure, the universe speaks to us through nature — and invisible messages.

Mercury retrogrades at Taurus 5, “A Youthful Widow Kneels at an Open Grave to Receive Eternal Life.” Opening the heart to love and life means releasing grief and disappointment. It also involves opening to hope and grace.

Venus is on Pisces 28, “A Fertile Garden Under the Full Moon.” In many ways, this symbol is perfect, reflecting the fertility and power of the spring moon. Nature spirits are strong, and the earth is awakening. The life force of the planet rises.

Mars is on Taurus 23, “A Jewelry Shop Filled with the Most Magnificent Jewels.”  The symbol refers to abundance of all good things including material goods, riches, jewelry, talent, and more. It speaks of self-worth, joy, and things that shine.

Finding Higher Vibrations

Moving through the shift requires diligence, persistence, and connection; it also requires love. Simply loving our lives invokes a powerful state of being that invokes transformation.

  1. The universe reveals our lower and higher nature as a part of altering our frequency to a higher level. When the lower nature is revealed, observe and acknowledge. Trust the process. Love both parts of you. Let go of judgment.
  2. Time is one of the issues of the current shift. Time lengthens when we meditate or work with the soul. It shortens when we listen to the ego (monkey mind), become too involved in worldly affairs, or listen too much to the task list. By watching the passage of time, we receive insights about our behavior and the placement of the heart.
  3. Face the inevitable with a strong heart. Awakening changes our perception of life. Welcome it and move into the deepening motion of new life. (Accept new perspectives, let go of people, locations, and events, and open to the widening of life.)
  4. Call on your guides and angels often. A strong connection with our angels can change “reality” immensely. Ask them for the best possible vision (or version) of life—and insights and intuitions on how to bring it into being.
  5. See the beauty whenever possible. Look for the smiles of people with open hearts. Notice the perpetual, spiritual alignment of children and animals. Spend time in nature. Make time for 2 or 3 short walks or sit outside and meditate.
  6. Whenever possible, choose not to judge. When life seems to flow in the wrong direction, ask if there is a lesson or benefit in the change of direction. Sometimes, we are asked to slow down, enjoy nature, or see life from a new perspective. Value and learn from twists and turns in life.
  7. Ask for greater connection, development of spiritual gifts, and the power to move more deeply into the spiritual self. Sometimes, we have to ask for what we want.
  8. (It’s helpful to visualize how we feel and respond in a more spiritual state.) Obviously, some of us feel the shift more strongly than others. The universe speaks to us in accordance with our inner state of connection.
  9. Sometimes, it’s helpful to focus on what we gained from the difficulties of the past. After all, we are the result of all of our experiences, which can give insight into our spiritual nature.

New Moon Forecast: A Change in the Weather

Delicate blossoms of flowering trees break the gray skies of late spring rain, and the stars are luminous in the dark, night sky. The New Moon (March 27) marked the beginning of a new cycle of change. On the first few days following the New Moon, we should think of discarding old elements of our life. As the moon grows, it’s important to focus on creating our dreams and desires.

The new moon chart places our attention on the element of fire. Fire is creative, ruling dreams and passion. There are six planets in fire signs in the New Moon chart, which bestow incredible impetus to act on dreams and inner plans. This placement can give a burst of energy to move through obstacles and bring dreams into physical form.

Water is emotion, and spiritual mastery relates to emotion. By clearing emotional patterns, we find space for connection and insight. Neptune and Chiron in Pisces continue to emphasize the need to release emotional patterns based on our past experiences and beliefs. South Node in Pisces asks for the creation of new emotional patterns, which are based on compassion but bring change and results. (Emotional clearing takes work, but it clears the heart space—and brings freedom from limitation.)

Earth is the fabric of the physical world, and it is the substance that reflects our dreams, thoughts, and actions. Mars sits in Taurus, and Pluto is placed in Capricorn. Mars in Taurus gives strength to move through obstacles, create abundance, and enjoy the beauty of life. Mars (male, assertion) and Pluto (underworld, transformation) are trine (harmonious), indicating the possibility of financial success—by clearing old patterns and subconscious beliefs.

Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Uranus are placed in fire. Sun is the masculine, life giving force of the outer life, and Moon rules the feminine, emotional aspect of the inner self. Mercury is communication, and Venus is the beautiful aspect of the feminine in the physical world. Uranus rules change and awakening. All of the planets are placed in Aries, strengthening the pulse of creating the “new” and giving birth to the inner self. (This is a very strong pulse with planets in the same sign.)

Sun, Moon, and Venus square Saturn (limitation, karma), indicating a struggle between perceptions of the past and the motion of a new beginning. Saturn can refer to memories, which are perceived as the darker side of life. It may become necessary to override old beliefs and thoughts with a brighter vision of life, which is a wonderfully, conscious action.

Venus and Jupiter are retrograde. Together, they rule hope, abundance, beauty, and good fortune, making it an excellent time to dream up experiences along these lines of thought and emotion. When we “feel” what is lacking, it’s excellent to see (and plan to experience) the opposite.

Jupiter sits in Libra, the only air sign presented in the chart. Air brings clarity of thought, vision, and communication. Jupiter, the ruler of good fortune, is opposite Uranus (sudden change) and exactly square Pluto (underworld, transformation.) Jupiter square Uranus gives the urge to break through old patterns and increases the desire for freedom and new action.

Jupiter opposite Pluto can create a huge desire to succeed—at all costs. Pluto in Capricorn rules the finances and structure of the outer world. Jupiter in Libra speaks of justice and balance. Together in this aspect, they can create a focus to push through boundaries and accomplish a great deal. But Jupiter can exaggerate our feelings, and Pluto can add a huge feeling of drive. (It’s best move slowly and think about the best long-term outcome for everyone, who is involved.)

Sabian Symbols, based on Lynda Hill’s Sabian Symbols

Sun and Moon are on Aries 8, “A Woman’s Hat with Streamers Blown by the East Wind.” The east wind is gentle; it marks new beginnings in the Native American system. In Eastern philosophy, it can refer to the journey of following the inner path.

Mercury sits on Aries 26, “A Person Possessed of More Gifts Than They Can Hold.” This symbol is perfect for this time of change. Each of us has abilities, powers, and insights, which may not have been revealed. By focusing on our inner abilities and gifts – and using them – we can bring about a great deal of positive change.

Venus is on Aries 4, “Two Lovers Strolling on a Secluded Walk.” With Venus retrograde, the symbol can point to enjoying love and experiencing – or experiencing the need for greater love and understanding. Venus retrograde encourages us to focus on the kind of love that we want to receive, experience, and give.

Mars is placed on Taurus 13, “ A Porter Carrying a Mountain of Luggage”. The symbol can refer to the need to release the “heaviness” of life or refusing to carry the burden of others. For many light workers, it may refer to need to release some of world karma and surrendering the connection with mass consciousness.

Seeking Higher Consciousness

Everything is related. When following a desire, we increase and diminish parts of life. Time is a simple example. When we delve into our spiritual practice, we take time away from a previous pursuit. When we see the beauty in nature, we discard other thoughts. (When I write this, I think of nothing else.)

Over time, the beauty grows. The spiritual practice bears flowers and gifts. Our lives begin to resemble the fabric of the inner self, and we know to “read” life by its resonance with our heart.  We are given awareness of the sensation of the inner self in the varying facets and appearances of life.

With the influx of energies, there is a shift in perception, feelings, and responses to energy. Many people are awakening and bringing more light to the planet. As awakening continues, we perceive life differently because light causes everything to move at a higher frequency.

Here are a few insights:

  1. As we become more conscious, our awareness shifts. We become aware that “reality” shifts, spins, and stirs with the state of our consciousness, which is reflected in the flow of events.
  2. We affect “life” and our lives more than we want to admit. Our lower thoughts and feelings may attract an irritable person, and higher thoughts may pull in a flow of love. (For example, the sun shines when we think a higher thought, or we receive a pleasant email from a loved one.)
  3. Consciousness connects us more deeply to all sources of information and energy. We feel life more intensely. We may feel more drawn or repelled to particular sources of information. Our higher consciousness begins to direct us more strongly.
  4. Swings in duality – the movement of emotions and thoughts – may seem stronger. When we experience the inner self, consciousness moves into a place of centeredness. It focuses on “ONE” point. Naturally, we’re more aware of the motion after a quiet experience.
  5. Increased consciousness brings awareness of our impact on our internal/external state. We begin to understand how our happiness and unhappiness respond to our internal dialog, old beliefs, and expectations. With this awareness, life shifts.
  6. “Giving” and “helping” are subtly changing. We can hold a vision or send light to anyone, but our spiritual help is balanced with the spiritual commitment and effort of the receiver. (In the Piscean Age, healers and light workers gave in a different way by pouring out energy whenever they felt led to share and help. In the Aquarian Age, we balance and gauge energy for the best effect.)
  7. During flashes of awakening, we perceive a beautiful future in a balanced world. There is a feeling of reassurance, comfort, and support. (We may wonder where it is in difficult moments, but it is how the universe shares its visions—and activates it through our light.)
  8. We begin to understand how consciousness directs overall planetary energy. And we see how shifts in personal consciousness affect our world and the world at large.

Julia Griffin, intuitive healer and owner of One True Self, began her work fifteen years ago under the tutelage of real wolves. Following their direction, Julia sees and reads energy, including animals, plants, and people. Equinox Energy – Almost Time to Move Forward

The equinox occurred on March 20. We’ll feel the energy for the next several weeks. (Chart is based on the moment of the equinox.)

With the beautiful, spring-like weather and planets placed in interesting designs, we can contemplate beauty, the dreams of the higher self, and it’s almost time to take action to create a better life. With five planets in Aries, which is appropriately symbolized by the ram, we feel the “push” to initiate action, but it’s best to wait a week or two to think about ideas thoroughly because the planets in Aries co-join the disruptive square with Uranus/Pluto.

When combined with several planets in fire, Uranus can feel combustive and can bring sudden change. It’s wise to create a strategy based on the desires of the inner self—and slowly move into this plan with a “cool” head. Along with this, we are clearing karma from the past age, past lives, and releasing trauma (Neptune, Chiron, and South Node in Pisces.) These feelings, sensations, and opportunities will extend into mid-May.

It’s important to know it’s a time of adjustment. Our feelings may change on a daily basis. We may feel life more strongly than we have in the past because of awakening. Everything feels intense when the light becomes stronger. We also feel more of the darkness and angst because everyone is becoming more intuitive. (This is also part of working through the karmic past.)

The Sun (life), Mercury (communications), Venus (beauty, love), and Uranus (quantum field, sudden change) are placed in Aries. Aries is the beginning of the zodiac when life turns in the new cycle of the year. Aries is ruled by Mars (assertion and action), and it’s a passionate fire sign, which can awaken our feelings to expand and alter the course of life. (It would be perfect except that their energy aligns with Uranus in Aries, which can make energy move in cosmic—or very strange—directions.

Mercury affects all forms of communications including internet, transportation, emails, and conversations. Mercury in Aries hastens the process in a brusque way. (Mercury rules air, and it prefers clarity and time to think deeply. Mercury in Aries simply wants action.)

Venus, the ruler of love and beauty, is also placed in Aries. She is passionate and can be compulsive with this placement. With Venus retrograde, it’s important to realize love may feel as if it is fading or aspects of life are not so exciting. It’s helpful to remember that we are loved by the universe, and love will return to our lives in a renewed form.

Mars (assertion, male energy) is placed in Taurus, an earth sign governing possessions and material goods. It also gives connection to the earth and nature, which is useful with this volatile chart. This is a calming position that helps in finding grounding and seeing the beauty of life.

Jupiter (good fortune) sits in Libra, the only air sign in the chart. Air lends clarity to thought; it helps to separate passion and beliefs from the mind. (For example, I believe this because I was raised in this way. Maybe, it’s not true.) Jupiter in Libra also helps in finding beauty, balance, and grace on the walk of everyday life.

Saturn (discipline, karma) remains in Sagittarius, continuing the emphasis on soul searching, personal discipline, and the value of the spiritual life. Neptune (mysticism), Chiron (wounded healer), and South Node (solutions, which are no longer applicable) are placed in Pisces, indicating the importance of working through the drama and karma of the past age.

Notes

  • Mars (assertion) trines Saturn, which can give insight in taking the right, disciplined action—particularly through deliberate, meditative focus.
  • Saturn (limitation) trines Uranus, hinting at progress and good fortune through spiritual discipline.
  • The cardinal cross can make life feel very tense. It’s helpful to know it’s only a feeling. It disappears when meditating and/or when connected to the inner self.
  • There is very, powerful energy for creating change. With focus, it can be employed to create big, positive shifts.
  • Continue to work with karma and negative feelings/thoughts. Remember that emotion can change through positive focus and effort.
