Awakening is associated with learning about the true presence. It is a process, a method of attuning to the direction of the true presence. There are several steps of the process. The first involves believing and knowing the true self is there. Rest assured that the true self hears and feels our desire By recognizing and expanding moments of connection—such as happiness, peace, or joy—we connect more deeply.
A feeling of stillness and peace comes with the true presence. Meditation develops the feeling of presence. In meditation, the true presence mediates between our earthly presence and the universe at large. It connects us to a larger paradigm of reality with universal truths, which are much larger than the laws of “real life.” For example, we can send light or love to a person, without knowing where they are, and the person can receive it instantaneously. (This is transmittal—a method of sharing one’s spiritual truth or abilities.)
One of the indications of success with meditation and energetic practices is the desire for higher vibrations. The feeling of universal connection—the true self—delivers light, expanded possibility, and a deep feeling of love. By culturing and developing this relationship, inner guidance is provided over time.
Awakening is much more than meditating. In my experience, meditation helped in developing an inner calm and a quiet, peaceful feeling. My intuitive abilities also increased. But true awakening came when I saw the inner light in every particle of life. I could see how light lies beneath the structure of every object on the earth–and how the fibers were guided perfectly by the light above. The One Light appeared in many forms. (It’s fascinating to note that the inner light of nature responds to our individual light.) Soon after, I found a teacher in wolves—and I learned to see life in a different way.
After awakening, life is the same. But we perceive it in a different light. We become aware of the true self, which alters our way of understanding life.
In my practice as a teacher, I’ve watched students experience the process of awakening although their work may have begun with a physical problem such as abundance, relationships, or physical pain. Over time, awakening has come to many of them—and manifested as a deep understanding and ability with universal forces. (It does not come to everyone. Some people simply want to feel better or to have a better life. Others devote themselves to sensing the spiritual energy beneath the practices. But awakening does come to those who seek it with heart, body, and soul.)
- Everyone has a true presence. We’ve all felt it.
- The True Presence holds the qualities of the soul. It connects us with the universe, the One in All.
- The level of energy—both physical and spiritual—affects our ability to tap into our true presence. Higher vibrations help in identifying this presence.
- Meditation brings about connection with soul qualities. It can increase our light level.
- All spiritual work is part of finding the True Self.
- Connection with the spiritual self is often the component that makes manifestation work.
- There is a mysterious, unknown quality in spiritual work. We pursue stepping into the unknown.
Here are a few insights:
- As we become more conscious, our awareness shifts. We become aware that “reality” shifts, spins, and stirs with the state of our consciousness, which is reflected in the flow of events. (This may cause positive and negative events in life such as the falling away of specific relationships and/or unexpected opportunities.)
- We affect “life” and our lives more than we want to admit. Our lower thoughts and feelings may attract an irritable person, and higher thoughts may pull in a flow of love. (For example, the sun shines when we think a higher thought, or we receive a pleasant email from a loved one.) Conversely, we can also become more sensitive to the negative energy of others, which can mean altering relationships, learning to communicate in a different way, or changing an aspect of life.
- Consciousness connects us more deeply to all sources of information and energy. We feel life more intensely. We may feel more drawn or repelled to particular sources of information. Our higher consciousness begins to direct us more strongly. (As we become more intuitive, our “reads” and feelings become more accurate–and are felt more forcefully.)
- Energetic changes affect us more. For example, we may feel tired or over-energized with the current planetary changes. We may experience calm or anxiety. (Meditation–and water–help with swings.)
- Swings in duality – the movement of emotions and thoughts – may seem stronger. When we experience the inner self, consciousness moves into a place of being centered. It focuses on “ONE” point. Naturally, we’re more aware of the motion after a quiet experience.
- Part of the shift can feel painful because it means moving away from people that we refuse to grow and/or releasing aspects of life that are meaningful to us. In a real sense, we’re leaving the past behind, but it doesn’t always feel easy or comfortable.
- Increased consciousness brings awareness of our impact on our internal/external state. We begin to understand how our happiness and unhappiness respond to our internal dialog, old beliefs, and expectations. With this awareness, life shifts.
- “Giving” and “helping” are subtly changing. We can hold a vision or send light to anyone, but our spiritual help is balanced with the spiritual commitment and effort of the receiver. (In the Piscean Age, healers and light workers gave in a different way by pouring out energy whenever they felt led to share and help. In the Aquarian Age, we balance and gauge energy for the best effect.)
- During flashes of awakening, we perceive a beautiful future in a balanced world. There is a feeling of reassurance, comfort, and support. (We may wonder about it in difficult moments, but it is how the universe shares its visions—and activates it through our light.)

Julia Griffin, intuitive healer and owner of One True Self, began her work fifteen years ago under the tutelage of real wolves. Following their direction, Julia sees and reads energy, including animals, plants and people. She works with people in session to find their resonance with the soul, clearing patterns and alignment with their inner path.
