Lady Midnight by Christian Schloe
The New Moon occurs on July 14 at 5:43 a.m. Normally, it brings stillness–a time for reflection–but this New Moon brings a huge transformation.
Barbault, a French astrologer, wrote about the current configuration of planets, which form a bowl-like shape between Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), Neptune (illusion, mysticism) and Pluto (subconscious, transformation). Baibault thought the configuration marked a time of reflowering—of heightened mystical ability and a flow into greater consciousness.
Although the formation began over a year ago, all three planets are placed on 4 degrees, making the alignment exact. In short, it’s an open window for raising consciousness through spiritual studies, teachers, and disciplined meditation.
Along with these 3 planets, Jupiter (growth, expansion) opposes Pluto (subconscious, transformation), a very powerful aspect, which becomes exact on July 20. The aspect marks a time of transformation of belief systems, the collapse of old faith structures, and a time of something new, unknown, and likely original. Pluto tends to reveal what is hidden beneath the surface, and Jupiter expands it. While we experience this periodically in our personal lives, it’s quite different when everyone experiences it.
Three steps are suggested to move through this aspect: contemplating the value of the individual work and its impact on the “all”, using creativity to build a life that supports others such as holding a positive vision for the future, and living through the heart or the inner self.
Sun (life) and Moon (emotions) are placed in Cancer, a water sign speaking of home, domesticity, and the emotions that move through life. The only way to understand emotion is through observation, which comes from the inner self. Some emotions come from the heart, and others perplex us.
In addition to the planetary mix, Mercury (communication, electronics) is retrograde in Cancer, a feminine water sign, until July 23. Mercury retrograde is typically a time for patience in the outer world as waiting and delays are common. In the inner world, it’s a wonderful time for reviewing, revising, and salvaging or finishing previous plans and projects.
Venus (love, relationships, art) in Virgo, an air sign, tends toward critical and analytical expression with loved ones, but love is demonstrated through acts of devotion. Venus squares Mars (assertion, overall energy), diminishing a sense of harmony between the sexes. Venus squares Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), creating strong and unpredictable emotions.
Mars (assertion, overall energy) in Gemini, an air sign, accelerates socialization, multi-tasking, and communication. The mental energy may be over-stimulated and cause burn-out or exhaustion. Mars conjunct Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) may cause sudden bursts of energy, unpredictability, and impulsiveness. Mars trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives a surge of energy, personal power, and focus. It delivers regenerative energy.
Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Leo gives creativity, self-expression, and creativity. Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) trine Neptune (mysticism, illusion) gives creativity, warmth, imagination, and the power to pursue dreams. It also may create blind spots, the inability to check excessive spending and practical judgement.
Saturn (limitation, karma) in Aries presents a period of initiating projects and focusing energy. The planet and sign are somewhat in conflict as Aries ask for speed and Saturn for patience and slow motion. Sun (light), Moon (emotion, and Mercury (communication) are square Saturn, which causes a conflict between easy, creative self-expression and the heaviness of the planet of karma. It’s easy to worry or hold a negative vision, but it’s not necessary as many aspects are found in the chart to uplift the spirit.)
Uranus (sudden change), Neptune (illusion, mysticism), and Pluto (subconscious, transformation) are involved in a positive configuration that can aid with spirituality, awakening, and awareness. (See Barbault at the beginning of the post.)
