The New Moon appeared at 7:44 pm ET on February 27, marking a new lunar cycle and a time to plan new changes, success, and a new way of seeing the world. The planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, and North Node) are mainly placed in water, which represents emotion.
With Sun (life), Moon (emotion), Mercury (communication), and Neptune (illusion, mysticism) placed in Pisces, we may flow into a place of change, surrender into greater understanding, or express our creativity through a form of art or music. Pisces represents the 12th house, the ending of the astrological wheel, and we may gain awareness of the need to release issues or aspects of life. It’s also a placement that may give a feeling of floating through life or draw our attention to the need for grounding.
It’s a positive chart that precedes the retrograde of Mercury and Venus, lunar and solar eclipses, spring equinox and other dramatic changes. Many aspects of life will change energetically next month. Use the pause/stillness of the New Moon to create positive visions and dreams in the heart and release negativity. Creativity and rest will help to bring beauty and hope into our lives.
The Sabian Symbol for Pisces 10, the placement of Sun and Moon, is “AN AVIATOR PURSUES HIS JOURNEY, FLYING THROUGH GROUND-OBSCURING CLOUDS”. It refers to mankind’s ability to develop power and skills by transcending limitations to participate in the mental or spiritual realms.
Sun (life), Moon (emotion), and Mercury (communication) trine Mars (assertion, energy). Sun trine Mars gives energy, courage, and the desire to succeed and complete tasks. Moon trine Mars adds attraction, desire, and courage. It gives strong, clear emotions, and it’s a good time to act assertively. Mars trine Mercury (mind, communication) brings the power of a strong mind and confident communication.
Sun (life) square Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) gives feelings of optimism, strength, and the desire to succeed. Moon (emotion) square Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) makes sensitive emotions at odds with Jupiter’s desire to push, succeed, and move forward in life. The tendency is to push through inner emotions while seeking success. (Mediation will help.)
Mercury (communication) in Pisces is intuitive and brings heightened awareness. Mercury conjunct Saturn can bring opportunities with work. With Saturn’s influence, the mind is focused and organized. Mercury sextile Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) allows our perception of unsolved issues and problems. Mercury conjunct Neptune (illusion, mysticism) connects the mind to the dream world and/or spirituality in general.
Venus (relationships, beauty) in Aries is passionate, bold, and assertive. Venus square Mars (energy, male) causes confusion in relationships and affects communication between the sexes. It intensifies negative emotion and over-reaction.
Mars (energy, male) in Cancer is calmer and happier when surrounded by many water signs. It may denote an interest in changing or improving home life or simply expressing emotion with greater clarity. Mars trine Saturn (limitation, karma) gives strength and ambition, including the ability to push through tasks.
Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Gemini, an air sign, increases electronic improvements, communication on the internet, and social interactions. Jupiter square Saturn (karma, time) asks us to discern between patterns, accumulated through time, and the essence of the inner self. Jupiter trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives will power and strength. It encourages reviewing life and rewriting it in alliance with our “true” identity.
Saturn (limitation, karma) in Pisces brings many of the issues of the past two thousand years to the surface such as discrimination, destruction of wildlife and trees, and communicating prejudices instead of acceptance and growth. Saturn conjunct Neptune (illusion, mysticism) denotes change in the status quo and structure of countries on a global level.
Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) in Taurus relates to earth changes and our relationship with Gaia. Uranus conjunct Neptune (illusion, mysticism) and Uranus trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) open consciousness to spiritual ideals and concepts.
Neptune (illusion, mysticism) in Pisces acts as a binding agent for emotional consciousness on the subconscious, conscious, and higher consciousness. It affects mass consciousness and higher consciousness in accordance with our beliefs and placement of the mind/emotion. Neptune sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) encourages finding spiritual teachers and traveling the path of the spiritual journey.
Pluto (subconscious, transformation) in Aquarius, the sign of the current age, brings an energy of independence, revolution, and change.
