The Winds of Change & Full Moon

The winds of change are strong and swift with the appearance of the Full Moon at 10:35 am on July 29.  The Sun (life, light) is placed in Leo, the royal sign of the Lion (heart, ego), and the Moon (emotion) is placed in Aquarius, the water-bearer (thought, belief, group endeavors). The fixed signs give fire and air, stimulating creativity and higher thought.

Jupiter in Leo square Pluto in Aquarius is a strong influence, insisting on or causing change. It’s said to alter the structure of the world, including politics, religion, and beliefs, which may include the possibility of creating a new, positive structure in its place. The basket or bowl configuration is strengthened by the full Moon. Sun and Moon are in the same signs, and Sun opposes Pluto (subconscious, transformation).

North and South Node of the Moon changed on July 26. The North Node indicates where mankind should grow. Placed in Aquarius, it points to group endeavors supporting growth and improvement in consciousness—and asks for stretching beyond our old beliefs and habits of thinking in black and white. South Node, ruling hidden patterns and habits, in Leo suggests the importance of moving away from validation and the desire for approval by moving into the independence of the inner self who speaks from the heart. (In short, it’s about working with and for the Universe.)

All energies point to the importance of developing the self within group consciousness. The pattern of Leo/Aquarius is repeated 3 times in the chart. Many aspects with Pluto involve excavating the subconscious to discover the “why” behind our beliefs—and possibly changing them. As Neale Donald Walsch often says, “It’s the questions that are important—not the answers. Asking new questions teaches consciousness to move away from limitations by finding new possibilities. (Join me by doing the same inner work.)

Long term aspects with Pluto are sometimes difficult, but they lead to finding our inner strengths and gifts. (I divorced my husband during a year-long transit with Pluto, and it was difficult—but I learned about myself and grew tremendously as a result.)

These potential changes are followed by the Solar Eclipse/New Moon on August 12, and eclipses are known for causing change.

Sun in Leo is bright, romantic, and fun. Sun trines Saturn (limitation, karma) places an emphasis on duty, obligation and the meeting of deadlines. It’s good for developing self-discipline. Sun trine Neptune (mysticism, illusion) strengthens artistic abilities, connection with the universe, and dreams. Sun opposition Pluto (subconscious, transformation) unveils our shadow and old memories, creates a desire to become more authentic, and brings potential for the creation of a new self-image.

Moon in Aquarius trine Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) gives emotional freedom and quick insights. Moon trine Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) gives creativity, emotional energy, and a desire for freedom. Moon conjunct Pluto (subconscious, transformation) intensifies emotions and feelings and the need to look at hidden truths.

Mercury (communications) is direct in Cancer. It may confuse deep emotions and thoughts, causing difficulty with finding the right direction for tasks and skills. Mercury square Saturn (limitation, karma) can temporarily heighten blocks and make it difficult to complete work quickly.

Venus (art, love, wealth) in Virgo is somewhat critical and limited with love. Venus squares Mars (masculine, overall energy), causing slight conflicts between feminine and masculine or male and female, which is challenging. It’s important to voice tensions and conflicts in a non-judgmental or neutral manner.

Mars (assertion, overall energy)  in Gemini accelerates energy, communication, and drive, but the quick energy can give feelings of feeling scattered or untethered.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Leo brings creativity, confidence, and joy. It also brings visibility. It’s a good time to consider how you want to feel visible or perceived. The shadow side of the placement includes the desire for attention and visibility associated with the ego and unnecessary drama.

Overall, there are many supportive aspects in chart. It’s important to stay grounded by spending time outdoors or exercising as fire and air tend to stimulate the mind. Water (emotion) and earth (body) need the support. Hold onto your hat! Many strong changes are on the way with the Jupiter/Pluto aspect.
