Deepening Your Inner Connection

Our perception expands when we’re connected. Colors become brighter, love grows more intense, and opportunity beckons. Everything vibrates on a different rhythm. The universe responds, and life changes its course.

Here are a few tips for finding more of your inner connection:

  1. Focus on the beauty. Notice the variations of the sky, the touch of the wind, the color of the earth, the song of the birds, or the motion of the flowers. Watching and observing act to open the heart, allowing the inner voice (intuition) to speak.
  2. Meditate daily—and focus on your inner presence to find your way. Like a light in the darkness, it shines and points out the right direction. Sometimes, it’s only a step, but it eventually becomes a path.
  3. Release the noise. The part of you, which is not real, speaks in a loud voice. Let go of the roar. Observe whenever possible. Listen for the quiet, soft voice.
  4. Engage the imagination. (Imagination is part of creating your reality.) Imagine the next few hours as “better.” Imagine having an incredible connection with your inner self. Imagine something new and different.
  5. Remember the love. Send love to yourself. (Try pink light if it feels difficult.) Think of the people who love you, the animals that fall at your feet, and how love looks when reflected on the face of a “beloved.” (The whole universe is based on love; it’s the light that dances with matter.)
  6. Trust and move into the unknown. It’s a human tendency to repeat the “known.” Sometimes, the unknown contains gestalt answers—insights, which can totally change your perception. It’s okay not to know. Embrace it. (The universe is on your side.)
  7. Watch the energy. Energy changes in accordance with our moods and thoughts. It alters in the presence of different people and situations. It can reflect our past, or it can change in a few seconds and present a new paradigm. Energy accumulates through right action and meditation. Listen to your inner guidance. Take the small steps, which seem inconsequential. (Barbara Brennan related a message from her guides to remove a large stick from the path behind her house. Everything turned haywire until she cleared the path.) Small steps accumulate and eventually tilt the balance into greater consciousness, power, and awareness.
  8. Your inner self is a reflection of the soft, quiet voice, the beauty of nature, and the wonderful realities that you imagine.
  9. Trust the process. Inner work will eventually lead to a higher, happier state of being.

Working with New Energies

With the influx of energies, there is a shift in perception and our response to energy. Many people are awakening and bringing more light to the planet. As awakening continues, we perceive life differently because light causes everything to move at a higher frequency.

Here are a few insights:

  1. As we become more conscious, our awareness shifts. We become aware that “reality” shifts, spins, and stirs with the state of our consciousness, which is reflected in the flow of events.
  2. Other people and their energies impact our lives more deeply. As spiritual awareness grows, we perceive (and receive) more energy from others. As we become more conscious of our own energies, we perceive more information from others. We can use light to heal, block, or change the energy. (It’s also possible to learn about our vulnerability, karma, and who we truly want in our lives.)
  3. We affect “life” and our lives more than we want to admit. Our lower thoughts and feelings may attract an irritable person, and higher thoughts may pull in a flow of love. (For example, the sun shines when we think a higher thought, or we receive a pleasant email from a loved one.)
  4. Consciousness connects us more deeply to all sources of information and energy. We feel life more intensely. We may feel more drawn or repelled to particular sources of information. Our higher consciousness begins to direct us more strongly. (Higher consciousness opens the heart, brings in love, and makes feelings seem more intense.)
  5. Swings in duality – the movement of emotions and thoughts – may seem stronger. When we experience the inner self, consciousness moves into a place of being centered. It focuses on “ONE” point. Naturally, we’re more aware of the motion after a quiet experience.
  6. Increased consciousness brings awareness of our impact on our internal/external state. We begin to understand how our happiness and unhappiness respond to our internal dialog, old beliefs, and expectations. With this awareness, life shifts.
  7. Understanding of letting go and holding on becomes part of spiritual work. We learn to release our old beliefs and stubborn energies about our desired outcomes and/or turn over a problem to the universe for a larger solution. We also learn to become more determined with our intentions for a better life and to seek this with all of our will and might.
  8. “Giving” and “helping” are subtly changing. We can hold a vision or send light to anyone, but our spiritual help is balanced with the spiritual commitment and effort of the receiver. (In the Piscean Age, healers and light workers gave in a different way by pouring out energy whenever they felt led to share and help. In the Aquarian Age, we balance and gauge energy for the best effect.)
  9. During flashes of awakening, we perceive a beautiful future in a balanced world. There is a feeling of reassurance, comfort, and support. (We create the envisioned world through our individual perception of universal communication.)

Winter Solstice and Full Moon

It’s a very special full moon with the solstice on December 21, and the full moon follows on December 22. This full moon is called the Cold Moon, and it’s a super moon (when the moon is very close to the earth.)  Obviously, the event is intense, and the planets are supportive although challenges remain.

Many of us have felt the oscillation between the lightness and beauty of the unseen world as well as darkness, karmic patterns, and/or the heaviness of life. This duality occurs on the spiritual path, particularly when planets appear in the 12th house of karma and universal love; however, support is found in the chart. (It’s up to us to choose the focus of our consciousness and continue to have faith in the universe.)

Sun (self, life) is in Capricorn where the spiritual quest of Sagittarius transforms into work, discipline, and aspiration on the physical plane. Capricorn, an earth sign, symbolizes the importance of pursuing our aspirations through intention and focus. Moon (emotions, inner self) is in Cancer, a water sign, which rules the feminine, the ocean, and maternal energy.

Sun in Capricorn symbolizes the father; Moon in Cancer represents the mother. North Node (of the Moon) is in Cancer, and it indicates the right path for the future. South Node of the Moon is the past, and it is placed in Capricorn The chart indicates the importance of clearing memories and karma related to the father, ambition, and childhood (South Node and Sun). North Node and Moon point to the importance of balanced feminine emotion, nurturing correctly (without enabling), and experiencing caring emotions in a new way. Mars (action, male energy) and Neptune (illusion/mysticism) in the 12th house point to the importance of clearing karma and patterns to find the right course of action and move from confusion to clarity.

Sun conjuncts Saturn, which brings structure and discipline. Sun trines Uranus (sudden change, awakening), bringing positive, unexpected events. The Sabian Symbol for Uranus 29 is “The Music of the Spheres”. Pythagoras and Paracelsus believed they heard it when formulating their ideas. This trine can awaken genius, bring solutions, or give insights into the Divine. (The aspect amplifies intuition and unspoken communication.) Moon (moods, inner self) in Cancer concerns our needs and emotions. It requires an evaluation of how love and support are needed in our lives. This placement also asks that we look at how we help others—and avoid enabling.

Mercury (thought, communication) is placed in Sagittarius, encouraging communications and thoughts that lead to the spiritual self. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, meaning our thoughts can align us with positive aspects of life that lead to good fortune. It’s a lovely, auspicious aspect.

Venus (love, feminine, relationships) in Scorpio is beautifully placed She trines Mars (action, male) and Neptune (illusion/mysticism). Venus trine Mars brings balance and harmony between the yin/yang within the self, including passivity/activity. Venus trine Neptune helps in seeing the beauty of life as well as increasing artistic expression. During this time, we are asked to focus on love and beauty to experience the higher notes of the chart.

Sun and Moon square (tension) Mars (action) in Pisces, making it more difficult to align with focused action. Use wisdom and plan to tasks to take longer than usual and/or to prepare to confront confusion. Mars conjuncts Neptune (illusion/mysticism), which is a dual aspect. It can give spiritual connection and faith; it can also increase strange ideas, paranoia, or delusion. (Contemplate the practicality of ideas.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius continues to shine light and goodness through the darkness of this time of year. Jupiter squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism), and it can bring in a great deal of spiritual energy. It can also bring thoughts that we don’t have to deal with our problems in physical reality. (Of course, it isn’t true. This aspect stays for a few months. Plan to make realistic New Year resolutions and put in hard work.)

Uranus

Uranus (awakening, quantum field) remains square Pluto (subconscious, power), and it will bring whatever truth that is needed for our evolution to the surface. This information is usually held in the subconscious, but it may resolve very quickly with Uranus trine the Sun.

Summary

Overall, there is a huge opportunity for growth through awakening and a higher state of love, which brings light. There is also the darkness of karma—the patterns of life times that require clearing karma, releasing patterns, and moving into compassion for the self and others. Ultimately, this is how we become more of who we truly are.

Aspects with Neptune may make it difficult to find the path through karma that leads to light. But we can find it by listening to our hearts, invoking the light, and knowing the miracle of the solstice, angels, and inner work will carry us to the desired destination.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun is on Capricorn 1, “An Indian Chief Claims Recognition and Power from the Assembled Tribe.” Sun and Capricorn are about our quest in the physical world, and this symbol indicates the importance of achieving authority and using power to serve others.

Moon sits on Cancer 1, “On a Ship, Sailors Lower an Old Flag and Raise a New One.” In many ways, the symbol could depict the motion of life from the old year into the new one, which is marked by the solstice. Ships and Sailors refer to water so the symbol addresses clearing old emotions and learning how to create states of consciousness that support new ones.

Mercury is placed on Sagittarius 11, “A Lamp Burns in a Container Shaped like a Human Body.” It’s important to create balance between soul, mind, and body. The lamp represents the flame of higher consciousness, and the container points to the physical form of the human body. (Sun in Capricorn points to the importance of applying our spiritual truth in the physical world, and Mercury’s symbol refers to balancing the two.)

Venus is on Scorpio 15, “Children Playing Around Five Mounds of Sand.” The symbolism of the number five is found throughout metaphysics. It refers to the five, physical senses. The imagery asks for the presence of the inner child while creating through the five senses in the physical world as indicated by sand. It’s a lovely symbol for Venus, which beautifully placed in the chart. (In other words, create through childlike love in the physical world.)

Mars sits on Pisces 24, “The Tiny Island Seems Lost in the Broad Ocean, but Its Happy Inhabitants Have Created a World All Their Own.” It’s a lovely symbol, bringing the image of a small place where people are in harmony with healthy boundaries and self-respect. It’s an achievement that has been created by the consciousness of a small group.

Jupiter is placed on Sagittarius 10, “A Representation of a Golden-Haired Goddess of Opportunity.” When opportunity appears, it’s important to speak from heart, sincerely express our thoughts, and intuitively weigh the possibility of good fortune. With the many positive aspects in this chart, it may happen for many of us.

The Magic of Manifestation

  1. Manifestation is a natural development of meditation. As you become attuned to your inner self, it’s natural to seek expansion of this inner state. Creation of new events, aspects of life, and inner development come from focusing on a specific area of life while seeing, feeling, and experiencing it in a new way. You evolve and expand by creating more of the same inner state in areas of your life where energy and understanding are lacking.
  2. Growth involves expansion and experimentation. Typically, some of your intuitions, thoughts, and feelings are correct in a specific area of life. By observing, you learn how to listen, visualize, think, and feel more accurately. You learn to tap into the parts of life, which are more aligned with the inner self. (For example, your inner self does not think fearful thoughts about the world throughout the day. It doesn’t feel angry about your relationships. It might encourage you to develop some aspect of your life and pay attention to your personal insights. But it doesn’t project and develop negativity.)
  3. Manifestation involves duality. It involves releasing the not-self, which created the current situation, and nourishing the true self, which creates a new “reality.” The current physical self unites with inner self, who receives direction from the universe. By listening and acting intuitively, progress is made.
  4. It’s helpful to bless the “good” in life while continuing to hold the visual or feeling of the desire. In this way, you honor both worlds. It’s also useful to note any progress, persistence, or the smallest motions toward your goal. Accept and bless all positive hints and signs.
  5. Let your heart guide you. It’s how you learn to hear to become intuitive. Take small risks, step into expansion, and learn the process of stop and go (flow.) Part of manifestation involves discovery through learning about your correct/incorrect intuitions, actions, and the inner and outer self. The outer self (ego) is programmed by life. It’s the cause of resistance and sabotage. The inner self teaches about alignment with the universe. (It’s easy to confuse the two voices, but the work of manifestation teaches discernment.) Every manifestation and/or heart’s desire leads to more understanding of the inner self.
  6. Your manifestation is correct when it leads you into generosity, kindness, and love. (If you’re feeling jealous, competitive, or wanting too much, you’re on the wrong path.) The right manifestation teaches letting go of negative thoughts and feelings. It doesn’t mean you don’t see the truth. It means you react and judge less.
  7. This step may seem self-explanatory, but manifestation is like everything in your life. You have to make up your mind to do it, and your efforts must remain consistent. The time will come when you don’t want to do it, or you don’t think it works. It may also feel like too much effort when your world is staying in a perfect place or falling apart. It’s weird, but that’s when you need it most. (There are also times when you may need a coach or someone who believes in your ability to stay with the process.)
  8. If you stay with the work, you will evolve. Your manifestation may take longer than you think. It may come in an entirely different form, or it may perfectly reflect your desire. Regardless, you will have developed a stronger connection with the inner self, learned the art of altering thoughts and emotions, and expanded your intuitive abilities. More importantly, you stepped into the incredible threshold where the universe and your consciousness meet.

Mastering Emotion

Emotion is one of the tests of mastery, Represented by water, emotion moves in waves. It responds to our thoughts, sensations, and encounters. It peaks and ebbs in a series of highs and lows. It can come from intuition, an old pattern, or a misinterpretation.  It can also come as a truth, which requires the light of awareness.

1) Love, as experienced in the heart, is the highest emotion. When we feel love in the heart space, we usually feel connected and centered—free from the oscillations of life. It’s helpful to cultivate this feeling so we can tap into the heart space when needed. (Imagine feeling pink light in the center of the chest and back. Imagine receiving more light in this space.)

2) Emotions are not always real. Sometimes, we pick up on other people’s emotions or projections. For example, it’s easy to feel angry or afraid if we spend time around someone with a lower vibration. We also tend to feel confused if we “read” deception or an untruth in another person’s energy field. We feel the truth but can’t identify it. (It’s helpful to ask for clarity.)
3) Emotions can also occur as a habitual response. It’s a good practice to ask if we always feel afraid or insecure around particular experiences. If so, we can send light to the feeling and imagine another outcome.

4) Emotions are contagious on the lowest and highest levels. We can feel uplifted in the highest sense or experience panic in a movie theater. We share emotion unless we make an effort to raise our vibration above the frequency of others. Everyone feels the projections of other people. When we are aware of this, we can disconnect and rely on our spiritual practice.

5) It’s important to accept the ebb and flow of our emotional life. We can learn what activates patterns, what calms them, and how to change our focus. For example, exercise, meditation, or a good book can soothe our mood. (It’s important to know that many people activate negative emotions. Think twice before discussing problems with friends.)

6) It’s helpful to recall positive emotions such as courage, perseverance, or joy. When we recall a happy emotion, we essentially “intend” it into our lives. It’s useful to project the opposite emotion of any unhappy state. If we truly connect with it over time, we experience more of it. (Reality follows the lens of our attention.)

7) We are only beginning to learn how to express our emotions constructively in life. (Watch a few movies or the news if you disagree.) When we become more accomplished, we’ll learn how to send waves of peace, love, and joy–and see our lives move into a place of ease and happiness. In the meanwhile, we can observe, focus on positive emotions, and send good energy to our emotional future.

New Moon Forecast

The astrological forecast is much like the weather, moving between gray, stormy days and springlike weather with streaming sunlight. The New Moon forecast resembles a cloudy day with flashes of bright light.  (It may be overcast, but the sun sends reminders of its light.)

The New Moon appears on Friday, December 7.  The overall chart is weighted by water (emotion) and fire (passion) Our power comes from aligning emotion and passion in a positive sense and using the power of the chart to create positive outcomes and our heart-felt desires.  It can feel daunting when experiencing pressure from squares (tension) with Mars (action) and Neptune (mysticism/illusion and sometimes confusion). It’s possible to do this by staying focused through positive emotions like gratitude and using passion to connect with the Divine.

Fortunately, help is found within the chart. Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Jupiter (good fortune) are conjunct in Sagittarius, which often brings help and angelic support at the eleventh hour. The conjunctions, which are close placements between planets that heighten their impact, can bring expansion and hope. Sagittarius rules philosophy and long journeys; its key words are “I see”. By aligning with the inner self, we can raise our “vision” above the fray and find solutions through the higher mind.

On the more difficult side of the equation, Sun and Moon square (creating tension) Mars, and this affects our ability to make decisions and move forward in life. (It doesn’t mean we can’t move ahead. It’s simply more difficult than usual.) Sun and Moon also square Neptune in Pisces, which results in many different –sometimes conflicting — feelings and sensations. On the positive, all of the planets are direct with the exception of Uranus

Mercury (communication, thought) is direct at last in Scorpio with the retrograde leaving chaotic energy in its wake.  However, Mercury is well placed with a conjunction with Jupiter, aligning the mind with higher thought and ideas to expand our lives. Mercury also trines (positive, harmonious) Chiron (wounded healer), allowing us to heal on a deeper level through properly connected thought. (For example, we might encounter a challenge but decide an answer is a true possibility. At this point, our mind aligns with the universal mind, and this creates a different outcome.)

Both Venus (love, partnerships) and Mercury are in Scorpio, indicating the importance of seeing beneath the surface in all aspects of life. (These placements have continued for months, asking for alignment of the heart and mind.) The energy is passionate, and this encourages action and/or a change in perception. But the mind and heart have to come together to find the secret information hidden beneath the surface.

Venus (relationships, love) in Scorpio can be jealous and selfish; it can also penetrate into secrets, beliefs, and attitudes for transformation into a higher form. When the planets are uneasy, it’s about learning more about ourselves and finding a deeper state of love, which is sometimes challenging. Venus remains in opposition to Uranus, and this amplifies our feelings about love, freedom, and can also cause sudden change. (Wait until this aspect passes in a month or so to make big changes in relationships. It’s very easy to misunderstand at this point.)

Mars (action, male energy) sits in Pisces, which activates old patterns of resentment, hidden feelings, and strong emotions. Mars in Pisces, a water sign, elicits emotion. Mars squares Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), meaning that it’s difficult to discern the right action for growth. Mars conjuncts Neptune, heightening the fluctuation and waves of emotions and feelings. (Neptune’s involvement in this chart can heighten our intuition.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism), asking us to combine a desire to move with our quest while pondering the unseen in our personal universe. Neptune gives a “foggy” feeling, making it necessary to listen to our heart before moving in new directions.

Saturn (karma, discipline) remains in Capricorn (as it will for the next 2 years), and it gives a harsh, cold feeling along with the need to succeed in the outer world. We see it in egoic nature of many industrialists in the outer world, but Saturn always wants us to learn true spiritual lessons and convey those as our work in the world.

Uranus (New Age, quantum field) returned to Aries, the male beginning of a new cosmic cycle. Uranus squares Pluto in Capricorn as it has for the past few years. It asks for looking at the subterranean   river of personal and global psyches while remaining willing to transmute the flux into a new form. (Uranus offers the quantum field for transformation; Pluto asks us to travel deep into the darkness and find the answers there.) It’s illuminating to see the truth, but it’s not usually easy. (Uranus is in retrograde, which occasionally makes life feel like a roller coaster with sudden, erratic change.)

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun and Moon are on Sagittarius 16, “Sea Gulls Fly Around a Ship Looking for Food.” The symbol speaks of seagulls feeding on fish from a ship. It hints of dependence or co-dependence. In the spiritual quest, we try to help others by connecting them to the wisdom of the inner self—not through dependence. As we walk on our path, it becomes important to separate from those who lean on our energy and refuse to grow—or to observe the relationship at the least.

Mercury sits on Scorpio 28

Venus is placed on Scorpio 2, “A Broken Bottle and Spilled Perfume” could refer to lost loves in the past or situations that closed the heart. We can smell the fragrance, but the vessel is no longer there. (Perfume also stirs olfactory memories from the past. Fortunately, we can recall the energy from the past into the moment.)

Mars is on Pisces 13, “The King of Fairies Approaching His Domain”. It’s a wonderful symbol, speaking of power in the unseen world. Mars conjuncts Neptune in this chart so it may be possible to summon up the beautiful energies of hidden worlds.

Jupiter sits on Sagittarius 7, “Cupid Knocking on the Human Heart.” Obviously, it’s about overcoming pain and hurt from the past so we can open to love. Love comes from the universe on an unconditional basis if we open to receive. As part of this process, new people arrive in our lives to share love, and/or old relationships are rekindled in a new way.

Full Moon Forecast

The Full Moon appears on Fri, Nov 23 at a few minutes after midnight, but we’ll feel the pull of the moon throughout the holiday.  It’s not the best full moon for Thanksgiving with energy running high and wild with Mercury in retrograde, but there are methods for dealing with the zaniness (and tips at the end of the blog post.) Also, we know this a time when it’s important to live, speak, and talk differently by using the insights of the higher self, and this is a good time for practice.

It begins quite seriously with Sun (life, self), Mercury (communications), and Jupiter (good fortune) placed in Sagittarius, the sign ruling philosophy, long journeys, and study of the soul. But the Moon is in garrulous Gemini, an air sign that wants to talk, socialize, and perhaps say and buy too much. (Mercury is ruled by air, and it is poorly placed in Sagittarius, making the position of the moon more important than usual.) Mercury (communications, higher mind) should act in cerebral way, but it wants to visit, talk, and buy lots of things while in a disconnected state. The Moon (emotions) opposes Mercury (communications) and Jupiter (good fortune), which means our emotional nature is out of sync with communication and expansion. (Whenever possible, think or transmit peace and love.)

Think of a hippie dropping into a formal dinner party and dominating the conversation by sharing his or her travels over the past six months. Of course, that’s an extreme description. Nevertheless, it’s wise to decide to take a different view on the holidays. Release the memories of past gatherings, and use it as a time to use the skills of the inner self. (Prepare to listen to others, refrain from disagreements, stay quiet, and try your best to the underlying good in everyone. After all, that’s what spiritual work teaches us.)

Along with these odd placements, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter square Mars (action). Squares cause tension and pressure, and Mars is action. These aspects make it more difficult to complete actions, follow through with tasks, and stay focused – particularly when traveling, utilizing electronics, or communicating. Tiredness and/or frustration may follow the completion of tasks, or it may seem to take longer than usual. (It doesn’t mean we can’t do these things; it simply requires more effort and focus.)

Venus (love, beauty, relationships) is softer in Libra than in Scorpio, which created much tension in love relationships in the past few months. But Venus opposes Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), and this makes people act strangely or in unexpected ways around loving relationships. Venus also squares Pluto (underworld, transformation), bringing compulsive behavior and patterns to the surface. We’re continuing to experience insights into our behavior and emotions around love. The unexpected feelings and actions reveal where we’re not in alignment, and compulsive feelings/behavior indicate karmic and/or unresolved patterns.

Mars (action) forms lovely sextiles (mildly positive energy) with Saturn (karma, discipline) and Uranus (quantum field, sudden change), which can open our hearts and minds to inspiration and devoted action. Mars also conjuncts Neptune (mysticism, illusion), and this can meaningful insights and the power to create effective change. Mars conjunct Neptune tends to give the power to bring a dream into form. In particular – the types of dreams that held in the heart.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) is placed in Sagittarius, which will eventually help in lifting our spirits and guiding us in the direction of our dreams. The past is repeating as Uranus (sudden change) moved back into Aries, and it squares Pluto (again). Chiron (wounded healer) moved back into Pisces so we’re dealing with issues from the past.

Sun (life) and Jupiter (expansion) trine Chiron (wounded healer), indicating that seeking healing can change our lives and bring good fortune. Saturn (limitation) squares Chiron, asking for us to let go of our perception of the past.

Notes:

  1. Astrology explains the feelings and tendencies of the current energies, but it doesn’t always tell you how to move through them. Visualization and meditation are helpful when the energies are a bit wild. This practice connects you to higher energies, which can overcome turbulence and lower energies from others.
  2. The Moon and Mercury (emotions and thought) are in opposition. It’s important to listen more than we talk. It’s probably not wise to buy anything online (unless you planned to buy it for months. The best time for shopping is after Dec. 6)  It’s helpful to visualize travel plans between Thursday and Monday. Communications have a tendency for misunderstanding. Think before you speak.
  3. Venus asks for a closer look at love. It’s not easy, but we can’t move into a higher dimension without understanding our feelings and patterns. Perception is part of transcending any problem.
  4. Squares with Mars will make action more difficult and tiring than usual. (Plan to rest.)   There is a boon with Mars; its conjunction with Neptune helps in creating plans to reach a long cherished dream.
  5. It’s a fabulous time to practice what you know about your inner self – and radiate light and peace. (The world needs you!)

Have Hope

By Danielle La Porte via Indigenous Grandmother, Mary Standing Otter

I love these lovely thoughts expressed by Mary Standing Otter. Sometimes I forget about how many other people are praying, hoping, and spending their life energies to alleviate suffering. The world becomes better when we see its beauty and goodness; it’s how energy works.

Right now there are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.

Someone you haven’t met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.

Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God’s children.

A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, “nourish them.”

Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you.

Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favorite food is, and treat you to a movie.
Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.

Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.

The next great song is being rehearsed.

Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.

Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they’ll be thriving like never before. From where they are, they just can’t see it .

Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to arrive, will get precisely what they want — and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it’s reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all “So worth the wait.”

Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche — this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.

Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.

Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe.

Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.

Someone is regaining their sanity.
Someone is coming back from the dead.
Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable.
Someone is curing the incurable.

You. Me. Some. One. Now.
