(Astonishing person, incredible story.)

The Time Collector, The Memory Painter, and The Fortune Teller by Gwendolyn Womack. All three novels are mysteries with a psychic twist.. Each book is different but enjoyable for its unusual subject matter.

From the Caves and Jungles of Hindostan by Helena Blavatsky. The book details Blavatsky’s journey through India in 1892, and the writing is slightly stilted. However, there is a mystical quality to her writing as well, and she describes the amazing gurus that she met in odd places. (When I was reading the book, I often dreamed of experiencing the next chapter. At some point, her journey became very real to me.)

By the River Piedra, I Sat Down and Wept by Paulo Coelho. It’s a love story about people who don’t expect to fall in love. Like most mortals, they immediately begin to change for one another, and it never works. But they find redemption in their love. The last chapter sums up much about the darkness and light of human love.
