Full Moon Forecast: Embracing Change

After a week of stormy skies, the moon appeared, almost full, and luminous—changing the night sky into a beautiful shade of deep blue. Under these soft skies, the full Moon appears on Sept. 6, and Mercury (at last) moves direct, offering clarity of thought and enhanced communications. Only three planets are in retrograde, extending an opportunity to move forward with plans and development of talents and gifts.

The prevalence of fire continues in this chart. Fortunately, Sun (outer life) and Mars (action) are placed in Virgo, an earth sign. Earth offers grounding, vitality, and connection with nature, and Virgo can represent a mystical priestess attuned to the sublime knowledge—or the human quest for perfection, order, and detail. Either way, earth signs open us to the sensuality of our physicality and the beauty of nature.

The Full Moon rises in Pisces, a water sign. Full Moons bring fruition, rain, and germination, so emphasis on water (flooding, fertility, the feminine, emotions) continues. The Moon (inner self, emotions) conjuncts (close to) Neptune, the ruler of seas, the astral world, and illusion/mysticism. The placement brings a mystical, intuitive element to the chart. With  the Moon/Neptune conjunction, dreams/delusion and truth/illusion are part of the influence. It’s beautiful, dreamy, and confusing.

Sun in Virgo and Moon in Pisces square Saturn (time, karma), which may result in sensations of loneliness and/or pensiveness. Sun opposes Neptune (mysticism, idealism), making it difficult to separate illusion and truth. On the positive, Sun trines Pluto (underworld, transmutation), and it can bring regeneration, strength, and the power to overcome obstacles such as those listed above.

Mercury is now direct. Placed in Virgo, it forms a Grand Trine with Saturn (time, karma) and Uranus (awakening/sudden change.) On another level, it can represent applying lessons from the past with awareness (awakening) to create a new future—or using symbols of the past to create sudden upsets and deter awakening. It’s all about where we put our thoughts. (Mercury and Mars (action) are conjunct (close), so our thoughts are likely to incur action and/or a material result.)

Venus

Venus is warm and fiery in Leo, which rules the heart. This placement benefits relationships and monetary matters. Venus (love, material goods, relationships) trines Saturn (lessons, karma), which can give a clear view and good judgement about partnerships and relationships. It’s a stabilizing aspect and increases energy for dealing with trying aspects of relationships.

Mars (action, masculine) is in Virgo, a calmer placement than Leo, which was experienced in recent weeks. Mars forms a lovely Grand Trine with Saturn and Uranus. Again, the planetary energies focus on lessons of the past and the creation of the new world. (Contrast and compare Charlottesville and Houston.) These energies emphasize the importance of acting to share our inner truth, encourage others and send positive messages.

Changing Energies

Jupiter (good fortune) opposes Uranus.  (Jupiter expands, and Uranus seeks change.) In this opposition, Jupiter enlarges our need for a new realty while Uranus brings electrical bolts of energy. The opposition is apparent in the outer world with flooding, fire, and earthquakes. It involves social change, alterations in the workings of relationships, and revolution. Additionally, Jupiter squares (tension) Pluto (underworld), which concerns the earth’s resources. It is about finding and creating justice with monetary systems as well as protecting the earth.

Almost every planet in the chart aspects Saturn, indicating the importance of revisiting the past to identify important values and discard worn-out principles. For example, we’re weeding away structures from the Piscean Age while hopefully mastering unconditional, mystical love with healthy boundaries. Saturn also teaches the importance of continued effort and devotion, which activates the power of the higher collective mind.

Uranus, the electrical planet of awakening and sudden change, trines Mercury, Mars, Venus, and North Node. While the energy is positive, it’s also amplified by the trines, which means manifestation takes place more quickly than usual. Thought (Mercury), love (Venus), and Mars (action) compose part of the dynamic, so stay centered as much as possible. Uranus’ conjunction with North Node in Leo (spiritual direction) indicates the value of following the heart and releasing desires of the ego.

Sun (life) and Saturn (time, karma) square Neptune (illusion, mysticism), diluting and confounding our ability to read life accurately. Illusion and truth are intertwined in these squares, and it’s not unusual to feel confused or misled. But it will pass. (It’s helpful to ask for a clear mind and the presence of truth.)

The chart represents many aspects of global life including intense emotion (Moon/Neptune), increased ability to manifest through thought and action (Grand Trines with Mercury/Mars), balancing the past and future (aspects with Saturn/Uranus), and confusion–which is part of planetary change. It is possible to derive both power and insights at the time of Full Moon, but it’s also necessary to continue the simple tasks of meditation, centering, and focusing on the heart.

Tips:

  1. The outer planets, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, are aspected in this chart, meaning the energies refer to awakening and change in the outer, global world as well as within the self.
  2. Sun and Moon square Saturn, which can cause feelings of sadness or disappointment about the self, success, or the state of the world. It will pass in a few days. Keep the faith.
  3. Grand Trines with Mercury and Mars tend to put our thoughts and actions into physical form more quickly than usual. Take time to focus on inner desires and their outcome. Review before taking action.
  4. Aspects with Neptune can cause difficultly in discerning truth and illusion. Life can feel confusing and/or inspiring, depending on the placement of consciousness.
  5. True safety comes from aligning with the inner self and the universe. Many good “things” are on the way. Remain patient.

Helping the World

Our light is one of the best things to offer to the world when the energetic and physical weather is stormy and chaotic. We send light from our heart and soul, and it alters everything it touches because light is the highest vibration in the universe.

We also alter a great deal when we learn to see and feel life differently—as opposed to the lower, negative vibrations, which are learned from our culture. When we see solutions and send love, life changes. When many of us focus, the solution often comes.

  • It only takes a few moments to send light, love, or a prayer. When a place, situation, or person appears in the mind, send light. Sending light is always useful. (Of course, the “wattage” of our light is a determining factor in any outcome. For this reason, every spiritual and philosophical system urges mediation, prayer, and inner contemplation as these practices raise our vibrations. Obviously, it’s helpful to practice and connect before sending light.)
  • When we are in the path of a storm or earth change, it’s helpful to protect the area around us as opposed to attempting to alter the weather. We can see everything as secure, peaceful, and safe around us. (A ten mile radius is easiest.) Using sacred geometry such as a pyramid or a circle is also useful.
  • When viewing photos of people in distress, see the opposite. Send comfort, peace, and love. Visualize the area as the opposite of the photo or image. (Seeing or employing the opposite energy balances energy. It is one of the foundations of Eastern medicine. For example, treat hot with cold when a person has a fever.
  • Detach from any fear about earth changes or global unrest. Instead, focus on the part of the self that is always connected, safe, and peaceful. Think about how we are all divinely connected through the inner self.Imagine support and help (on the physical plane) flowing into the situation. Angels and higher beings come in many forms, ranging those who are inspired to help, miraculous synchronicities, and alterations in frequency and consciousness. (When we cannot physically help – save through donations and prayers – we can visualize many positive changes.)

Developing Our Skills

Part of spiritual development involves helping others because we are connected by threads of luminous light. As we connect to light and learn to send love – as a pure energy – our personal frequency soars, and our vibrations increase. Of course, we can only send love and light correctly when our intention is pure with a true desire to help and heal.

  • Light is best extended to others and geographical locations when our vibration, the pulse of our entire being, is high. A state of connection can be created through meditation, observing nature, and listening to the inner self.
  • It may require many repetitions. Part of practice is patience. Send light and love whenever the mind moves to a particular situation—personal or global. Release any negative thoughts such as worry, identification with pain and loss, and desire for a particular outcome. (The universe knows where the energy goes and how to best apply it.)
  • After sending, ask if the meditation was effective—or if it requires adjustments. (Learn to listen for a yes or no.) Be creative and work to change imagery and feelings. Notice your feelings for the next hour or so. (Sending light correctly should feel energizing and supportive. Sending too much energy can feel draining.)
  • People, who meditate and focus on the heart, are more powerful than they think. Imagine 1 million people sending light to an area for an entire day. It does have an impact.
  • As we learn how to effectively send light to others, we develop many skills, which are useful in personal growth and cosmic evolution. As always, the universe adjusts our efforts, makes corrections, and sends suggestions. Listen.

Gently Altering the World

Maybe, we can’t change the world instantly, but there is a great deal we can do in the world around us.

Part of the challenge lies in becoming creative–and seeing and feeling something different. If we hold light and change our perception, we alter the frequency around us. This act also leads to knowledge of the inner self.

Here are my favorite techniques.

  1. Focus on a personal feeling of peace. Notice how it feels and expand this inner state to the surrounding area. Imagine everyone and everything encompassed n a wave of peace. Feel the peace like waves in an ocean.
  2. Send pink light to every particle and atom in the space around you. Pink light is unconditional love, and it lifts everything in its sphere. (Sometimes, it’s easier to send pink light as opposed to “love” because we color the feeling of love with many personal preferences.)
  3. It’s important to learn to pause whenever we feel discordant energy between ourselves and another human being. It’s helpful to pull back our energy and briefly see the other person’s point of view or feeling. From this place, imagine seeing their inner light. (This is simply to clear energy and remove them from our energy field.) In general, pause whenever emotions are strong. Pull back into the inner self.
  4. Separate from mass consciousness (lower global consciousness, including emotion) often. The entire world is changing, and it moves between light and darkness. Ask for alignment with the inner self when life feels heavy and difficult. Focus on the feeling of the flow when accompanied by a wave of happiness. (The overall energy should change in an hour or two.)
  5. Learn to see the opposite of the difficult side of life. The images in our mind travel very quickly as we become more psychic. If we focus on a negative, world happening, we actually intensify it. It’s helpful to see the opposite of the difficulty, move into the heart, and ask the universe to provide the feeling of an answer. (Of course, it’s also helpful to send the feeling of the answer out into the world. Somewhere, someone is meditating and/or praying. They will receive the feeling and amplify it.)
  6. Spend time in nature. Ground the body and take time to see the perfection of leaves, flowers, and wildlife. This practice eases the pressure, aligning body and spirit.
  7. Practice faith, hope, and courage. It takes faith to create strong, positive visions. It takes courage to continue to see them, and it requires faith and hope to make a consistent effort. But it’s also how we learn to believe in ourselves–and our inner work.

After the Eclipse

Beautiful, new energies came in with the eclipse, and everyone, who is awakening, will eventually feel and experience them. At this point, we’re grounding the high energies from Monday’s eclipse through the creative and fiery pattern offered by four trines with Uranus (awakening, sudden change.) It’s likely that we “received” an intuitive plan to change our lives, but time is required to manifest changes in the invisible, spiritual world.

The planetary influences remain creative and intense. Fortunately, the planets are moving into balance with an equal distribution between the elements of earth (physicality), water (emotion, flow), fire (creativity, spirituality) and air (mind). Saturn moves direct on August 25, which will help with work, finances, and structure, and five planets in retrograde provide time for thought and reflection.

The Sun is placed in Virgo, a feminine earth sign, which gives the power to translate our recent experiences and creativity into physical form.  Virgo is represented by the virgin priestess, who utilizes mystical secrets to alter the flow of matter. (Earth teaches us how our desires translate into form along with many, practical lessons.)

Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn trine Uranus, awakening divine consciousness for those, who live in the light, and bringing upsets and restlessness to individuals, who align with a lower vibration. (It’s part of the vibration of divisiveness, which has surfaced in past weeks.)

An emphasis on emotion–throughout the weekend—occurs with Moon in Libra. Almost every planet aspects the moon, denoting a period of unusual, eclectic, or eccentric energy. Moon conjuncts (close to) Jupiter, which is harmonious and amplifies the possibility of good fortune. Moon squares (tension) Venus (love, partnerships) and Pluto (underworld, transformation); it opposes Uranus (awakening, sudden change), which means our emotions regarding love (Venus) and resources (Pluto) can slow our awakening (Uranus).

Mercury (communications) retrograde is also in Virgo and conjuncts the Sun (outer life). This conjunction can aid in linking the higher mind and the fabric of outer life. Mercury retrograde in Virgo can yield unusual, creative information, including intuitions and thoughts that we wouldn’t normally experience. (Use the normal cautions with Mercury retro, avoid starting something new, avoid signing contracts, and use the time to review and complete projects.)

Venus in Cancer squares (tension) Jupiter (good fortune) and Uranus (awakening, sudden change), creating an emphasis on examining our thoughts and feelings about relationships, love, and good fortune. Venus in Cancer tends to amplify sensitivity and emotions, which can lower or heighten our vibrations, depending on the placement of consciousness. (It makes loving relationships more difficult.)

Mars sits in a Grand Trine with Saturn and Uranus. (Grand Trines increase the potential of manifestation.) Mars rules energy and assertion. Saturn gives structure and insight from the past, and Uranus urges us to move beyond our limitations by experiencing more of the quantum field.  (We may receive ideas about altering our lives or moving in a new direction.)

Jupiter in Libra is opposite Uranus, presenting a contrast between Jupiter’s desire to flow with the beautiful aspects of life and Uranus’ need to expand life through sudden, dramatic change. (It may be best to take time to experience both energies at different times during the week. Jupiter also squares Pluto (underworld, transformation), and this tends amplify our need for success and wealth, which can be seen in the outer world. But it’s important to take action from the heart with sincerity and honesty.

Saturn moves direct, propelling our lives into new shapes and structures after months of review. Saturn in Sagittarius trines Uranus, encouraging the use of knowledge from the past to create a new future, particularly in a spiritual sense along with a new vision of the world. Saturn squares Neptune (illusion, mysticism), meaning the world at large tends to have difficulty discerning truth and illusion. Saturn also trines the North Node in Leo, which aids with separating out truth and illusion about our own lives—and our spiritual quest.

Uranus (awakening) trines North Node in Leo (current spiritual purpose), strengthening our ability to create change on the basis of the inner self. Neptune (mysticism, illusion) sextiles Pluto (underworld, transformation). This aspect helps in releasing “old” aspects of life and moving on into new reality, based on higher consciousness. It’s another aspect of inner transformation, accentuated by five planets in retrograde. In many ways, this is the perfect time to dream up a new life, release the old, and reflect on life.

New Moon/Powerful Solar Eclipse

It’s a red-hot chart for the solar eclipse on Monday, August 21 with seven planets placed in fire. The element of fire inspires, ignites, and excites; it exudes passion, excitement, and a desire for the quest. It’s electrical, intense energy that confers sparks of creativity and emotion.

While the chart is fabulous, presenting many, harmonious trines and aspects with Uranus (new age, sudden change, awakening), there is a passive quality imbued by six planets in retrograde and the New Moon phase. (The New Moon acts as a void. In the physical world, everything lies dormant during this time.  The same is true with retrogrades.)

Any eclipse is like throwing a circuit breaker; the energy goes off and on. But it’s more intense with a solar eclipse, and this one is definitely a big event. It contains some of the best aspects and energies in months, but it’s important to meditate and focus on dreams and desires that relate to the inner self. (It’s definitely not about everything moving into a higher form—all at once. It’s about finding our inner light and using it to shape life.)

Sun and Moon are conjunct on Leo 29, symbolized by “A Mermaid Waiting for a Prince to Bring Her Immortality”. In fairy tales and myth, the prince/princess symbolizes the union of the two sides of the self—the physical and spiritual. Obviously, this is our quest. Additionally, it’s denoted by the conjunction (close to) of Sun, Moon, and Mars to the North Node, which represents our spiritual purpose.

Sun (life), Moon (inner self, emotions), and Mars (action, masculine) trine Saturn (time, karma) in Sagittarius and Uranus (awakening, sudden change) in Aries. They are Grand Trines, which make it easier to create desires in physical form. The challenge lies in discerning the desires that align with the inner self as opposed to simply creating the opportunities that we think we want.

It’s likely that meditation can bring realizations, insights, and intuitions about the path of integration, but it will take time to unravel the information. Mercury (communications, mind) is retrograde in Virgo, which can help in a surprising sense by opening the right brain and encouraging healing and creativity.  (Mercury can represent the Trickster or the Higher Mind, which is accessed through the heart.)

Venus (love, material abundance, feminine) in Cancer exaggerates emotion in a “charged” chart. It can amplify sensitivity and emotional energy.  Venus square Jupiter can undermine motivation and interest in money and wealth. Venus opposes Pluto (subconscious, transmutation), which can bring passion and intensity or jealous and obsessiveness.

Mars (action, masculine) in Leo brings a desire for creative, passionate action, but it’s best to wait and reflect. Mars trine Uranus brings wonderful, innovative ideas, but the energy is uncertain and a bit erratic for putting ideas into form. (While waiting for a better time, create a beautiful notebook with fabulous ideas along with a schedule for bringing them into form. Send light to it each day.) With Mars in Leo, the caution always lies with the explosive quality of emotion and drama. (The opposite state involves remaining centered and calm.)

Jupiter in Libra increases the desire for beauty, balance, and justice. An opposition with Uranus can intensify feelings of boredom and bring a desire for sudden change. Jupiter squares Pluto, indicating a tendency to stretch too much into possibility and opportunity. It’s wise to stay practical and align with the energy by taking small, focused steps.

Retrograde and Outer Planets

Uranus

The Solar Eclipse/New Moon Chart presents a number of aspects. Many planets including Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and Chiron are in retrograde position. When many planets are in retrograde, it is a time to review, rest, and dream.

Sun, Moon and Mars in Leo trine Saturn in Sagittarius, amplifying the ability to use spiritual and physical lessons in the past to create a more orderly, aligned life. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars and Saturn also trine Uranus, opens our mind to greater concepts of awakening and possibility.

Sun, Moon, and Mars conjunct the North Node (spiritual aspiration and direction), and Saturn and Uranus trine the North Node. In many ways, the chart is culmination of viewing life from the heart—and with courage—as we work together to combine the old and new worlds as a creation of love and light.

Tips:

  • It’s important to think about the power of manifestation—and the possibility of larger, better creations in the light. We may want to learn how to send light instead of reacting—or see a different outcome in place of a difficult one.
  • Light comes from inner work. We find it in meditation and reflection. Six planets in retrograde support the need for reflection and introspection.
  • With many planets in fire, there is a desire for action. But it’s not the right time. Use visualization, call angels and guides, and know the right time is coming. Wait.
  • We’re receiving a great deal of information about change and integration of time (Saturn) and awakening (Uranus). The eclipse will deliver new energies, but it will probably take time to translate them into clear thoughts, concepts, and forms.
  • Watch emotions and work to stay centered. It’s not the time for dramatic outbursts. Stay focused on work and routines. Build a better version of the self in the physical world.

Sabian Symbols based on Lynda Hill’s interpretations

Sabian symbols give an additional interpretation for the degree of each planet.

Sun and Moon are on Leo 29, “A Mermaid Has Climbed to the Rocky Shore of a Bleak Coast; She Awaits the Prince Who Will Bring Her Immortality.” The mermaid represents the water element–a deeper understanding of unconditional love and emotion, which results from spiritual work. The Prince represents the inner self, the relationships developed and deepened from intuitional work.

Immortality—or life without duality—is a result of understanding spiritual law. It is also the conscious expression of the “true” self in physical life that results from change, sacrificing aspects of the outer self, and shaping reality into new forms.

Mercury retrograde is placed on Virgo 9, “An Expressionist Painter Making a Futuristic Drawing.” A painter creates a representation of what s/he sees and experiences in the physical world. A futurist painter uses creativity to represent his/her perception of the future.

The symbol can relate to the need to project thoughts, images, and ideas into the future for possible manifestation. Rather than simple reviewing ideas, it’s important to align the imagery with a structure, which contains the possibility of realization—and to take action to put them into form.

Venus sits on Cancer 25, “A Leader of Men Wrapped in an Invisible Cloak of Power.”  The Invisible Cloak refers to the power of good, which includes inner beauty and strength. All power involves the “test” of right use.

We must find the appropriate way of sharing our power of light, which involves love, healing, and help—without enabling the weak or helping those who may misuse it. There’s also a responsibility to develop our gifts and share them accordingly. On a higher level, individuals, who are aligned with light, have a cloak of power and protection known as the universal force.

NOTE: Aspects with Venus are difficult this week, and it’s important to know the “cloak” of power is there—even when we don’t feel it.

Mars is placed on Leo 21, “Intoxicated Chickens Dizzily Flap Their Wings Trying to Fly.” The symbol refers to intoxication of some kind through food or water. The substance has caused the chickens to forget their limitations. (While chickens can fly—if their wings are not clipped—the symbol refers to overriding our abilities and forgetting to see our limitations.)

Mars is action, and it refers to our work in the physical world. It’s important to mentally review projects on a practical level before taking action. With Mercury retrograde, it’s particularly important.

Jupiter is placed on Libra 21, “A Crowd upon a Beach”. The symbol depicts many people in a lovely location, enjoying the sun and water. A beach is typically a place for relaxation and connection with nature. (Mingling with a crowd can feel wonderful or lonely, but the enjoyment of nature is a wonderful aspect of life.) NOTE: Many of us will meet in nature while watching the eclipse!

Moving through the Shifts of Time

A great many shifts are taking place, particularly with the New Moon/Solar Eclipse cycle.  Everyone is passing through a number of small (and large) realizations about life, energy, and the cosmos at large. The energy is intense and changing at a rapid rate. When we understand what it happening and how it affects us, we move more quickly into a higher level of light.

  1. The universe is revealing the truth about our lives, enlarging our perception, and exposing the world at large. At this juncture, the big reveal comes in a strange way. We may perceive higher frequencies and suddenly know how the new, “higher” frequency reality will feel. We may feel dismayed by violence, discrimination, or the world-at-large. We may have moments of realization about how our lives need expansion, the energy of other people, and the need to align with our inner identity. We may feel the weight of mass consciousness–or perceive the immense power of love and meditation on the world. (For those who are more awakened, we may feel surprised when we observe instead of reacting–or resist the push/pull effect of this particular time.)
  2. The shift affects time. As we move into awakening, we mitigate karma. When we transmute karma, our timelines (or memories of this and other lives) alter–simply because we no longer “vibrate” with these types of energy.
  3. Flashes of memories and rapid thought at bedtime are interspersed with periods of deep sleep. The flashes of memories relate to a process of clearing and cleansing our energies throughout this lifetime. The periods of deep sleep relate to healing and discovering more of our true identity–the inner self.
  4. Emotions and the energetic flow of the body change with awakening. We may feel very tired one day and energized on the following day. Additionally, dreams may reveal our lack of confidence, incorrect perceptions, or our ability to change the entire picture through connection with the inner self. (Many of our personal issues can relate to our connection with world consciousness. For example, grief connects us with people who are grieving. A feeling of lack leads to connection with others, who feel they do not have enough. Part of the issue involves changing our image of the world through improvement of personal feelings and vision of the world.)
  5. The flow of life changes on a frequent basis. The energy shifts and feels differently with solar flares, shifts in the geo-magnetic field, and astrological events. As we become more connected, we feel the energy of world events on a deeper level. The seasons and positions of the sun and moon are changing. We are becoming accustomed to “not” knowing how life will feel, which can put us in the flow.
  6. Relationships are changing. As we grow, we continue to move into relationships with people who want to evolve. Sometimes, we simply lack the energy to persist with relationships based on negativity and/or lower energies. We’re also releasing soul contracts, which are agreements to interact in a specific way. (Groups of people with higher frequencies will come together on a conscious level.)
  7. We’re learning to live from the heart, which means intuitively feeling, hearing, and seeing information. It’s how we perceive the invisible and spiritual world, listen to animals, and evolve. It’s also how we perceive the currents of our thoughts and feelings, which influence manifestation to a great degree.

Finding Higher Frequencies

Everything is related. When following a desire, we increase and diminish parts of life. Time is a simple example. When we delve into our spiritual practice, we take time away from a previous pursuit. When we see the beauty in nature, we discard other thoughts. (When I write this, I think of nothing else.)

With the influx of energies, there is a shift in perception, feelings, and responses to energy. Many people are awakening and bringing more light to the planet. As awakening continues, we perceive life differently because light causes everything to move at a higher frequency.

Here are a few insights:

  1. As we become more conscious, our awareness shifts. We become aware that “reality” shifts, spins, and stirs with the state of our consciousness, which is reflected in the flow of events. (This may cause positive and negative events in life such as the falling away of specific relationships and/or unexpected opportunities.)
  2. We affect “life” and our lives more than we want to admit. Our lower thoughts and feelings may attract an irritable person, and higher thoughts may pull in a flow of love. (For example, the sun shines when we think a higher thought, or we receive a pleasant email from a loved one.) Conversely, we can also become more sensitive to the negative energy of others, which can mean altering relationships, learning to communicate in a different way, or changing an aspect of life.
  3. Consciousness connects us more deeply to all sources of information and energy. We feel life more intensely. We may feel more drawn or repelled to particular sources of information. Our higher consciousness begins to direct us more strongly. (As we become more intuitive, our “reads” and feelings become more accurate–and are felt more forcefully.)
  4. Energetic changes affect us more. For example, we may feel tired or over-energized with the current planetary changes. We may experience calm or anxiety. (Meditation–and water–help with swings.)
  5. Swings in duality – the movement of emotions and thoughts – may seem stronger. When we experience the inner self, consciousness moves into a place of being centered. It focuses on “ONE” point. Naturally, we’re more aware of the motion after a quiet experience.
  6. Part of the shift can feel painful because it means moving away from people that we refuse to grow and/or releasing aspects of life that are meaningful to us. In a real sense, we’re leaving the past behind, but it doesn’t always feel easy or comfortable.
  7. Increased consciousness brings awareness of our impact on our internal/external state. We begin to understand how our happiness and unhappiness respond to our internal dialog, old beliefs, and expectations. With this awareness, life shifts.
  8. “Giving” and “helping” are subtly changing. We can hold a vision or send light to anyone, but our spiritual help is balanced with the spiritual commitment and effort of the receiver. (In the Piscean Age, healers and light workers gave in a different way by pouring out energy whenever they felt led to share and help. In the Aquarian Age, we balance and gauge energy for the best effect.)
  9. During flashes of awakening, we perceive a beautiful future in a balanced world. There is a feeling of reassurance, comfort, and support. (We may wonder where it is in difficult moments, but it is how the universe shares its visions—and activates it through our light.)

Fiery New Moon

The New Moon appears at 5:45 am ET on Sunday, July 23. Turn on the air conditioning–this new moon chart is hot!  With seven planets placed in fire signs, it’s a summer heat wave that precedes the upcoming Lion’s Gate and the Lunar/Solar Eclipses.

Typically, the New Moon brings a still point—a pause before a new cycle of life begins. With Sun (life), Moon (emotions), Mercury (thought, communications), and Mars (action, masculine) placed in Leo, we’ll definitely feel inspiration and/or emotion. (The challenge lies in directing and containing the flames.)

Fire at its best brings heightened passion, spiritual longings, purification and a desire to tread the path of the heart. It’s also creative and loves to mingle with universal currents by transforming intuitive leads into spiritual desires and pursuits. The “lower” side of fire includes strong emotional reactions, selfishness, and a need for drama. (Astrology reflects the dual nature of the planet; we choose the cause/effect through placement of consciousness.)

Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars all sit in Leo, a fire sign represented by the lion. Leo rules the heart, and it is generous and courageous. The fiery energy is heightened by the conjunction between Sun, Moon, and Mars—in addition to a fiery Grand Trine. (Mars also squares Uranus, heightening frustrations and emotions.) North Node (spiritual direction for the planet) is also placed in Leo, suggesting the importance of honing our thoughts and emotions to grow in a spiritual direction. By attuning to the heart, it’s possible to hear and feel the vibration.

A Grand Trine bestows lovely creativity and heightened ability to manifest with Mercury (thought, communication) in Leo, Saturn (karma, time) in Sagittarius, and Uranus in Aries (sudden change, quantum field.) It’s a wonderful time to manifest more awakening and magic along with a happier, more peaceful life. (Grand Trines are powerful, so make a wish!)

Mercury (thought, communications) sits in Leo, conveying creative images and thoughts—and making it easier to connect visualizations with the heart. Mercury trines Saturn (karma, time), giving a harmonious ability to align new ideas with lessons learned in the past. It also trines Uranus, heightening our ability to create and communicate in an original and innovative way.

Venus (feminine, beauty, possessions) is placed in Gemini, the dual air sign of the twins. Venus Is light, talkative, and gregarious in this position—and air (clear thought) is valuable because it expands clear thinking about issues surrounding love and partnerships. Venus trines Jupiter (good fortune) in Libra, indicating that the flow of loving, positive thoughts heighten good fortune. Venus also opposes (opposite) Saturn (time, karma), which can bring feelings of insecurity and personal doubt. (They are only temporary and will pass in time.)

Venus (love, relationships) and Saturn (time, karma) square Neptune (illusion, mysticism), adding a veil of confusion to the mix. It may be difficult to see through illusion when focusing on love and/or decisions that involve a passage of time.

Mars (assertion, masculine) in Leo causes major difficulty in the chart, transforming errant emotions into frustrations and anger through its square (tension) with Uranus (quantum field, sudden change.) Mars can act as a warrior, and part of the challenge of Mars lies in using discipline to pause and respond—rather than floundering into reaction. Additionally, Mars trines Chiron (the wounded healer), hinting that this attitude can bring profound healing.

Jupiter remains in Libra with a focus on balance, beauty, and light. It also squares Pluto (the underworld, transformation), which increases the outer world’s desire for success, wealth, and attainments in the physical world.

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) remains in Aries throughout 2017. Fortunately, it no longer squares Pluto, but it does form aspects with Sun/Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn. Five aspects with Uranus provide an electrical connection. (Uranus is a bit like a roller coaster; it can pull our energy up or down. Its direction responds to our placement of consciousness.)

The energies with Pluto are relatively clear, and we won’t miss Pluto’s dark current of the subconscious and flow of transformation for a few days. Aspects with Chiron are powerful and positive with a trine featuring. Sun, Moon, and Mercury, heightening the possibility of using fire (spiritual passion) to cleanse and mitigate our inner wounds. It’s an excellent time to seek a healer and/or guide—and seize the moment to move into the next level of spiritual life.

Tips:

  • Focus on the positive attributes provided by Leo, which includes generosity, positive drama (playing, attending social activities, and parties), and live from the heart. Use excess energy to write, paint, and create. Burn off the intensity through physical exercise and work.
  • Apply the energies of the Grand Trine to manifest wisely and wonderfully. (Mercury, thought + Saturn, time/karma + Uranus, innovation/Quantum Field. See as heart thoughts coupled with insights from the past/karma can lead to realizations, which are activated by the Quantum Field.
  • Venus (love, personal possessions) trines Jupiter (good fortune). Use clarity of mind to pull in pleasing moments and opportunities—and a positive focus around relationships.
  • Think before you speak and/or act. Mars (assertion, male) conjuncts Uranus (rapid change/quantum field.), which can bring volatile reactions.
  • It’s a hot chart with many planets placed in fire. Make meditation a priority and visualize a peaceful flow of events.

Sabian Symbols

This reading of the symbols is based on Lynda Hill’s work. The symbols act as a guide, providing additional information about the placement and energy of planets. (I enjoy the additional perception offered by the symbols as they reveal a great deal about the underlying theme of the chart.)

Sun and Moon are on Leo 1, and the Sabian Symbol is perfect for the astrological chart, “Under Emotional Stress, Blood Rushes to a Man’s Head.” Emotions and ambitions cause reactions, but decisions are best made from a place of peace and calm. Meditate before taking action.

Mercury at Leo 27 sits on “Daybreak—the Luminescence of Dawn in the Eastern Sky.” Daybreak represents renewal of life, the appearance of the sun on the horizon and light-giving light. By moving into the higher consciousness, represented by light, we can find illumination in the agitated mind, presented by the degree of sun and moon.

Venus is on Gemini 21, “A Tumultuous Labor Demonstration.” A demonstration involves voicing perceptions of unhappiness, unfairness, and a lack of balance. It can represent overreaction or a desire for peace and democracy. (Venus sits on this degree, so it is likely to pertain to feelings about relationships)

Mars sits on Leo 2, “An Epidemic of Mumps” can represent contagion—a thought, principle, or physical illness that spreads through groups of people. It can also relate to fear and angry emotions. With Mars on this degree, it may refer to the high anger/fear level of mass consciousness.

Jupiter is placed on Libra 16, “After the Storms of Winter, A Boat Landing Stands in Need of Reconstruction.” A storm blasts through a psychological or physical structure, leaving ruin in its wake. (Many of us have passed through this alteration in the past few years.) Now, recovery, rebuilding, and healing can take place.

Saturn is on Sagittarius 23, “A Group of Immigrants Fulfilling the Requirements for Entering a New Country.” If we view the “new” country as the next level of the New Age, the symbol offers a revelation. It’s time for those, who have meditated and focused on love, to enter life at a new level of awareness.

Uranus sits on Aries 29, “The Music of the Spheres.”  This symbolic represents the melodious interaction of the spiritual world in the physical world—if we perceive it. The seven days of the week coincide with the seven chakras and colors of light, the twelve hours of the day align with the numerical process of completion, etc.
