April’s full moon is a pink moon, which appears on April 7. It’s another super moon with intense energies. The term “pink moon” refers to celebrating the color of flowers and the emergence of spring. The chart brings both harmonious and challenging aspects; it brings potential for growth with personal aspirations and inner growth. A Libra moon suggests reflection on relationships of all kinds.
The Sun (outer life) is placed in Aries, a fire sign representing individual initiative, new beginnings, and a passionate quest. It squares Jupiter and Pluto, which are currently conjunct in Capricorn, creating conflict and tension between our individual quest and the current collective experience. (How do we retain our personal lives while acting – or not acting – within the collective experience of isolation?)
The lovely Moon sits in Libra, an air sign ruling balance with relationships and others. The underlying quest involves alignment with the inner self while speaking from the heart-and listening compassionately to the other person. (It’s not easy!) The Moon conjuncts (close to) Jupiter (good fortune), indicating the importance of communication, beauty, and harmony. Air symbolizes thought, and the mind can act as a positive vector, particularly when aligned with intuition.
Moon also squares Jupiter (expansion) and Pluto (underworld, subconscious), bringing emotional patterns, hidden life information, and secrets to the surface. We may have insights about insecurities and emotions—or we may fluctuate between higher frequencies and lower consciousness.
Mercury remains in Pisces, a water sign that can amplify illusion and all forms of emotion. In another sense, it can heighten intuition or align our mind with the illusion of fear. Mercury conjuncts (close to) Neptune, heightening the mix of emotion and thought. Mercury sextiles (mildly positive) Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), Saturn (limitation, karma) and Pluto (subconscious, transformation). Essentially, Mercury can heighten negative illusion and/or help with reading higher energies. (Balance is the key.)
Venus (feminine, love) moved into Gemini, and she will stay in the position through June. Gemini is the air sign of the twins, ruling communications and short journeys. When Venus is placed in an air sign, it benefits clarity of thought. Truly lovely aspects are formed by Venus in this chart—as a saving grace. The emphasis on love is perhaps a sign of the right direction in an unusual time although it relates to personal love and beauty. Venus trines (harmonious) Mars (action, male), Jupiter (expansion), Saturn (limitation, karma), and Pluto (subconscious, transformation). The trines may aid in our quest to find optimism and higher frequencies in a trying time.
Mars in Aquarius, an air sign ruling group consciousness, mixes thought and action. Mars loves action and initiative, but Aquarius rules mentality and unique approaches. Mars squares (tension) Uranus, the planet ruling the Age of Aquarius, group endeavors, and collective consciousness Our actions can become erratic and sudden (impulsive), or we may be guided by the quantum field.
Emphasis on Collective Energies
The current conjunction between Saturn (limitation, karma) and Pluto (subconscious, transformation) is partially the cause of the “new”, strange reality. Saturn brings balance through limiting the flow of specific energies, and Pluto brings hidden energies to the surface. (The two, together, rule and cause collective change.)
Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) expands everything that it touches, and it recently joined the Saturn/Pluto conjunction, enlarging the overall energy. As it moves away from its close approach to the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in a few weeks, we may feel relief as a positive spin away from the current environment.
Neptune (illusion, mysticism) sits Pisces, a water sign that can amplify the flow of emotions and energy in a positive or negative sense. By moving our consciousness to a higher point with positive visuals, we may find a way to concentrate the flow of energy in a positive sense – such as last weekend’s global meditation.
Overall, the chart indicates the energies of this time as well as specific methods for seeking release and redemption of its lower forms. Love and positive focus of consciousness are two simple steps that can accomplish a great deal.
