A sliver of the moon shines in the night sky, disappearing as it becomes the New Moon, which appeared at 3:30 pm ET on April 27. New Moon brings a time of stillness—the echo of the void.

This New Moon offers a time of transformation. It offers two gifts, and the first is the power of the earth and grounding, which are both qualities of Taurus. Sun (life) and Moon (emotion) are placed in Taurus with an emphasis on grounding, abundance, and the importance of moving through obstacles–which occurs when focusing on the desires of the inner self.

The second gift is Venus (love, beauty) placed in Pisces, the exalted position, which opens our heart and being to unconditional universal love. Venus conjuncts Neptune (illusion, mysticism), bringing a heighted sense of beauty, success with artistic and creative endeavors, and increased sensitivity that relates to intuition and spiritual perception.

The challenge lies with a T-square between Moon (emotion), Mars (action), and Pluto (subconscious, transformation). The T-square may cause nervousness, or it can help with focusing the will to complete projects related to success. T-squares create pressure—think of the pressure that converts carbon into diamonds.

Sun (life) and Moon (emotion) sit in Taurus, an earth sign denoting stability, fixed vision, abundance, and earth. The placement helps with grounding, becoming quiet within, and contemplating the beauty of nature. It may aid in the development of a singular focus on desires and ambitions.

Sun and Moon square Mars (assertion, action), asking for personal balance with expression and emotion. These aspects can also cause emotional outbursts and frustration. Sun and Moon square Pluto (subconscious, transformation), which involves old patterns and wounds, and Pluto often reveals them for clearing. It’s part of the process of creating a “new” self, which is in greater alignment with the universe.

Mercury (communication) in Aries, a fire sign, points to the power of focusing on communication; it sharpens the intellect, bringing a rapid exchange of thoughts and ideas. Mercury trine Mars (assertion) marks a time of enhanced confidence, heightened speaking ability and greater mental focus.

Venus (love, relationships, abundance) is in Pisces where it is exalted, amplifying the sensation of universal love. Venus trine Mars (action) gives heightened passion and encourages social interaction.  Venus square Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) focuses on unnecessary vanity, idleness, and procrastination, which it’s wise to avoid.)   Venus conjunct Saturn (limitation, karma) is a time to revisit relationships, commitments, and promises made in the past. With this view, it’s possible to rewrite and create a better future.

Mars (assertion, overall energy) sits in Leo, a fire sign, and it gives passionate energy as well as the strength to take confident, bold action. Mars trine Saturn (karma, limitation) encourages self-improvement and embarking on a path to greater success. Mars trine Neptune (illusion, mysticism) increases creativity and spiritual awareness. Mars opposition Pluto (subconscious, transformation) stimulates intense emotions, personal growth, and transformation.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) is placed in Gemini, an air sign, encourages AI, electronic communication, and exchange of thoughts and ideas. Jupiter conjunct Neptune (illusion, mysticism) increases compassion and artistic abilities.

Saturn (limitation, karma) in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, pulls up the karma of the Age of Pisces. It presents a period of reflection–to potentially view errors, make changes, and (hopefully) create a better view of the future. Saturn sextile Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) gives self-discipline, endurance, and inventiveness. Saturn conjunct Neptune (illusion, mysticism) occurs every 36 years, delivering a time of significant personal shifts such as releasing old patterns and disillusionment that can lead to the experience of new and better realities.

Uranus, planet of change and the quantum field, is placed in Taurus, which draws our attention to the Earth. This energy can be utilized for destruction or healing. Uranus sextile Neptune (illusion, mysticism) represents spiritual awakening and use of the imagination in a positive sense. Uranus trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives a potential period for creative, new thoughts and unexpected positive changes.

Neptune (illusion, mysticism) is in Aries--completing a 13-year cycle in Pisces–a sign that focuses its strong will on desires and dreams. Neptune rules the seas and emotions of mass consciousness. As it floats back and forth between Pisces and Aries, it’s time to focus our hopes on a better, kinder, and more generous world. Neptune sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) can bring about positive self-transformation and aid with releasing patterns from the past.

Pluto (subconscious, transformation) is placed in Aquarius, which tends to push life into a place of unexpected events, realizations about patterns in life, and big revolutionary changes. (Put on your seatbelt.)

Overall, it’s an excellent chart for altering life in a positive direction, particularly if we tap into the grounding aspect of Sun/Moon in Taurus. The elements are well balanced, and, yes, it’s intense. Fortunately, the planets aligned to deliver strength, confidence, and answers if we persist on the path.
