Full Moon Forecast: More Change

astronomyconstellation

It’s a volatile forecast for the full moon on October 16. Sun and Mercury are in Libra, a beautiful air sign with a focus on balance. The Full Moon appears in Aries, a fire sign. Aries is the beginning of new motion; it’s forceful and headstrong.  The conflict begins with Moon (feminine, emotion, the mother) conjunct or close to Uranus. Both signs are in Aries, and Uranus promotes sudden change.

It’s not difficult to link the equation of emotion (Moon) and sudden change (Uranus). It simply means our emotions will be a bit unstable and erratic. On the plus side, it can mean brilliantly, inspired connection—or it can bring instability. As usual, the choice is ours, but awareness is key because we can choose to observe swings in mood and evaluate at a later date.

In the big picture, change is coming into our lives—whether we want it or not. If we were waiting for a special time or resisted the motion of the universe, we don’t have to worry. The desired change—or some sort of change—is already on the way. (Many aspects in this chart point to non-traditional change. Planets aligned with Uranus and Pluto bring different currents of energy into our awareness.)

Additionally, Uranus and Eris, which is called the 10th planet, are square. Some astrologers believe the square with Eris can move our consciousness into profound transformation; others think it indicates a period of chaos through April 2017. Either way, it brings (more) temporary confusion because the Greek goddess, Eris, symbolizes discord.

Sun (outer life) and Mercury (communication, thought) are opposite Uranus, meaning our pleasant thoughts about life may temporarily seem out of sync with the changes that the universe seeks for us. (Aspects with Uranus tend to come and go with an on/off motion. By holding tightly to a higher vision, life often rearranges itself into a higher form.)

Mercury (communication, thought) in Libra squares Mars (action, masculine) in Capricorn. There will be a tendency to float through life with beautiful thoughts, but Mars asks for physical structure and changes in the material world.

Jupiter (good fortune) and Saturn (limitation, time, work) offer more harmonious aspects. Jupiter sextiles Saturn, meaning harmony and good fortune are possible if we stay disciplined, balanced, and focused on our spiritual path. Saturn trines Uranus, which means an opportunity for taming the wild Uranian energy into a form that is compatible with our personal karma.

Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus are currently square Pluto, which has a strong tendency to dredge up the subterranean depths of the subconscious. Memories, which reveal patterns, may rise to surface. We may feel our fears or glimpse the forces behind problems in our lives.

Pluto’s strength is transmutation, the act of taking darkness and transforming into light. Pluto reveals truth, which is ultimately freeing. There is great freedom in seeing through illusion, but it’s rarely a comfortable ride.

Notes

  • Uranus brings connection with the Divine, an ability to move into heightened awareness, innovation, and invention. It can also bring contradictory and unstable feelings. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Eris aspect Uranus
  • Moon conjunct Uranus can make emotions erratic. Wait before making big decisions.
  • Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Uranus square Pluto. This type of square has caused much personal turmoil since 2012. Pluto pulls things from the subconscious and the darker side of life for transformation. Meditate when possible and focus on the positive.
  • Saturn trines Uranus, indicating discipline and positive, consistent action can help with cosmic change.
  • It’s a forceful chart with a great deal of energy to create change in our lives. The symbol for the moon is particularly positive (see below.) It speaks of a positive change of fortune, which is brought by the winds of change.

Sabian Symbols from Lynda Hill

Sun sits on Libra 24, A Third Wing on the Left Side of the Butterfly. A third wing refers to imbalance, a creative overbalance. It also refers to the acceptance of fragility and difference in others as well as empathy for emotional breakdowns and other aspects of oversensitivity.

Moon is placed in Aries 24, An Open Window and a Net Curtain Blowing into the Shape of a Cornucopia. The Cornucopia refers to Abundantia, a Roman Goddess of good fortune and prosperity. A cornucopia can also refer to the fall harvest, a specific time of natural abundance.

It speaks of a change in the wind, which brings a positive change of fortunes. The symbol emphasizes the use of imagination and action to catalyze a desired realization.

Mercury is found on 16 Libra, After the Storms of Winter, A Boat Landing Stands in Need of Reconstruction. This symbol is very appropriate after Hurricane Matthew. Many of our communications are currently focused on this subject.  On a personal level, many people are reconstructing and rebuilding their lives in this time of “new” light.

Venus sits on 28 Scorpio, An Inventor Performs a Laboratory Experiment. Many awakened people are searching for the right focus on consciousness to bring about a change in the world. Alchemy refers to this specific change in consciousness as “laboratory” work, which means creating something new and wondrous from known materials. (With Uranus in the mix, it may be possible.)

Mars is placed on Capricorn 13, A Fire Worshipper Meditates on the Ultimate Realities of Existence. Fire was given to mankind by Prometheus; it was stolen from the Greek gods. Fire produces light to see our path, and it gives warmth. By tending the fire of the heart, we make a great deal of progress on our spiritual path.

Jupiter sits on Libra 8, A Blazing Fireplace in a Deserted Home. Again, fire represents warmth and love. If we see connection with the universe as our spiritual “home”, the fire symbolizes eternal love, which never ceases to support and comfort us.
