7 Tips for Raising Consciousness

Raising consciousness can help as the planetary weather draws our attention to aspects of life, which require our energy and/or a change in perspective. Problems and issues occur on a lower wave of consciousness—a lower vibration. When we raise our consciousness, we can see them from a different perspective.

It’s important because we tend to see what we do wrong when we’re correcting or examining an issue. Although the solutions are not always easy, we can find the strength to see life differently, take the next step, or calm our emotions. (Many of us are clearing patterns from past lifetimes. It’s hard work, and it takes energy.)

Raising consciousness is fairly simple. It may take several repetitions for a day or two, but it’s doable. Choose from the exercises to discover what works best for you.

1) Focus on the heart chakra where emotions are balanced. There is no motion—only unconditional love. You can see pink or emerald green light in heart space or middle of the chest (and emanate it into the space around you.) Simply thinking about the heart chakra takes you into a softer, quieter place. The heart is the center of your chakra system. This exercise balances the energy of the lower and upper chakras.

2) All problems relate to some form of fear. (Everyone has it although I think humanity is moving out of it.) Imagine the energy of your problem and send love to it. Love diminishes fear, and it will alter your consciousness temporarily. After all, the issue is “up” for examination, clearing, and healing. You’ll feel freer without it.

3) Problems tend to repeat on a cyclical basis. Changing emotions, reactions, and thoughts is part of clearing it. Any success with an aspect of a problem will reduce it–although it may return. (It’s easy to see how other people have repeating problems, and it’s difficult to see it within the self.) Eventually, you have insights, understanding, and changed behavior as a result of the problem. It tends to disappear at this point.

4) Emotions do not always emanate from you. If you briefly feel sad, angry, or another strong emotion–and the emotion grows stronger–it is probably not your emotion. You can ask for a higher level of consciousness and to disconnect from mass consciousness. (It often requires several “takes” for this to work.) When your emotions clear, take a few minutes to visualize your desired future. This practice brings in more love and courage as well as a higher vibration.

5) The practice of meditation lifts you to a higher place of being. Visualizing beautiful events and outcomes from a place of higher spiritual focus helps to bring them into being; it also raises the vibration of all of the particles in your personal reality.

6) Call on the angels or write an angel letter. Angels wait for your call. You can ask for angels to surround you with feelings of peace, bliss, happiness, or understanding. You can also ask for their help with a problem. (I’ve found it’s best to ask for their help to come softly, gently, and joyously to avoid abrupt changes in my life. The gentle changes feel nicer.)

7) Nature wants to help with your healing process. Energy collects in body as a result of spiritual, emotional, or mental tension. You can sit outdoors and ask for energy to heal your body or clear the mind. Walking in nature quiets the soul. The colors, shapes, and patterns are perfect for the body. You’ve walked enough when the mind becomes quiet without interruptions from thoughts. These techniques are particularly helpful when you ask for the healing presence of nature.

These practices often lead to non-ordinary solutions, realizations, and intuitions..

Open the Heart

In this blog post, I speak of my own experiences in the hope that they are useful or inspirational to others.

It is through my connection with the One that I experience the “All” or the energies of the world at large. We are not separate from the feelings or thoughts of other people–even the departed emanate waves of energy. Animals, plants and trees speak hourly in a soft language of holograms and sound. There is also a “field” of overlying energy that surrounds everything and everyone, individually and as a whole. It feels as though the field ripples whenever there is a disturbance–either individually or collectively. All of these energies are consistently apparent to me.

Because I am accustomed to these experiences – to feeling and seeing that which is invisible to others – I accept this as my life. I expect to hear the soft voices of my plants as they are watered, the voices of people, animals or trees, and, even muted voice of the Blue Ridge Mountains that lie in the distance. I suspect that this is the language of the heart, a language that we are all wired internally to see and hear but have forgotten through time. It is this language of the heart that I hope to share.

The opening of the heart chakra is considered as one of the initiatory milestones on the journey of the soul. When my heart chakra opened, I was amazed at the outpouring of love  I felt. My heart opened, and it felt as if a floodgate had opened. My love poured out into the earth and the universe. The Universe answered with an absolute downpour of love. It felt as though every particle in my being was in a flood of rain, only it was not rain, it was love. I remember wondering how so much love could exist n the universe.

This love seemed to actually be a fiber or a substance that I could see in every living thing and every living being, both animate and inanimate. This fabric was in everything. Everything was connected by this one substance that alchemy refers to as “first matter”. The identification of “First Matter” is the understanding that everything is connected by a fiber-like energy that IS love, that is light. The Emerald Tablets say; “All things are from one, by the mediation of one, and all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.”

The hidden connection between everyone and every “thing” became obvious through observation and practice. I could see heart chakras, and my gifts came very quickly. I learned to hear the voices of plants, animals and the inner voices of people. The language of plants and animals was pure; it was the voice of the heart. The inner language of people was thick, garbled and often negative. I had to learn to whether or not I should listen, and I had to learn detachment about negativity.

I experienced such overwhelming Universal love during this time. It seemed that if I loved everything and everyone that my life would “work”. But I was only beginning to glimpse my own “true self”, the mediating self that is found through spiritual reflection and the development of one’s character. I had to learn passively loving all that was NOT the answer, but loving the fiber of “all” in myself that was a great deal of the answer. As I learned to love the molecules in me, my understanding of our spiritual connection grew. The answers came in flashes as I learned to listen to my heart and to align with the energy of the One or the All.

I also felt incredible pain in the areas of my life that were not aligned with my inner self. The bliss of my connection with my heart and the divine was disturbed by the turbulence of my daily life. The duality of my life was overwhelming difficult at times. But the pain encouraged devotion to my studies. It lessened when I changed an aspect of my life to reflect my true self. Deep meditation brought profound emotional relief.

In the study of hermetics, the true self is depicted by an angel with an upward triangle in the area of the heart. The upward triangle signifies the “spiritual fire” that fills the heart of the aspirant. This angel is said to dwell in the heart of every person, slowly revealing one’s true nature through spiritual study and reflection.

As our spiritual strength develops, intuition often comes in flashes, with glimpses of our true desires which are aligned with the soul. Love has many faces in metaphysics and alchemy. As we learn to truly love ourselves, the desire for approval, which is stimulated by the ego, begins to fall away. We learn that severity, mercy, passion, communication and other qualities are all different heart energies on the path of the soul. Each is utilized in a different manner, time and method.

A balance of duality is eventually found through this mediation of weighing the desires of the true self and the ego in the heart chakra. Through recognition of the heart’s desires, we learn detachment and self-observation about the duality of “reality” or illusion. We come to the understanding that reality is the fabric of our dreaming, a mirror-like reflection of our beliefs, thoughts, emotions and sensations.

We begin to understand that each side of duality represents part of the whole, that each is an integral part of the other. It is then that we discover the secret space behind heart — the resolution of duality within ourselves. The invisible becomes visible as we become more intuitive, if not to our physical eyes, then certainly to our internal vision. As we act on the impulse of the heart for joy and freedom, we gain alignment with the great Universal Mind of the All. We become aware that we are loved mightily in the presence of the One and the All.

New Moon & New Energies

The New Moon appears on March 6, and it bestows lovely energy—along with a few challenges. At the time of the New Moon, the sky is dark. It’s a good time for finding answers through the inner self and resting quietly for a day or two before moving into a phase of action. The New Moon brings a focus on the dreamy, feminine energy of Pisces with Sun (life), Moon (emotions), Mercury (communications) and Neptune (mysticism/idealism) placed in this sign. Pisces is a water sign, and it amplifies emotion. As ruler of the 12th house, it also pertains to karma from past lives and the past Age, which was ruled by Pisces.

Sun (life) and Moon (emotions, feminine) sextile (harmonious) Mars (action) and Saturn (discipline, karma). Sun and Moon in Pisces can increase the expanse of the imagination and inspire new dreams; the positive aspects with Mars and Saturn give strength to act decisively and in a disciplined way. After all, this is how we bring the beauty of the imagination into physical form, which is one of the lessons of this point in time.

Sun, Moon, and Mercury square Jupiter in Sagittarius, bringing tension between our dreams and expansion in life. Planets in Pisces lead us into beautiful dreams, which are often inspired by the mystical part of the universe, but Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius longs for a quest, the physical walk on the path of the soul to fulfill desires. Jupiter asks that we find a realistic way of bringing dreams into form. (There’s a substantial difference between day dreaming and consciously dreaming.) Jupiter urges us to separate fantasy from reality and take realistic steps with dreams that come from the heart and lead into the light.

Mercury moved into retrograde on March 5, bringing a month of confusion, clearing, and inner realization. Mercury rules communications and electronics as well as messages from the Divine, and they are typically scrambled for 3-4 weeks. It is possible to discern true messages and direction but only through the inner self. (The logical mind tends to lose its focus during Mercury retro.) This Mercury retro is particularly important because it involves Pisces, ruler of the dark energies and karma of the past age. It actually gives an opportunity to release old drama and tired emotions while allows space for transmutation and higher energies as we move into New Age. (When possible, it’s best to deal with this Mercury retro, which extends through March 28,  by releasing emotions and renewing ourselves through rest and reflection. At best ,it’s a time of moving into the heart and finding universal love to wash away the past.

Venus (love, beauty, partnerships) is placed in Aquarius, an independent and eclectic air sign. Venus in Aquarius is interested in the mind and the flow of energy in another person. Venus squares Mars (male, action) and Uranus (sudden change, awakening), which can cause tension and/or misunderstanding with partners. With these placements, it’s important to wait and think before speaking. (Don’t fight, think!)

Mars (action, male energy) is placed in Taurus, an earth sign, which gives grounding, strength for action, and vitality for the physical body. Taurus is the bull that patiently pushes its way to success, loves the earth and natural beauty, and patiently stands its ground. Mars rules action and energy, and it’s powerful in this position. Mars also forms wonderful aspects that balance the dreamy energy of many planets placed In Pisces. It trines Saturn, the ruler of discipline and time, which aids with intention, focus, and sustained effort. Mars trines Pluto (transformation, underworld), giving power and strength to recognize and transmute old patterns and karma.

Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) in Sagittarius encourages optimism, growth, and our desire for spiritual development. The planet of good fortune trines (harmonious) Uranus (awakening, sudden change), encouraging positive outcomes with an awakened state—and possibly sudden change. Jupiter squares (tension) Neptune (illusion, mysticism), asking for a realistic balance between dreams and the desire for a more beautiful and balanced life.

Saturn, ruler of discipline, devotion, and karma, sextiles (harmonious) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), and this aspect combines devotion and discipline with dreams and beauty—enlarging the possibility of creating a physical structure for inner desires. Saturn conjuncts (close to) Pluto (underworld, transformation), and the planets in combination are powerful. Together, they can help in finding inner and outer resources and/or transforming the fabric of our lives.

Uranus recently moved into Taurus, an earth sign that rules beauty, nature, and physical form. Uranus rules sudden change, awakening, and higher communication. It also represents the quantum field or spontaneous healing and/or change. Earth signs tend to act in a stabilizing manner, and Uranus may bring awakening in a gentler form—or it may teach about the importance of listening to nature as we seek inner growth. Uranus in Taurus emphasizes music, beauty, art, and money/possessions. (Uranus will stay in this position for 7 years.)

Chiron, the wounded healer,  is in Aries, which represents the beginning of the cycle, the mind and the head. Healing may come from changing our thoughts or learning to think in a new way. It could also involve transmitting thought in new ways which were never thought of before. Or it could refer to finding new healing methods by connecting the mind and heart.

Notes:

  1. Many planets in Pisces present beautiful, dreamy energy that can help with artistic endeavors, connecting with Divine, and heighten the imagination. Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Neptune in Pisces is also about clearing emotions from the past, and we will likely feel our emotions more intensely than usual. It can also make life feel slightly confusing or foggy, particularly with Mercury retrograde in Pisces.
  2. Squares with Sun/Moon and Jupiter (good fortune) ask for discernment when separating escapism and dreaming. Creating a reality, which expands our life, takes planning and work. The tension between the 3 planets can help with this.
  3. Mercury will remain retrograde through March 28. The general rules apply. It’s not a good time to make a significant change, buy electronics, or travel. It is a good time to reflect on life, redo projects, and renew our energy. Mercury retro causes confusion and breakdowns in communication. It’s helpful when we can “listen” through the inner self.
  4. Uranus in Taurus causes a huge shift in energy. It is more stable than Uranus in Aries, and it may smooth the way to awakening. It will concern the earth and nature–although part of awakening is hearing the voice of nature. It will definitely affect finance. (Let’s see this as positive.)
  5. Chiron in Aries is another significant change. The wounded healer rules how we heal on a group level as well as the energy of our wounding. Aries can be aggressive and headstrong, but it is also assertive and forceful when following the right answer.

February’s Full Snow Moon

The night sky has been incredibly lovely as the almost full moon rises against a periwinkle blue sky. On some nights, the planets are visible and glow like jewels.

This Full  Moon, known as the snow moon, appears on February 19, bringing a relatively pleasant chart. After weeks of clearing emotions and karma, it can feel like a blessing. There are odd contradictions and small challenges, but there are also gifts and supportive energies. It’s a super moon, heightening energy, emotions, and events. The flow of the tide of life increases on the full moon—particularly when it’s close to the earth.

Sun in Pisces symbolizes the importance of emotional, unconditional love, especially when we are connected on a higher level. Unconditional love, which is universal, soothes the waves of thought and emotion. It is a resting place for body and soul. (Pisces also symbolizes two fishes swimming in opposite directions, which indicates how emotion can make life feel confusing and unpredictable.)

Sun sextiles (positive, harmonious) Venus (love) and Neptune (mysticism, idealism), increasing the positive aspects of the placement of the Sun. These aspects can enlarge our capacity to perceive love, beauty, and connection with the Divine.

Moon sits in Virgo, an earth sign, ruling work, practicality, and the physical. With Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo, it’s useful to consider the best way of manifesting our desires in physical form. (The Moon trines (harmonious) Mars (energy, male) and Uranus (sudden change, quantum change), creating the opportunity to transform and establish our physical life in harmony with the spiritual plane.

Mercury (communication, electronics) is placed in Pisces, mingling thought and emotion. It also leads to thoughts and images of beauty to elicit the fabric of dreams. Mercury sextiles (positive) Venus (love), Saturn (karma, past), and Pluto (regeneration, subconscious.) Mercury and Venus can heighten feelings of love and/or connection with higher, harmonious feelings. Mercury sextile Saturn can provide resourceful use of lessons learned in the past. Mercury and Pluto together can give power, reveal hidden insights with problems and/or challenges, and help in discovering truth.

Mercury squares Jupiter (expansion), which means our thoughts are not always aligned with the best direction for growth—or it may feel difficult to take the next step into growth. Mercury conjuncts (close) Neptune (mysticism, idealism), and this can make our thought process seem cloudy or ineffective. However, the sextiles (listed above) with Mercury will help in the process of finding the right direction for growth.

Venus sits in Capricorn, a barren earth sign, which is a cold sign for love. Nevertheless, Venus’ relationship with other planets is quite positive. Venus conjuncts (close) Saturn (limitation, karma), and this aspect links artistic ability and perseverance. Venus conjunct Pluto (transformation, subconscious) tends to intensify our need for love and physical attraction.

Mars (action, passion) Is placed in Taurus, an earth sign. Mars moves a bit more slowly in Taurus, slowing passion and desire for action. Mars conjuncts Uranus (sudden action, awakening), which can cause overreaction and the desire to create very sudden change.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) is placed in Sagittarius, encouraging a spiritual and/or physical quest. Jupiter trines Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), aiding in the current intermixing of the past and future. Jupiter squares Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which can confuse our sense of the right/wrong direction, and Neptune creates confusion and impractical feelings.

Saturn (limitation, karma) in Capricorn sextiles Neptune, combining discipline, devotion, and imagination to areas of work as well as expression of gifts.   Saturn conjuncts Pluto (the underworld, transformation), and it’s a powerful aspect. Saturn is the past and karma; Pluto reveals the hidden darkness below the surface and transmutes it by revealing it to the light—and the world.

Chiron recently moved into Aries. Previously in Pisces, the ruler of the past age, Chiron is about wounds and healing wounds—and how we perceive life from this perspective. In Pisces, Chiron was involved in healing wounds of a past time.

Aries is the beginning of the astrological wheel that rules the mind. Chiron in Aries may help us in finding new methods through frequencies, magnetism, and heart-felt thought to bring great healing to ourselves and the earth.

Notes:

  • Sun (life, Mercury (communications, mind), and Neptune (mysticism, illusion) can heighten our ability to tune into the divine, increase our perception and intuition, and help with artistic endeavors.
  • Moon (emotions, the mother) helps with practicality and plans in the physical world.
  • Mercury (communication) has excellent aspects with several planets, which encourage sharp, brilliant thought.
  • Mars (action, male) is exerting less push for action in the physical world but conjuncts Uranus (sudden change.) Take time to think before speaking or creating change.
  • Chiron in Aries may provide insights into new methods of healing.
  • We may experience contradictory feelings, or others may act in a similar way. Have patience while we wait for the planets to move.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun is placed on Pisces 1, “A Crowded Market Place”. A Market Place represents a place of exchange, selling, buying, and communicating. Several aspects of a market place concern buying and selling goods—or energy. It’s necessary to determine what’s needed, the fairness of the exchange, and its alignment with who we are.

Moon is on Virgo 1, “In a Portrait, The Best of a Man’s Traits and Character Are Idealized.” This symbol asks for examination of an image presented to the public. It’s important to look beneath the image to see the true characteristics of the depiction of a person.

Mercury sits on Pisces 17, “An Easter Promenade”.  An Easter promenade is the celebration of spring, the beginning of life.  The symbol stretches to include rebirth, fertility, and a social celebration; the choice is ours.

Venus is on Capricorn 17, “A Young Woman Surreptitiously Bathing in the Nude”. Bathing in the nude involves awareness of the sun and earth. It could involve revealing one’s self in a private location or a lack of concern about others. At any rate, it’s a lovely sign for Venus.

Mars is placed on Taurus 4, “The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow”. This symbol clearly gives the promise of beauty and abundance. (Mars rules action, and the right actions can lead to abundance.)

Opening the Heart Space

Opening our hearts to life is one of the most fulfilling tasks that we can undertake. When the heart chakra opens, we begin to weigh our actions from the heart. The heart is like a plumb line; it tells us when we are centered and when we are not.

Our culture is permeated with messages of “listening to your heart” and “knowing in your heart”. It is in the space of the heart that our true desires reside. The joy of the connection with the “One” or the “All” is felt in the heart. We find true compassion in the heart, not in the mind.

The Egyptians believed that the soul resided in the heart. The Goddess Ma’at weighed the human heart of the dead to discover if the soul had earned paradise in the afterlife.

Tibetan Buddhism describes the heart chakra as an 8 white-petal center that is the seat of the Very Subtle Mind and the Very Subtle Wind. These two qualities are immortal and reside in the seat of the heart from life time to life time. (For this reason, other people are recognizable in other lifetimes.) It is also described as the essence of Absolute Reality.

The heart chakra is the fourth chakra, or the Anahata. It resides in the middle of the chakra system, balancing the 3 lower chakras which rule physical life and the 3 upper chakras, which control our access to spirituality. The heart (Tiphareth) is found in the Middle Pillar of the Kaballah.

The Middle Way or Central Path is a dominant theme in philosophy. Balancing duality is an important task that is achieved by walking the Middle Path. Listening to the heart is the first step on this path. When we think with our heads and hearts in accordance, our actions begin to reflect a balance between thought and emotion. When we are one with the true or authentic self, the ego and soul are integrated. We live from the heart.

Alchemy describes the awakening of the heart chakra as the communication between the heart and the Higher Self or Holy Guardian Angel. As we receive our direction from the heart, our outer direction in life becomes dictated by our inner knowing. We access the truth of our Higher Self and the immortal wisdom of the heart space.

Experiencing Universal Love creates love for the self and others. Love becomes aligned with integrity, and our personal inner truth becomes more valuable. We gain true independence and self-reliance because we begin to relinquish our dependency on the outer world for direction.

We learn to love the light in everyone, but we also learn to value our selves. Love has many faces in the mirror-like quality of our Universe. Restriction/expansion represents an aspect of duality, which relates love. The restrictive nature teaches about boundaries, and the expansive side is about opening to larger realities and possibilities, offering a glimpse into the mystery of the All.

Speaking the truth of our hearts opens corridors of communication. When we live in the knowledge of our hearts, we give and receive equitably. When we are in balance with the One, this energy is reflected outwardly into the All. By simply reflecting on our hearts, we can affect marvelous changes in our lives that ripple outward into the world.

EXERCISES: The wisdom of the heart chakra can be accessed through practice, attention, and a true desire to experience Universal love. You may find that researching the heart chakra and drawing an image of the chakra is helpful and fun.

PINK HEART: Imagine that a beam from the Universe is pouring pink light (love) into the center of the chest. Breathe in this love and allow it flow throughout the entire body. Allow the pink light to flow into the nuclei of each cell and into the spaces between the cells. Remember: the Universe’s capacity to give is infinite. You can receive as much light as you desire. (Note: this exercise is included in last month’s voice stream on manifestation.)

SENDING LIGHT TO OTHERS: You can also radiate this love or pink light to any situation or person. Imagine that the beam of pink light is pouring into your heart chakra. When your heart chakra is full, imagine that your friends and loved ones. See if you can find a location for them or imagine that they are in the room with you. Radiate a beam of pink light to each of them. Return to the present moment and allow more light to flow into your heart chakra. When you share light with others, you increase your capacity to receive light. You should feel slightly energized after the completion of this exercise.

DAILY PRACTICE: Ask yourself several times each day when working, walking or performing daily tasks, “What does my heart think about this? How does my heart feel?” You may ask this question about people, situations, or changes in the flow of life. Eventually, you will “feel” or hear an answer from your inner self. You will know that this is your answer. (Truth is simple so your answer will probably be short.)

Aligning with Your Inner Self

This year, we’ll continue to experience duality as a series of beginnings and endings, peace and upheaval, and insight and confusion. Experiencing polarity is part of inner growth, and it’s also part of learning more about the inner self. Currently, we’re oscillating between uplifting realizations of the higher self and the difficult work of transcending karma.

The energy invites us to apply our knowledge about awakening and the inner self into “real” life while releasing what holds us back. It’s about creating life in a whole, new way. It’s transformation on a higher level.

  1. Staying centered and regulating emotion is part of moving into a higher reality. It’s impossible not to “feel” lower thoughts and emotions, but it’s also possible to observe them. Observation changes and/or neutralizes thought and emotion. From this place of consciousness, we can “see” or visualize what we want to experience. (Feelings and thoughts often come from others. When we are neutral, we disconnect from others–and mass consciousness.)
  2. Focus on the “opposite” to experience a different state of being. Focus on memories of feeling energized when tired. See yourself as strong when you feel weak. Notice how the placement of consciousness affects the flow of events. A higher placement of consciousness calls in happier, more uplifting events. (It doesn’t happen instantly. Stay with the work.)
  3. Meditation connects us into the universal flow. Everything changes in this place because it is the limitless source of love and light. The invisible world is far more powerful than the visible one.
  4. It’s important to focus on our dreams–the sensation of a bigger, better life—and the expansion of life. The desire for expansion comes from the inner self. Usually, we want greater expression, new experiences, and the opportunity to open the heart. Without the dream of expansion, we don’t move through limitations. We often accept them as our comfort zone. Take the time to visualize a better, wonderful life and fulfill your heart’s desire.
  5. Resolve to build positive practices such as meditation and physical exercise on a daily basis. The point is building good practices to support the higher self, but it won’t work with strict rules. You have to create your practice from love and desire to connection. It’s helpful to think of practices as supporting our lives and bringing in more joy and energy. Find a beautiful flow with your practice. (Once, I altered my schedule completely by making it the opposite of what I “thought” I wanted. It created an incredible flow, so stay flexible.)

Learning About the Inner Self

  1. You’re more powerful than you think. Your feelings and thoughts affect the space and people around you. When you consciously direct your thoughts in a positive way, it changes the flow of the events. The best way to create conscious change is through the inner self and connection with the universe.
  2. You create a better future by believing in your power to do so. The potential becomes greater when you practice visualization and gain awareness of your thoughts and feelings. By seeing your inner world with a different light, you learn how to envision for the outer world. When many people hold a positive vision for the outer world, it’s possible to create amazing change.
  3. When you experience a sense of well being and soft happiness, it helps everyone around you. Everyone is drawn to this type of energy field. Practice recalling memories of feeling well, happy, and relaxed. You automatically pull these emotions into the future by focusing on them. (Focusing involves concentration and energy. When you place your energy on a particular point of consciousness, it expands.)
  4. A part of you is always connected. You may not always feel your connection, but it’s always there. You can meditate more, ask for help, call on your guides or angels, and recall feeling of inner connection. If you stay with your practices, you’ll find your inner self. (Everyone moves in and out of this space in a given day.)
  5. Many people believe a very special group of people were called here for the group awakening. If you are awakening, you probably have special talents and gifts. (It’s helpful to know you can focus on your inner light and help others—regardless of your livelihood or life direction.) Everyone in this group works with personal problems, which likely involve clearing global karma or holding light for others. Your small efforts help far more than you think, and your light counts a great deal.

The Spiral of Time

As a child, I was taught to think of time as a linear representation with points on a line. In the spiritual world, time is similar to a spiral—a line of energies that ascends but returns to specific linear points before moving higher. On a soul level, it explains how we tend to meet the same situations and/or feelings in a repetitive way.

Spiritual evolution teaches us that we tend to repeat patterns based on the past, which is karma. As we evolve to a higher point by collecting energy and developing new skills, we then descend energetically to revisit and correct old patterns. As we change our behavior and beliefs, we clear old energies and create a new and better image of the self. (This process also creates new opportunities for growth and success on a soul level.)

  1. We spiral up into evolution then travel back around to unresolved issues and/or patterns. The lesson involves gaining insight about the repetitive nature of life—and how it relates to our consciousness (beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions.)
  2. The interesting part about patterns is the repetition of similar emotions and thoughts. If the events, conversations, and feelings repeat, it’s a karmic situation. By altering our emotions and thoughts, we can dissipate aspects of the pattern. (Sometimes, we can also change the pattern by visualizing and feeling a different outcome, which is a change in perception.)
  3. By finding the belief or truth behind the pattern, we can free ourselves from the repetition. (Some part of the self is involved in the pattern, or we wouldn’t experience it. Our involvement in the problem may be as small as 10-20%, but changing our reaction can often solve the problem.)
  4. Many of our beliefs come from childhood and/or past lives. They generally involve a specific feeling and belief about the self. It’s helpful to identify emotions and examine how they contribute to personal beliefs about life and the self.
  5. Simply reacting less to the pattern is part of the solution. it’s wise to pull back from it by focusing on the heart chakra, visualizing a color such as light blue, green, or pink, and asking the universe to send the “feeling” of a solution. When we turn off engagement with the pattern, it often changes.
  6. It’s helpful to see the cyclical problem as a time to move more deeply into meditation, creating new visualizations with positive, happy outcomes, and opening (instead of closing down) to life. Take time to see the beauty in life and express gratitude for what is supportive. (Higher vibrations can change a pattern.)
  7. As the pattern dissipates—and it will if we respond differently—we receive new energies from the universe. We love ourselves more, and we spiral up into an higher level, which gives insights, courage, and truth.
