Fall appears in earnest with bright leaves and shorter days. As the days darken, we move into eclipse season–a whole new series of cosmic weather. The stars and planets present a dramatic event with Saturday’s (October 14) annular solar eclipse and New Moon. The Solar Eclipse appears between 10:30 am and 1:30 ET, preceding the New Moon at 1:55 pm. A ring of fire accompanies the eclipse as the moon partially obscures the Sun, and the outer edge of the sun remains visible.

An element of the eclipse is repeated with the placement of Sun/Moon on Libra 22, which occurred nineteen years ago. The Sabian Symbol for Libra 22 is “A Child Giving Birds a Drink at a Fountain”, which symbolizes compassion and nurturing–the desire to serve others as a part of universal growth.

Sun (life), Moon (emotion), and Mercury (communication) in Libra emphasize partnerships, beauty, and creativity. Libra seeks beauty and balance but is often indecisive. Sun (life) and Moon (emotion) conjunct Mercury (communication), which sharpens the mind and gives clear expression of thoughts. Sun (life), Moon (emotion), and Mars (action) trine Saturn (karma), reminding us of the importance of applying life lessons to create a more harmonious present and future.

Sun (life), Moon (emotion), and Mars square Pluto (subconscious) and oppose the South Node (karma). In short, it’s a good time to recognize and clear old karma by understanding subconscious patterns and events that create limitations. It’s equally important to know we can release patterns through new perceptions and recreate our lives in a higher form.

Venus (love, relationships) is in Virgo, which can enlarge our critical nature. However, Venus trines Jupiter (good fortune), indicating that reflecting on love or staying in the heart can lead us into good luck and happiness. Venus opposition Saturn (karma, limitation) may give a brief sensation of loneliness and sadness; it also makes communication within relationships difficult.

Mars (action, male energy) is in Scorpio, the position of the warrior who conquers and/or endures. The aspect gives strength, focus, and power, and it can help with restructuring our lives—if we allow it. Mars trine Saturn (karma, limitation) gives passion, endurance, and the ability to succeed.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Taurus focuses on the earth, abundance, and growth. Jupiter conjunct Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) presents opportunities for change, growth, and breakthroughs.  New perceptions can lead to discovering solutions or answers for old problems.

Saturn is retrograde on the first degree of Pisces, representing the karma of the past Age and the emotional connection of mass consciousness. Saturn (limitation, karma) square Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) may seem to block changes and cause limitations, but we can overcome the energy through patience and methodical work.

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) in Taurus speaks about earth changes, inner awareness, and the desire for independence. Uranus sextile Neptune (mysticism, illusion) represents a growing awareness of the need for spiritual awakening. Uranus trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) encourages transcending limitations, increasing awareness of the inner self, and opening to new possibilities.

Neptune (mysticism, illusion) in Pisces connects everyone through a sea of emotion—both positively and negatively. Neptune sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) draws our consciousness into greater awareness of spirituality and metaphysics.

Pluto (subconscious, transformation) is direct in Capricorn, exerting its normal pull by asking us to look for the energy and cause of repeating circumstances. Reflect on the mysteries behind the feelings and thoughts lying beneath repetitive events to alter the underlying beliefs and create a better future.
