The full moon appears at 7:51 pm on March 1. The full moon increases growth, fruition, and manifestation. It heightens our sensations and emotions as well as our ability to visual and create change. (It’s interesting to note that emotions and energy increase around the new moon and full moon as we become more sensitive to light.)
Many planets–Sun (outer life), Mercury (communications), Venus (love), Neptune (mysticism), and Chiron (wounded healer)—are placed in Pisces, a water sign. Pisces is the sign of fishes swimming in opposite directions. The sign of Pisces represents love, understanding, and selflessness. On the opposite duality, Pisces can bring an urge to do nothing but float and escape reality—or experience the sensation of becoming a martyr and/or victim.
Pisces can also represent an “old” soul (as most of us are) and karma. Obviously, five planets in Pisces can significantly increase the experience of emotion. In this case, emotion relates to karmic and habitual patterns, the ability to pause and glimpse a pattern—or observe and direct energy in a new way. (It’s always a challenge, and other aspects such as squares with Mars intensify it.)
Fortunately, Moon is placed in Virgo, an earth sign that is grounded and discriminating. It heightens our ability to think, differentiate, and heal. Moon trines (harmonious) Saturn (karma) and Uranus (change, new age), which aids in grounding, creating balanced ideas, and understanding our karma on a physical level. (For example, understanding the stimuli/events that contribute to sleeplessness, unhappiness, poor diet, etc.)
Mercury (communications) is placed in Pisces, which can lead to connection with our dreams and the cosmos—or heightened emotion from negative thoughts. Like fishes swimming in opposite directions, it can lead us to a higher or lower dimension. It conjuncts (close to) Venus (feminine, relationships), and it can heighten our intelligence about love—and loving ourselves. The trine (harmonious) with Jupiter (good fortune expansion) indicates our dreaminess and focus on love can lead to good fortune.
Venus (love, material possessions) is exalted in Pisces, and it can give a feeling of connection and oneness. It can also heighten emotions. Venus trines (harmonious) Jupiter, indicating this state of oneness and universal love can bring good fortune and expand the better aspects of life, Venus conjuncts (close to) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), heightening the odd feeling of moving in and out of reality—a strange beautiful, dreamy feeling.
Mars (action, masculine) is well placed in the fire sign of Sagittarius, but it simply doesn’t work with the rest of the chart. Sun (outer life), Mercury (communications), Venus (love, relationships) square (create tension) with Mars. Mars, placed in a fire sign, wants bold action, and it is frustrated by the flowing, lovely sensation of Pisces.
Additionally, Mars squares Neptune (mysticism, illusion) and Chiron (the wounded healer.) It does trine (harmonious) Uranus, but it’s difficult to take action on the innovative ideas, delivered by Uranus. The challenge lies in knowing frustrations come and go. It’s not necessary to act and/or express emotion in the moment.
Jupiter in Scorpio (good fortune) trines (harmonious) Neptune (illusion, mysticism) and Chiron (the wounded healer), adding positive energies to the chart. (There are a total of 4 trines with Jupiter, which expands opportunity and can lead to greater success.)
Six planets aspect Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which rules Pisces. Sun, Mercury, and Venus are conjunct (close to), heightening the Piscean influence. Moon in Virgo opposes Neptune, indicating the need to discriminate emotionally between spiritual states and illusion. Mercury squares Neptune, confusing the issue and clouding our ability to differentiate truth and illusion, and Jupiter’s trine with Neptune, increases positive energy and a state of hopefulness.
Uranus (sudden change, awakening) will change signs in May, and this shift can feel like Mercury retrograde when it slows electronics and/or creates small inconveniences. It can also make emotions and thoughts oscillate from low to high—and vice versa. (Fortunately, Uranus responds quickly to positive visualization.) Uranus remains square Pluto as it has periodically since 2012.
- Many planets in Pisces can align the mind and emotions with higher love and mysticism—or exacerbate lower emotions and anxious thoughts. We become more intuitive with many planets in Pisces.
- The impetus of the chart points to overcoming karmic patterns of thought and emotion. The goal is finding “love” and greater universal connection.
- Mercury (communication) and Venus (love) harmoniously trine Jupiter (good fortune), meaning thoughts and feelings, which focus on love can transmute negativity more easily and bring alignment with success and good fortune.
- Mars (action) squares many of the Piscean planets, which can cause anger and other low level emotions. Mars (the desire to act) is frustrated by the squares. (We can’t change anything until we know what bothers us. Make a list of frustrations and continue to work on earlier plans. We can talk and make new plans later when Mars is stronger.)
- An exciting aspect of the chart lies in the power of water (feminine, emotion) to help change the flow of life by finding our universal connection.
