7 Trends and Changes in Energy

1)   The universe is becoming vibrational. In the past, we said energy is everything, but the current trend is based on frequency. Frequency is sum of the vibrational quality of our energy field, and it affects everything. It’s a determining factor in outcome. (When we move into a higher vibration, the universe responds by lifting the situation into a higher frequency.)

2)   The Age of Aquarius asks for higher, balanced energy with an emphasis on the inner self. We can only give when our glass is half-full, and we must reserve energy to stay vital and fulfilled. In the Piscean Age, it was important to make sacrifices for the church and causes. If we gave away too much of our energy, the universe refilled it. At this point, it can days to revitalize our bodies and energy fields if we give away too much energy.

3) The best way to find answers is to listen to the heart
and follow the inner self. During the Piscean Age, we allowed the priests, leaders, and politics to determine our path. Now, we’re learning to listen to ourselves and find our inborn knowledge for enlightenment.

4)  Evolution is becoming increasingly important. It’s not about what happened to us—and old roles of victim and hero. It’s about finding the power within to energetically overcome and balance old karma. The lesson is about evolving, growing, and applying the experience to move more deeply into the inner self.

5) East meets West. The wisdom and knowledge of the Eastern and Western cultures is intermingling as we find balance within ourselves. The stillness and meditation practices of the Eastern philosophies is beautiful, but we also need the passionate action (and love) of the West.

6. We are beginning to define “good” as alignment with the inner self. There is a beautiful harmony that occurs in this connection. As more people awaken, the vibration will become more recognizable.

7. Self-care is becoming increasingly important as we continue to move through strange waves of energy, challenging astrological influences, and personal evolution. We simply have to rest and take care of ourselves to move through the energies of this time. Interestingly, a few hours of rest and a round or two of meditation can bring us back into the uplifting frequencies of higher collective consciousness.

Summer Solstice: Substantial Shift in Energy

Midsummer’s Night evokes images of Titania, Queen of the Fairies, walking amidst forest creatures as she stirs magic in the heart of humans. Summer solstice is a mystical time. Solstices and equinoxes create a doorway into the spiritual world that can heighten evolution, which helps in raising our energy to a higher vibration. The solstice brings an influx of light, which can literally illuminate dreams and desires. (We can “see” the light of the solstice as illuminating our dreams/desires and bringing them into form.)

The summer solstice chart includes both excellent and challenging aspects. We’re experiencing a carry-over from Monday’s Full Moon when it was conjunct Galactic Center. There is the unusual and uplifting aspects of Jupiter (good fortune) conjunct Galactic Center. (Some astrologers believe Galactic Center represents light, love, and the quantum field—the place of grace, mysticism, and the “good” in life.) Additionally, the light and intensity of Monday’s full moon will carry over into the forecast.

With Sun in Gemini and Moon in Aquarius, thought is illuminated, increasing access to the higher mind. Sun (life) and Moon (emotions) are in air signs, stimulating mentality and the higher mind. It’s important to take time to meditate and stay in a calm state of mind for good discernment when the mind moves rapidly. Venus sits in Gemini, and emphasis on the mind can it (too) easy to confuse other people’s thoughts and mental state with our own.

Mercury (thought) is placed in Cancer, an emotional, water sign, and this placement can lead to strong emotional reactions and confusing thoughts and feelings. For example, we may think of someone from the past and feel angry or sad—when the true message concerns a higher state of mind.

Challenging…But Ultimately Fulfilling

Sometimes, we have to endure obstacles to align with the inner self, but I’ve never known anyone who regretted the decision. The challenging aspects of a chart can gift wisdom, insight, and understanding. Such is the case with oppositions between Mercury and Mars and Saturn and Pluto.

Mercury (thought) and Mars (action, energy) are both in Cancer, stimulating strong emotions. The planets are in opposition to Saturn (time, karma) and Pluto (regeneration, subconscious). Saturn and Pluto want us to see where our lives are aligned with our inner self. Mars is emotional in Cancer, and it tends to express lower emotions such as blame or anger when confronted with the larger plan. (Many students have written and asked about the part of the self that sabotages their efforts. It’s easy to see at this point because of the oppositions between Mars (energy, action in life) and Mercury (thought) with Saturn (time, karma) and Pluto (regeneration). The real point is to align our lives with the inner self in a new, wonderful way.)

Saturn and Pluto are much stronger in this chart than Mercury and Mars in Cancer. Saturn (limitation, karma) can operate as an instructor who indicates the best alignment for our path, and Pluto tends to demonstrate the darkness of others, the world, or the self in our lives.  If we permit it, the two planets can pull us through patterns such as self-sabotage, self-indulgence, and lack of discipline. By releasing some of these characteristics, we can open to Galactic Center and the power of the solstice. (It’s a wonderful to begin devotion to meditation, a new endeavor, or to develop a gift.)

Additional Aspects

Venus (love, relationships) in Gemini increases mental activity. Venus in Gemini is intense about social interaction, interested in widening her romantic and social circle, and riveted by mental activity. However, it’s easy to miss the depth and meaning of life when experiencing a social whirlwind. The other half of the message involves slowing down and feeling the true energies of the others and the beauty of the world in the summer months.

Venus opposes Jupiter (good fortune), hinting at the importance of taking life slowly and finding answers with the heart—not the mind. Venus squares (tension) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which can increase our ability to see beauty in life but can cause confusion in separating fact and fantasy.

Saturn (limitation, karma) conjuncts Pluto (subconscious, transmutation). It’s a powerful duo, working together to bring power into our lives and to teach proper application. Saturn wants perfection and continual do-overs, and Pluto pushes achievement. They cycle back and forth, tearing down and building up. (It’s a long-term influence that can recreate our lives in a higher form or bring alignment with the excesses of the ego.)

Mercury (mind, communications) trines Neptune (mysticism, illusion), bringing the rational and intuitive mind in union and heightening creative abilities. Venus (love, relationships) squares Neptune, which may bring misconceptions and delusions about love. Mars (action, male) trines Neptune, and the aspect heightens sensitivity and sympathy for others. Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) squares Neptune, which can lead us astray, taking us out of practical routines and into unrealistic expectations. (Stay slow and steady.)

Sun squares Chiron (wounded healer), indicating mental activity may move in the opposite direction of healing. Many aspects in the chart hint at healing through self-observation, a slower, insightful pace, and a desire to see through illusion and focus on truth.

Tips:

  1. Jupiter’s alignment with Galactic Center brings love, light, and expansion.
  2. Many planets in air (mind) can increase mental activity. Work to center on the heart and locate the higher mind. (This aspect can also align us with the nervousness and agitation of others. Notice this and pull back into the self.)
  3. Saturn (limitation, time) and Pluto (underworld, transmutation) want a discovery of how our personal programs lack alignment with the inner self as well as a meaningful shift in the right direction.
  4. Neptune (mysticism, idealism) clouds the overall picture with illusion, heightened intuition, and beauty. Discernment is necessary.
  5. It is a chart that can bring evolution. Nature and the spiritual world will be open and cooperative on the solstice.
