Creating Desirable Change

Desirable changes come from the inner self; they bring peace, contentment, and happiness. It is not always easy to arrive at this place. Sometimes, it takes time and patience, but the journey is worth it.

It’s impossible to change everything. You can’t change other people, and, sometimes, circumstances don’t change until you alter yourself. But you can always alter your attitude, beliefs, and perceptions by coming into a place where you and universe flow together.Everything becomes softer and easier; it feels better. Over time, you find that you can change many events in life by using the techniques, which you master through the work.

Here are a few simple suggestions:

  1. Connecting to your inner self and the “light” helps with everything because your frequency (or vibrations in your energy field) become higher. People respond differently. You perceive new solutions, and you feel more peace and contentment. A higher frequency equals better results in daily life (reality.)
  2. Reality alters to match the vibrations in your energy field. When you see an event positively, your perspective changes. It can take time to raise your projection of an event, relationship, or outcome, but this works. Change your perception and change the outcome.
  3. When you can’t change the outcome, you can image sending color or calm energy. Love is easily sent by imagining pink light. You can send it to you, the molecules surrounding you, or a situation. Moving into love and turning events over to the universe often brings resolution. (Accept the resolution and decide you have the strength to move through the situation.)
  4. Focus on the good in your life. You’re alive. You are loved. You have a spiritual connection (or you wouldn’t read this.) You have the ability to change your life. This is powerful knowledge, and few people ever arrive at this place.
  5. Believe in your ability to change your life. Believe in the universe. Know there are spiritual forces such as angels, light, and other people who support and believe in you. Find friends who focus on solutions, take a course, or find a coach. Do something. (Meditating is an action, too.)
  6. You can’t change other people, but you can change your perception. You can imagine living in a more supportive environment and/or focus on receiving love and appreciation from others. Or simply focus on greater happiness and fulfillment.
  7. Believe in the power of the universe that will support positive changes in your life. The universe wants expansion, beauty, love, and growth for everyone.

Meditation:

  • Meditation is one of the keys to the process. Close your eyes and feel your inner self. (When we don’t think, see, or feel anything, we feel the inner self. We also pull back our energy from life.) If you stay in this space for ten minutes, you will feel the inner self. It feels wonderful and peaceful. This part of the self holds the answers. Commune with it quietly.
  • Hold and feel a visual of what you want to experience. If you want happiness and peace, see yourself in this state. If you feel hopeless, create an image of opportunities flowing into your life. If you’re angry, imagine feeling peaceful. Refuse negative thoughts (about anything) and hold onto your visual for 30 seconds. The “new” energy will eventually replace the old energy.
  • Think about love. Love is the one of the key components of the universe. We are loved unconditionally by the universe. Pink light is also love. We can send pink light to our projects, our body, and the people in our lives. Light and love are higher vibrations. Everything in the universe responds to love and light. As you hold more love and light in your “field”, the universe responds more quickly!

New Moon & New Energies

The New Moon appears on March 6, and it bestows lovely energy—along with a few challenges. At the time of the New Moon, the sky is dark. It’s a good time for finding answers through the inner self and resting quietly for a day or two before moving into a phase of action. The New Moon brings a focus on the dreamy, feminine energy of Pisces with Sun (life), Moon (emotions), Mercury (communications) and Neptune (mysticism/idealism) placed in this sign. Pisces is a water sign, and it amplifies emotion. As ruler of the 12th house, it also pertains to karma from past lives and the past Age, which was ruled by Pisces.

Sun (life) and Moon (emotions, feminine) sextile (harmonious) Mars (action) and Saturn (discipline, karma). Sun and Moon in Pisces can increase the expanse of the imagination and inspire new dreams; the positive aspects with Mars and Saturn give strength to act decisively and in a disciplined way. After all, this is how we bring the beauty of the imagination into physical form, which is one of the lessons of this point in time.

Sun, Moon, and Mercury square Jupiter in Sagittarius, bringing tension between our dreams and expansion in life. Planets in Pisces lead us into beautiful dreams, which are often inspired by the mystical part of the universe, but Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius longs for a quest, the physical walk on the path of the soul to fulfill desires. Jupiter asks that we find a realistic way of bringing dreams into form. (There’s a substantial difference between day dreaming and consciously dreaming.) Jupiter urges us to separate fantasy from reality and take realistic steps with dreams that come from the heart and lead into the light.

Mercury moved into retrograde on March 5, bringing a month of confusion, clearing, and inner realization. Mercury rules communications and electronics as well as messages from the Divine, and they are typically scrambled for 3-4 weeks. It is possible to discern true messages and direction but only through the inner self. (The logical mind tends to lose its focus during Mercury retro.) This Mercury retro is particularly important because it involves Pisces, ruler of the dark energies and karma of the past age. It actually gives an opportunity to release old drama and tired emotions while allows space for transmutation and higher energies as we move into New Age. (When possible, it’s best to deal with this Mercury retro, which extends through March 28,  by releasing emotions and renewing ourselves through rest and reflection. At best ,it’s a time of moving into the heart and finding universal love to wash away the past.

Venus (love, beauty, partnerships) is placed in Aquarius, an independent and eclectic air sign. Venus in Aquarius is interested in the mind and the flow of energy in another person. Venus squares Mars (male, action) and Uranus (sudden change, awakening), which can cause tension and/or misunderstanding with partners. With these placements, it’s important to wait and think before speaking. (Don’t fight, think!)

Mars (action, male energy) is placed in Taurus, an earth sign, which gives grounding, strength for action, and vitality for the physical body. Taurus is the bull that patiently pushes its way to success, loves the earth and natural beauty, and patiently stands its ground. Mars rules action and energy, and it’s powerful in this position. Mars also forms wonderful aspects that balance the dreamy energy of many planets placed In Pisces. It trines Saturn, the ruler of discipline and time, which aids with intention, focus, and sustained effort. Mars trines Pluto (transformation, underworld), giving power and strength to recognize and transmute old patterns and karma.

Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) in Sagittarius encourages optimism, growth, and our desire for spiritual development. The planet of good fortune trines (harmonious) Uranus (awakening, sudden change), encouraging positive outcomes with an awakened state—and possibly sudden change. Jupiter squares (tension) Neptune (illusion, mysticism), asking for a realistic balance between dreams and the desire for a more beautiful and balanced life.

Saturn, ruler of discipline, devotion, and karma, sextiles (harmonious) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), and this aspect combines devotion and discipline with dreams and beauty—enlarging the possibility of creating a physical structure for inner desires. Saturn conjuncts (close to) Pluto (underworld, transformation), and the planets in combination are powerful. Together, they can help in finding inner and outer resources and/or transforming the fabric of our lives.

Uranus recently moved into Taurus, an earth sign that rules beauty, nature, and physical form. Uranus rules sudden change, awakening, and higher communication. It also represents the quantum field or spontaneous healing and/or change. Earth signs tend to act in a stabilizing manner, and Uranus may bring awakening in a gentler form—or it may teach about the importance of listening to nature as we seek inner growth. Uranus in Taurus emphasizes music, beauty, art, and money/possessions. (Uranus will stay in this position for 7 years.)

Chiron, the wounded healer,  is in Aries, which represents the beginning of the cycle, the mind and the head. Healing may come from changing our thoughts or learning to think in a new way. It could also involve transmitting thought in new ways which were never thought of before. Or it could refer to finding new healing methods by connecting the mind and heart.

Notes:

  1. Many planets in Pisces present beautiful, dreamy energy that can help with artistic endeavors, connecting with Divine, and heighten the imagination. Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Neptune in Pisces is also about clearing emotions from the past, and we will likely feel our emotions more intensely than usual. It can also make life feel slightly confusing or foggy, particularly with Mercury retrograde in Pisces.
  2. Squares with Sun/Moon and Jupiter (good fortune) ask for discernment when separating escapism and dreaming. Creating a reality, which expands our life, takes planning and work. The tension between the 3 planets can help with this.
  3. Mercury will remain retrograde through March 28. The general rules apply. It’s not a good time to make a significant change, buy electronics, or travel. It is a good time to reflect on life, redo projects, and renew our energy. Mercury retro causes confusion and breakdowns in communication. It’s helpful when we can “listen” through the inner self.
  4. Uranus in Taurus causes a huge shift in energy. It is more stable than Uranus in Aries, and it may smooth the way to awakening. It will concern the earth and nature–although part of awakening is hearing the voice of nature. It will definitely affect finance. (Let’s see this as positive.)
  5. Chiron in Aries is another significant change. The wounded healer rules how we heal on a group level as well as the energy of our wounding. Aries can be aggressive and headstrong, but it is also assertive and forceful when following the right answer.

February’s Full Snow Moon

The night sky has been incredibly lovely as the almost full moon rises against a periwinkle blue sky. On some nights, the planets are visible and glow like jewels.

This Full  Moon, known as the snow moon, appears on February 19, bringing a relatively pleasant chart. After weeks of clearing emotions and karma, it can feel like a blessing. There are odd contradictions and small challenges, but there are also gifts and supportive energies. It’s a super moon, heightening energy, emotions, and events. The flow of the tide of life increases on the full moon—particularly when it’s close to the earth.

Sun in Pisces symbolizes the importance of emotional, unconditional love, especially when we are connected on a higher level. Unconditional love, which is universal, soothes the waves of thought and emotion. It is a resting place for body and soul. (Pisces also symbolizes two fishes swimming in opposite directions, which indicates how emotion can make life feel confusing and unpredictable.)

Sun sextiles (positive, harmonious) Venus (love) and Neptune (mysticism, idealism), increasing the positive aspects of the placement of the Sun. These aspects can enlarge our capacity to perceive love, beauty, and connection with the Divine.

Moon sits in Virgo, an earth sign, ruling work, practicality, and the physical. With Sun in Pisces and Moon in Virgo, it’s useful to consider the best way of manifesting our desires in physical form. (The Moon trines (harmonious) Mars (energy, male) and Uranus (sudden change, quantum change), creating the opportunity to transform and establish our physical life in harmony with the spiritual plane.

Mercury (communication, electronics) is placed in Pisces, mingling thought and emotion. It also leads to thoughts and images of beauty to elicit the fabric of dreams. Mercury sextiles (positive) Venus (love), Saturn (karma, past), and Pluto (regeneration, subconscious.) Mercury and Venus can heighten feelings of love and/or connection with higher, harmonious feelings. Mercury sextile Saturn can provide resourceful use of lessons learned in the past. Mercury and Pluto together can give power, reveal hidden insights with problems and/or challenges, and help in discovering truth.

Mercury squares Jupiter (expansion), which means our thoughts are not always aligned with the best direction for growth—or it may feel difficult to take the next step into growth. Mercury conjuncts (close) Neptune (mysticism, idealism), and this can make our thought process seem cloudy or ineffective. However, the sextiles (listed above) with Mercury will help in the process of finding the right direction for growth.

Venus sits in Capricorn, a barren earth sign, which is a cold sign for love. Nevertheless, Venus’ relationship with other planets is quite positive. Venus conjuncts (close) Saturn (limitation, karma), and this aspect links artistic ability and perseverance. Venus conjunct Pluto (transformation, subconscious) tends to intensify our need for love and physical attraction.

Mars (action, passion) Is placed in Taurus, an earth sign. Mars moves a bit more slowly in Taurus, slowing passion and desire for action. Mars conjuncts Uranus (sudden action, awakening), which can cause overreaction and the desire to create very sudden change.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) is placed in Sagittarius, encouraging a spiritual and/or physical quest. Jupiter trines Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), aiding in the current intermixing of the past and future. Jupiter squares Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which can confuse our sense of the right/wrong direction, and Neptune creates confusion and impractical feelings.

Saturn (limitation, karma) in Capricorn sextiles Neptune, combining discipline, devotion, and imagination to areas of work as well as expression of gifts.   Saturn conjuncts Pluto (the underworld, transformation), and it’s a powerful aspect. Saturn is the past and karma; Pluto reveals the hidden darkness below the surface and transmutes it by revealing it to the light—and the world.

Chiron recently moved into Aries. Previously in Pisces, the ruler of the past age, Chiron is about wounds and healing wounds—and how we perceive life from this perspective. In Pisces, Chiron was involved in healing wounds of a past time.

Aries is the beginning of the astrological wheel that rules the mind. Chiron in Aries may help us in finding new methods through frequencies, magnetism, and heart-felt thought to bring great healing to ourselves and the earth.

Notes:

  • Sun (life, Mercury (communications, mind), and Neptune (mysticism, illusion) can heighten our ability to tune into the divine, increase our perception and intuition, and help with artistic endeavors.
  • Moon (emotions, the mother) helps with practicality and plans in the physical world.
  • Mercury (communication) has excellent aspects with several planets, which encourage sharp, brilliant thought.
  • Mars (action, male) is exerting less push for action in the physical world but conjuncts Uranus (sudden change.) Take time to think before speaking or creating change.
  • Chiron in Aries may provide insights into new methods of healing.
  • We may experience contradictory feelings, or others may act in a similar way. Have patience while we wait for the planets to move.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun is placed on Pisces 1, “A Crowded Market Place”. A Market Place represents a place of exchange, selling, buying, and communicating. Several aspects of a market place concern buying and selling goods—or energy. It’s necessary to determine what’s needed, the fairness of the exchange, and its alignment with who we are.

Moon is on Virgo 1, “In a Portrait, The Best of a Man’s Traits and Character Are Idealized.” This symbol asks for examination of an image presented to the public. It’s important to look beneath the image to see the true characteristics of the depiction of a person.

Mercury sits on Pisces 17, “An Easter Promenade”.  An Easter promenade is the celebration of spring, the beginning of life.  The symbol stretches to include rebirth, fertility, and a social celebration; the choice is ours.

Venus is on Capricorn 17, “A Young Woman Surreptitiously Bathing in the Nude”. Bathing in the nude involves awareness of the sun and earth. It could involve revealing one’s self in a private location or a lack of concern about others. At any rate, it’s a lovely sign for Venus.

Mars is placed on Taurus 4, “The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow”. This symbol clearly gives the promise of beauty and abundance. (Mars rules action, and the right actions can lead to abundance.)

New Moon Forecast, February 4

The micro New Moon will appear on February 4. A micro moon means the moon is farther away than usual, exerting less pull on the tides of the ocean (and our emotions).
New Moons bring a period of flatness or void as everything becomes still before beginning a new cycle. (Despite information to the contrary, the new moon brings stillness–not growth. Growth follows on the 3rd or 4th day after the New Moon.)
Sun (life), Moon (emotions, the mother), and Mercury (communications, mind) are placed in Aquarius, the air sign of the New Age. Aquarius encourages humanistic and group endeavors. Air rules mentality, and the symbol of Aquarius is a woman/man pouring water from the stars to earth. (Water represents love.) It’s a wonderful time for reflection and dreaming about the future. Think about the speed of light, the quantum field, and the soft sensation of small miracles.
Sun, Moon, and Mercury form beautiful sextiles to Jupiter (good fortune, growth), indicating expansion in life from idealistic and inspirational thoughts. The positive aspects can lift our thoughts and emotions to a higher, happier level. Sun (life) and Moon (emotions) conjunct (close to) Mercury (communications), sharpening our ability to think through problems, find solutions, and use intuition wisely. Mercury sextiles Mars (overall energy, male), enhancing our ability to apply thought and action in an intelligent, integrated manner.
Venus (love, relationships) is placed in Capricorn, an earth sign, which tends to move slowly with love and relationships. However, there are lovely aspects with Venus in the New Moon chart, which point to the power of using the heart wisely to overcome problems and limitations. Venus trines Mars (male, assertion), bringing harmony to relationships and partnerships–and balanced the energies between the 2 sides of the self (male/female or yin/yang.) Venus trines (harmonious) Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), which can aid with spiritual endeavors and deeper lover. On a practical level, it encourages social outings with people who are unusual and/or share interests in art, spirituality, or New Age. It also heightens beauty and romance.

Mars (male, assertion) in Aries pushes us to take motion in our lives.  Mars trines Jupiter (good fortune), which can bring success if we follow our spiritual path with good intent and inner direction. Mars squares (challenging and tense) Saturn (karma, discipline), combining assertive, warm energy of direction with Saturn’s desire to move slowly. Mars loves movement and heat; Saturn is cold and moves slowly. We may have to overcome personal karma (as limitation within) to follow our path. Mars also conjuncts (close to) Uranus (sudden change), and it has occurred frequently in the past year. It’s a wild card, which may be responsible for the sudden changes that we and the world have experienced.

Transformation

Mars squares (tension) Pluto (underworld, transmutation), and it’s not a peaceful aspect. Pluto tends to stir up old problems, secrets, and hidden agendas. It’s challenging because we have to work on non-reaction as well as becoming aware of hidden resentments and old hurts/wounds. It brings tension to the surface. Resentments from childhood, vulnerable feelings, and temper tantrums all relate to this placement. (If you’re not experiencing it, someone in your life probably is.) If we’re willing to take time and ponder our reactions, we can clear parts of our personal history and transcend many limitations. However, our emotions are likely to feel very strong.

Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) squares Neptune (group astral energy, elation/illusion), and it asks us to decipher how our personal desires for good fortune fit into the equation of mysticism and love for “all”. Neptune represents the great astral field of wishes, love, and hope in its positive aspect.

Saturn in Capricorn suggests the importance of aligning with the inner self and expressing it in the outer world. Saturn’s conjunction with Pluto (transmutation, underworld) tends to bring patterns of the self, which are not in alignment with our highest good, to the surface. Pluto tends to express the repressed and hidden sides of our identity.

Uranus squares Pluto, a repetition of the experience of letting go of the fibers of life that don’t fit well—or are reflections of the not-self. As we release this or move through experiences, which remove these parts of life, we become more of who we truly are.

Overall, the chart seems relatively simple, but deeper assignments are hidden within.  Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus have many positive aspects, helping with our mentality, emotions, and life in general. Mars expresses both positive and negative aspects. but aspects with the outer planets such as Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto suggest deep personal transformation and realization. It’s part of the process of moving into a New Age.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun and Moon are on Aquarius 15, “Two Lovebirds Sitting on the Fence and Singing Happily.” The positive symbol refers to the power of love to heal divisions and separation caused by fences. With Sun and Moon on this degree, it can also refer to differences between the sexes. Possibly, it refers to the higher forms of love that transcend human conditions.

Mercury is placed on Aquarius 20, “A Large White Dove Bearing a Message.” A dove epitomizes peace, hope, and divine guidance. We may solve some of the conflicts in the outer world by listening to our inner divinity and sharing messages of kindness and hope. (Mercury is the messenger, heightening the importance of the focus of our minds.)

Venus sits on Capricorn 2, “Three Stained-Glass Windows in a Gothic Church, One Damaged by War.” The image refers to the damage caused by violence in the world. However, two of the windows remain, and the third could be repaired. Love, kindness, and generosity are three forms of energy that create change in a fractured world. (Everyone can do more.)

Mars is on Aries 24, “An Open Window and a Net Curtain Blowing into the Shape of a Cornucopia”. It’s interesting to find two symbols of windows in one forecast. Windows and doors tend to represent motion into another aspect of life. A blowing curtain tends to suggest wind or air. A Cornucopia is abundance–alignment with the richness in life. It’s a lovely symbol for Mars.

Jupiter is placed on Sagittarius 17, “An Easter Sunrise Service Draws a Large Crowd”. It’s a beautiful symbol for resurrection and rebirth of self, indicating the possibilities for growth through this somewhat agitated but incredible time.

Sometimes, the world feels strange

Why does everything feel strange?

Everything feels strange because we are moving through a dispensation of light, which will last another 5-10 years. We’re between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius when light rains down on the planet—and the Precession of Ages, a 26,000 year cycle.

Uranus is square Pluto, and Earth is moving on her axis. It’s a time of group awakening. In past ages, individuals such as Christ or Buddha carried the light of enlightenment for the entire planet. This is a group effort, and many people are awakening on the planet. (It’s not enough to awaken. We have to do something with that energy!) In the Age of Pisces, the experience of unconditional love was the way of moving into Universal Light, In the Age of Aquarius, we see the inner self in everyone. But we also have to look at their character, energy, and way of life to discover if they are part of our endeavor. In other words, love the light but act in a discriminating manner with choices for friends.

The group initiative means we feel everyone else. On certain days, we are together in the light. When we’re not aligned with the inner self, we can feel everyone else’s shift. We also feel mass consciousness at the grocery store, movies, or mall. (We consistently experience the oscillation between light and darkness.)

One day, I feel fine. The next day, I feel terrible, tired, or emotional. What’s causing this?

There’s definitely an unsettled feeling. Oddly, we may feel it more when we’re very connected. Our inner awareness and intuition bring heightened awareness of change.

Earth is raising her frequency and pivoting between several physical points on her axis. (No, it’s not a polar shift.) The old points of alignment feel good to our bodies. The new points of alignment bring in an entirely different energy. The shift of the earth causes changes in the cycle of life. The days are longer, and the shadows look different. Everything is growing at an accelerated rate. There are significant changes with animals and birds.

The earth exudes a rhythm, which we feel physically and emotionally. The rhythm is interrupted as the earth rocks on her axis. Hypothetically, the motion occurs to shake up old patterns and help in raising our vibration. (Be patient. Everyone is adjusting.)

Link to article on magnetic field

The new energy can feel exhilarating or exhausting. It depends on what we’re doing, the placement of our consciousness, and our overall frequency. The energy also brings awareness of health issues, emotional/mental patterns for clearing.

On the positive side, it’s much easier to manifest when “material” reality is unstable. Energy flows more easily and adapts to new forms. The important part is taking time to sit, center, and focus on visualization. (It also helps to walk and garden.) And there are also moments of feeling divinely connected.

Are there other reasons for feeling weird?

Yes. Uranus is square Pluto until March 2019 when it returns to Taurus, an earth sign. Chiron (wounded healer) moves back into Aries in February. Currently, we are re-experiencing the energies between 2012-2018.  Uranus in Aries (new beginnings, anger, passion + planet of sudden and spiritual change) is square Pluto (resources, subconscious, unknown darkness, transformation) in Capricorn. It’s a difficult square, and it can sometimes bring up more than we think is bearable. (We’ll get through it.)

Uranus exudes awakening, and Pluto reveals hidden truths, shadows, and subconscious emotions/thoughts. We’re dealing with our darkness and light—and seeing more about the political, economic world. In the big picture, it helps in making decisions to create a better world.

NOTE: Recent astrological charts presented aspects to help in becoming aware of karma as well as mystical, healing aspect that require opening to love. It’s wonderful, but it’s not always easy!

What can I do about it?

Hang on for the ride. Accept the ups and downs. Nurture yourself on tired days and achieve on good days. Understand the rhythms of the energy. Nothing lasts forever; it changes from day to day.

Check in with your inner self. Ask if today is a good day for errands, emails, new clients, or deep talks. Make the physical body stronger and spend time observing the flow of nature. Feel your flow. Trust that we’re moving into a time of greater love. (Don’t worry about the people who don’t feel the fluctuations or step into awakening. Stay centered and trust your inner self.)

Super Wolf Moon and Lunar Eclipse

The first Full Moon of the year is known as the Wolf Moon throughout Europe, Japan, and indigenous cultures where the wolf is celebrated for giving birth to the moon. The Full Moon appears on January 21 just after midnight, and it is preceded by a powerful lunar eclipse. It’s a super moon, meaning the moon is very close to the earth, which intensifies its energy. This Full Moon brings both positive and challenging energies. All of the planets are direct, which gives power and force to both action and desire. However, several planets aspect Uranus—the planet that’s famous for causing erratic, sudden action.

Eclipses are about resetting our energy, preferably at a higher level. A lunar eclipse can involve looking at our shadow self before creating imagery of a higher life. An eclipse can help by moving our energy into form. (The eclipse begins on January 20 at 9:36 pm ET and ends at 2:48 am on Jan 21.)

Sun is in Aquarius, an air sign symbolized by the water bearer. Aquarius rules the mind, group endeavors, and awakening. It can also have strongly fixed opinions or act overly idealistic. The Sun (life) conjuncts (close to) Mercury, making the higher mind more accessible. Sun conjuncts Pluto, which represents the underworld and transmutation. It can help in discovering patterns, moving through blocks, or transmuting aspects of life into a higher form.

Moon is placed in Leo, the fiery sign of the lion. An interesting equation appears throughout the chart as the balance between the individual and society at large and the personal desires of the heart and unconditional cosmic love/mysticism. (The answer appears to lie somewhere in between as a blending of opposite qualities. This energy is found throughout the chart.)

The Moon (moods, emotions) opposes Mercury (communications), and this aspect can cause emotions to override positive and meaningful communication. (Think of the moon changing vastly over a period of a few days. Our emotions may feel the same, making clarity of thought more difficult.) The Moon also squares Uranus, causing emotions to react strongly and suddenly. It’s important to remember emotions are not always real. Sometimes, they are habitual responses to specific events in life, but they are overcome by creating a new response or thought.

Mercury (thought, communication) in Capricorn yields slow and methodical thought. Mercury squares Uranus, which yields rapid thoughts that may be erratic and/or profound. Mercury conjuncts (close) to Pluto, and the aspect deepens the mind. It’s a particularly good time for research or observing the self.

With Sun, Moon, and Mercury square Uranus, energy will be processed in an erratic or unusual way. We may feel impulsive, have brilliant thoughts, and/or feel overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions. Uncertain events or news may occur, but it’s important to stay calm and focused. (Honestly, we all mediate to work through this type of energy, and meditation is helpful with this chart.)

Venus (love, relationships) is placed in Sagittarius, which encourages passion and love. It can also incite our love for life. Venus trines (harmonious) Mars (male energy assertion), and this brings harmony between the sexes and the male/female aspects of the self. Venus conjuncts (close to) Jupiter, increasing good luck and expansion through love and social activities. The aspect also heightens peace and harmony. Venus squares (tension) Neptune (mysticism, illusion). It can bring disillusionment and idealism—or move us into the idealistic and lovely side of Neptune, which bestows beautiful dreams, artistic endeavors, and carries us into the mystic.

Mars (male energy, assertion) is wonderfully placed in Aries, and this placement aids with action, passion, and heart-felt endeavors. Mars trines (harmonious) Jupiter (good fortune). If we act on our passion, life is likely to reward us with expansion and goodness. However, Mars squares Saturn (almost exactly), and it can incite anger or violence. Mars also squares Pluto, and this position increases our drive and desire to move forward in life. (If the desire comes from the heart – and is beneficial to “all” – go ahead. If it’s not, reexamine the desire because the aspect can cause conflict, jealousy, and arguments.)

Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) is well placed in Sagittarius where it loves to expand the good in life including travels, long journeys, and spiritual desires. Jupiter squares (tension) Neptune (mysticism, idealism). It’s an interesting square as Jupiter represents the path of personal good and growth, and Neptune is about the astral sea of energy that can connect us to unconditional love and the divine. (Squares ask for resolution of feelings and direction in life. And this square may ask us to discern how our personal desires for goodness and happiness merge with the cosmic flow.)

Saturn (limitation, karma) remains in Capricorn, an earth sign. Uranus (sudden change, awakening) squares Pluto, bringing old issues and darkness to the surface before moving back into Taurus on March 6.

Moon (emotions) and North Node (spiritual aspiration) trine (harmonious) Chiron, the wounded healer. Sun (life) and Mercury (thought) sextile (positive but weak aspect) Chiron. By moving through the issues, brought to the surface by Uranus, we may move into deep and powerful healing.

Notes:

  • Throughout the chart, there is a push/pull of energies, particularly between individual/group energies and personal higher aspirations and the wider scope universal energies. We’re learning how our individual beliefs, desires, and feelings fit into the universal plan. (It’s probably slightly different for everyone.)
  • The chart is an expression of fire and water with a few planets in earth and one planet placed in air. It tends to amplify emotion and passion while the mind may feel cloudy or lack clarity.
  • There is a great deal of emphasis on love and the heart with Moon (emotions) in Leo and Venus (love) in Sagittarius. Mars (male, assertion) in Aries gives passion and intent. The chart seems to hint at the power of following the heart.
  • The many squares found throughout the chart cause tension between different aspects of the self and life. In particular, Uranus’ squares cause erratic feelings—and even sudden change. Remember to breathe and focus on the heart. (There’s also a higher spiritual side of Uranus that often straightens difficulties in a marvelous way.)
  • There are both positive and difficult aspects in the chart. Eclipses bring change. Focus on the heart and create desired change from this place. All of the planets are direct and can help with this endeavor.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun is on Aquarius 1, “An Old Adobe Mission” refers to priests who settled missions in California. The idea of sharing spiritual concepts is lovely but not when it causes persecution. There’s a big difference between spiritual truth and beliefs founded on the strict guidelines of religion. Avoid didactic behavior.

Moon is placed on Leo 2, “An Epidemic of Mumps” seems to symbolize the quality of contagious diseases and/or thoughts. Illness is said to come from lower vibrations, and both higher and lower vibrations are contagious. We tap into the energies and feelings of others. (It’s important to choose what we want to feel.)

Mercury sits on Capricorn 26, “A Nature Spirit Dancing in the Mist of a Waterfall”. This symbol asks us to move more deeply into our intuition and connection with nature. It may also refer to experiencing a deeper connection with the natural world.  It may be part of the answer of navigating the eclipse energies.

Venus is on Sagittarius 15, “The Ground Hog Looking for its Shadow on Ground Hog Day” refers to the importance of looking for signs to find our path into the future. We all have a sense of the future, which can be confirmed or negated by signs. The universe sends signs when we ask for guidance.

Mars is placed on Aries 14, “A Serpent Coiling near a Man and Woman”, referring to temptation, fear, or jealousy. (This symbol seems particularly accurate with Mars’ alignment with Saturn and Pluto.) Snakes also symbolize healing, universal knowledge, and the balance between the sides of the self. It’s up to us to choose the dark or enlightened presence of the snake. (Snakes also refer to the kundalini current in the spine.)

Jupiter is on Sagittarius 16, “Sea Gulls Fly Around a Ship Looking for Food”, and it indicates dependence or co-dependence. It asks for wariness with people who want favors or gifts from us. It can also denote the importance of becoming independent and learning to care for ourselves.

Winter Solstice and Full Moon

It’s a very special full moon with the solstice on December 21, and the full moon follows on December 22. This full moon is called the Cold Moon, and it’s a super moon (when the moon is very close to the earth.)  Obviously, the event is intense, and the planets are supportive although challenges remain.

Many of us have felt the oscillation between the lightness and beauty of the unseen world as well as darkness, karmic patterns, and/or the heaviness of life. This duality occurs on the spiritual path, particularly when planets appear in the 12th house of karma and universal love; however, support is found in the chart. (It’s up to us to choose the focus of our consciousness and continue to have faith in the universe.)

Sun (self, life) is in Capricorn where the spiritual quest of Sagittarius transforms into work, discipline, and aspiration on the physical plane. Capricorn, an earth sign, symbolizes the importance of pursuing our aspirations through intention and focus. Moon (emotions, inner self) is in Cancer, a water sign, which rules the feminine, the ocean, and maternal energy.

Sun in Capricorn symbolizes the father; Moon in Cancer represents the mother. North Node (of the Moon) is in Cancer, and it indicates the right path for the future. South Node of the Moon is the past, and it is placed in Capricorn The chart indicates the importance of clearing memories and karma related to the father, ambition, and childhood (South Node and Sun). North Node and Moon point to the importance of balanced feminine emotion, nurturing correctly (without enabling), and experiencing caring emotions in a new way. Mars (action, male energy) and Neptune (illusion/mysticism) in the 12th house point to the importance of clearing karma and patterns to find the right course of action and move from confusion to clarity.

Sun conjuncts Saturn, which brings structure and discipline. Sun trines Uranus (sudden change, awakening), bringing positive, unexpected events. The Sabian Symbol for Uranus 29 is “The Music of the Spheres”. Pythagoras and Paracelsus believed they heard it when formulating their ideas. This trine can awaken genius, bring solutions, or give insights into the Divine. (The aspect amplifies intuition and unspoken communication.) Moon (moods, inner self) in Cancer concerns our needs and emotions. It requires an evaluation of how love and support are needed in our lives. This placement also asks that we look at how we help others—and avoid enabling.

Mercury (thought, communication) is placed in Sagittarius, encouraging communications and thoughts that lead to the spiritual self. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, meaning our thoughts can align us with positive aspects of life that lead to good fortune. It’s a lovely, auspicious aspect.

Venus (love, feminine, relationships) in Scorpio is beautifully placed She trines Mars (action, male) and Neptune (illusion/mysticism). Venus trine Mars brings balance and harmony between the yin/yang within the self, including passivity/activity. Venus trine Neptune helps in seeing the beauty of life as well as increasing artistic expression. During this time, we are asked to focus on love and beauty to experience the higher notes of the chart.

Sun and Moon square (tension) Mars (action) in Pisces, making it more difficult to align with focused action. Use wisdom and plan to tasks to take longer than usual and/or to prepare to confront confusion. Mars conjuncts Neptune (illusion/mysticism), which is a dual aspect. It can give spiritual connection and faith; it can also increase strange ideas, paranoia, or delusion. (Contemplate the practicality of ideas.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius continues to shine light and goodness through the darkness of this time of year. Jupiter squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism), and it can bring in a great deal of spiritual energy. It can also bring thoughts that we don’t have to deal with our problems in physical reality. (Of course, it isn’t true. This aspect stays for a few months. Plan to make realistic New Year resolutions and put in hard work.)

Uranus

Uranus (awakening, quantum field) remains square Pluto (subconscious, power), and it will bring whatever truth that is needed for our evolution to the surface. This information is usually held in the subconscious, but it may resolve very quickly with Uranus trine the Sun.

Summary

Overall, there is a huge opportunity for growth through awakening and a higher state of love, which brings light. There is also the darkness of karma—the patterns of life times that require clearing karma, releasing patterns, and moving into compassion for the self and others. Ultimately, this is how we become more of who we truly are.

Aspects with Neptune may make it difficult to find the path through karma that leads to light. But we can find it by listening to our hearts, invoking the light, and knowing the miracle of the solstice, angels, and inner work will carry us to the desired destination.

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun is on Capricorn 1, “An Indian Chief Claims Recognition and Power from the Assembled Tribe.” Sun and Capricorn are about our quest in the physical world, and this symbol indicates the importance of achieving authority and using power to serve others.

Moon sits on Cancer 1, “On a Ship, Sailors Lower an Old Flag and Raise a New One.” In many ways, the symbol could depict the motion of life from the old year into the new one, which is marked by the solstice. Ships and Sailors refer to water so the symbol addresses clearing old emotions and learning how to create states of consciousness that support new ones.

Mercury is placed on Sagittarius 11, “A Lamp Burns in a Container Shaped like a Human Body.” It’s important to create balance between soul, mind, and body. The lamp represents the flame of higher consciousness, and the container points to the physical form of the human body. (Sun in Capricorn points to the importance of applying our spiritual truth in the physical world, and Mercury’s symbol refers to balancing the two.)

Venus is on Scorpio 15, “Children Playing Around Five Mounds of Sand.” The symbolism of the number five is found throughout metaphysics. It refers to the five, physical senses. The imagery asks for the presence of the inner child while creating through the five senses in the physical world as indicated by sand. It’s a lovely symbol for Venus, which beautifully placed in the chart. (In other words, create through childlike love in the physical world.)

Mars sits on Pisces 24, “The Tiny Island Seems Lost in the Broad Ocean, but Its Happy Inhabitants Have Created a World All Their Own.” It’s a lovely symbol, bringing the image of a small place where people are in harmony with healthy boundaries and self-respect. It’s an achievement that has been created by the consciousness of a small group.

Jupiter is placed on Sagittarius 10, “A Representation of a Golden-Haired Goddess of Opportunity.” When opportunity appears, it’s important to speak from heart, sincerely express our thoughts, and intuitively weigh the possibility of good fortune. With the many positive aspects in this chart, it may happen for many of us.

New Moon Forecast

The astrological forecast is much like the weather, moving between gray, stormy days and springlike weather with streaming sunlight. The New Moon forecast resembles a cloudy day with flashes of bright light.  (It may be overcast, but the sun sends reminders of its light.)

The New Moon appears on Friday, December 7.  The overall chart is weighted by water (emotion) and fire (passion) Our power comes from aligning emotion and passion in a positive sense and using the power of the chart to create positive outcomes and our heart-felt desires.  It can feel daunting when experiencing pressure from squares (tension) with Mars (action) and Neptune (mysticism/illusion and sometimes confusion). It’s possible to do this by staying focused through positive emotions like gratitude and using passion to connect with the Divine.

Fortunately, help is found within the chart. Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Jupiter (good fortune) are conjunct in Sagittarius, which often brings help and angelic support at the eleventh hour. The conjunctions, which are close placements between planets that heighten their impact, can bring expansion and hope. Sagittarius rules philosophy and long journeys; its key words are “I see”. By aligning with the inner self, we can raise our “vision” above the fray and find solutions through the higher mind.

On the more difficult side of the equation, Sun and Moon square (creating tension) Mars, and this affects our ability to make decisions and move forward in life. (It doesn’t mean we can’t move ahead. It’s simply more difficult than usual.) Sun and Moon also square Neptune in Pisces, which results in many different –sometimes conflicting — feelings and sensations. On the positive, all of the planets are direct with the exception of Uranus

Mercury (communication, thought) is direct at last in Scorpio with the retrograde leaving chaotic energy in its wake.  However, Mercury is well placed with a conjunction with Jupiter, aligning the mind with higher thought and ideas to expand our lives. Mercury also trines (positive, harmonious) Chiron (wounded healer), allowing us to heal on a deeper level through properly connected thought. (For example, we might encounter a challenge but decide an answer is a true possibility. At this point, our mind aligns with the universal mind, and this creates a different outcome.)

Both Venus (love, partnerships) and Mercury are in Scorpio, indicating the importance of seeing beneath the surface in all aspects of life. (These placements have continued for months, asking for alignment of the heart and mind.) The energy is passionate, and this encourages action and/or a change in perception. But the mind and heart have to come together to find the secret information hidden beneath the surface.

Venus (relationships, love) in Scorpio can be jealous and selfish; it can also penetrate into secrets, beliefs, and attitudes for transformation into a higher form. When the planets are uneasy, it’s about learning more about ourselves and finding a deeper state of love, which is sometimes challenging. Venus remains in opposition to Uranus, and this amplifies our feelings about love, freedom, and can also cause sudden change. (Wait until this aspect passes in a month or so to make big changes in relationships. It’s very easy to misunderstand at this point.)

Mars (action, male energy) sits in Pisces, which activates old patterns of resentment, hidden feelings, and strong emotions. Mars in Pisces, a water sign, elicits emotion. Mars squares Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), meaning that it’s difficult to discern the right action for growth. Mars conjuncts Neptune, heightening the fluctuation and waves of emotions and feelings. (Neptune’s involvement in this chart can heighten our intuition.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism), asking us to combine a desire to move with our quest while pondering the unseen in our personal universe. Neptune gives a “foggy” feeling, making it necessary to listen to our heart before moving in new directions.

Saturn (karma, discipline) remains in Capricorn (as it will for the next 2 years), and it gives a harsh, cold feeling along with the need to succeed in the outer world. We see it in egoic nature of many industrialists in the outer world, but Saturn always wants us to learn true spiritual lessons and convey those as our work in the world.

Uranus (New Age, quantum field) returned to Aries, the male beginning of a new cosmic cycle. Uranus squares Pluto in Capricorn as it has for the past few years. It asks for looking at the subterranean   river of personal and global psyches while remaining willing to transmute the flux into a new form. (Uranus offers the quantum field for transformation; Pluto asks us to travel deep into the darkness and find the answers there.) It’s illuminating to see the truth, but it’s not usually easy. (Uranus is in retrograde, which occasionally makes life feel like a roller coaster with sudden, erratic change.)

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun and Moon are on Sagittarius 16, “Sea Gulls Fly Around a Ship Looking for Food.” The symbol speaks of seagulls feeding on fish from a ship. It hints of dependence or co-dependence. In the spiritual quest, we try to help others by connecting them to the wisdom of the inner self—not through dependence. As we walk on our path, it becomes important to separate from those who lean on our energy and refuse to grow—or to observe the relationship at the least.

Mercury sits on Scorpio 28

Venus is placed on Scorpio 2, “A Broken Bottle and Spilled Perfume” could refer to lost loves in the past or situations that closed the heart. We can smell the fragrance, but the vessel is no longer there. (Perfume also stirs olfactory memories from the past. Fortunately, we can recall the energy from the past into the moment.)

Mars is on Pisces 13, “The King of Fairies Approaching His Domain”. It’s a wonderful symbol, speaking of power in the unseen world. Mars conjuncts Neptune in this chart so it may be possible to summon up the beautiful energies of hidden worlds.

Jupiter sits on Sagittarius 7, “Cupid Knocking on the Human Heart.” Obviously, it’s about overcoming pain and hurt from the past so we can open to love. Love comes from the universe on an unconditional basis if we open to receive. As part of this process, new people arrive in our lives to share love, and/or old relationships are rekindled in a new way.
