Transformation and Altered Perception: New Moon Forecast

After several weeks of experiencing Mercury retrograde and the weight of karma, the New Moon brings an opportunity for transformation on July 31 at 11:11 pm ET. With 5 planets in fire, there’s a push to move forward with our plans and dreams, which is a welcome sensation.

The month of July was a journey into our karmic patterns and beliefs. Wherever we felt stagnant, heavy, or relieved the past, those are the areas that we’ll have to continue to clear throughout the year. Fortunately, the planets are more favorable now; they are willing to carry us into a brighter future. But we have to continue our journey into the heart by clearing the past, moving into love, and following the light.

Sun (life), Moon (emotions), Venus (love, beauty), and Mars (assertion, male energy) are in Leo, the sign that rules the heart, passion, and drama. Leo can be generous or self-centered, depending on alignment with the inner self or ego. Fortunately, the 4 planets trine (harmonious) Jupiter (good fortune, expansion), and it can help with the pursuit of dreams and manifestation.

Mercury (communications, electronics) is direct on August 1, clearing communications, travel, and electronics. Mercury is in opposition with Saturn (limitation, karma) and Pluto (underworld, transformation). As a result, we continue to learn how our karma affects our communication and mental beliefs about the self and the world. (However, only 4 planets are in retrograde, which is a marvelous improvement. It’s difficult to focus and go forward when many planets are retrograde.) Mercury also trines Neptune (mysticism, illusion), allowing for expression and understanding of divine, mystical energies.

Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Venus (love, partnerships) square Uranus (quantum field, sudden change.) Uranus tends to heighten erratic emotions and thoughts, which can lead to unpredictable (sometimes regrettable) behavior.

Venus (love, partnerships, beauty) squares (tension) Uranus (sudden change, quantum field). Our frustrations about love or lack of perception of the beauty of life may seem profound–blocking us briefly from the realization of love. Fortunately, we can overcome this by knowing the feeling is only temporary and by looking deeply into our hearts.

Mars (male energy, assertion) trines (harmonious) Jupiter (expansion), and it helps in finding the energy, strength, and courage to move our lives in a new direction. Hopefully, it’s in the direction of spiritual growth.

Saturn (limitation, karma) trines Uranus (quantum field, change), and it’s a lovely aspect that encourages bold combination of the new and old worlds. Saturn squares Neptune (mysticism), which can dim our hopefulness, but there are many other uplifting aspects in the chart. Saturn conjunct (close to) Pluto, awakening our desire to achieve and grasp power. Pluto is an outer planet, and this can refer to world or the self.

Sun (life), Moon (emotions), Venus (love) and Mars (assertion) trine Chiron, the wounded healer, creating a big opportunity for healing as we move into more passionate quests than clearing pasts and feeling immobile from many retrograde planets.

Tips:

  1. It’s lovely to experience a phase of forward movement. The planets provide passion and courage; the placement of Jupiter (good fortune) encourages our journey.
  2. It’s easy to feel passionate and overreact. Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mars square Uranus, which promotes erratic and sudden changes of feelings and thoughts. Stay calm and think it through.
  3. Mercury is direct, which is wonderful for clear thought and communicating with others. It also helps with receiving information from the Higher Mind.
  4. Our karmic period is on hiatus, but it will repeat throughout the year. Take time to work on new perceptions of life events, lower thoughts and emotions about the self, and practice aligning with the heart.
  5. Enjoy the period of light and reflect on healing and the process of forgiving while substituting new thoughts and feelings for old ones. Focus on who you truly want to become.
