The New Moon appears on June 6, ushering in a time of stillness and contemplation of growth for the next part of the lunar cycle. (Everything on Earth passes through cycles of duality. The full moon brings growth, fertility, and motion, and the new moon gives stillness—a time of releasing what doesn’t serve us.)

This New Moon brings light-hearted feelings with many planets placed in fire and air.  Overall, it’s a wonderful chart with Sun and Moon conjunct Mercury (communication) and Venus (love), heightening expressions of the mind and soul. Aspects of Jupiter (expansion, good luck) and Pluto (subconscious, transformation) promote success and expansion in life. However, Saturn forms squares with Sun (life), Moon (emotion), and Venus (love). Saturn may limit or delay progress with goals, but Saturn also rewards hard work and perseverance. If we decide to continue and press onward with a goal, Saturn extends its help. (The upcoming full moon will help with reaching goals, too.)

Sun (life), Moon (emotion), Mercury (communication), and Venus (love, relationships) are placed in Gemini, an air sign that governs duality, versatility, mentality, and sociability. Ruled by Mercury, the sign is particularly gifted with self-expression, conveying perceptions, and noting subtleties. Gemini’s weakness is lack of consistency, making it a good time to develop self-sustaining habits and practices. (The New Moon is the perfect time for resolutions.)

Sun conjuncts Mercury (communication), providing intelligence, wisdom, courage, and sharpness of mental faculties. Sun conjunct Venus (love, relationships) gives love, harmony, and beauty. It benefits relationships, abundance, and creativity, aiding with expression in relationships and artistic endeavors. Sun square Saturn (karma, limitation) is restrictive, and it may cause feelings of loneliness or rejection. It may challenge our ability to achieve goals, but we can alter Saturn’s energy through commitment, hard work, and endurance. (Meditation and visualization can help in overcoming limitations.)

Moon (emotion) conjunct Mercury (communications) creates harmonious alignment between the emotions and thought. It heightens intelligence, sociability, and memory, and it confers adaptability on an emotional and mental level. Moon conjunct Venus (love, relationships, abundance) brings happiness, warmth, and harmony. It intensifies emotions in a pleasant way. Moon square Saturn (karma, limitation) may cause sadness and loneliness, particularly with repetitive emotions which resonate with childhood or traumatic events. It’s best to try to learn from it by altering our mood with higher vibrations or contemplation of happier times.

Mercury (communication) in Gemini increases the ability to think deeply, see life from different perspectives, and communicate with more clarity and accuracy. Mercury conjunct Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) gives greater self-understanding, generosity, and opportunity. It expands mental comprehension and finding innovative solutions. Mercury trines Pluto (subconscious, transformation), and aspects with Pluto confer power, will, and depth. The mind can become focused and intense, and the mind and willpower can work together to create desires and transformation of obstacles. It can also intensify the ability to understand esoteric aspects of spirituality.

Venus (love, relationships, abundance) in Gemini is light-hearted, flirtatious, and sociable. It increases social activities, intellect, and curiosity. It gives enthusiasm and the possibility of positive changes in the home life. Venus square Saturn (limitation, karma) increases the importance of letting others receive our love. It’s possible to feel distance in relationships, but it’s likely to come from personal fears or incorrect perceptions of the self.

Mars (assertion, masculine, overall energy) in Aries is impulsive, assertive, and forceful. (Think of the ram, which symbolizes Aries, bumping its head into a rock or goat.)  This placement brings passion, intensity, and love for new beginnings into life. Mars squares Pluto (subconscious, transformation) heightens courage and willpower; it conveys the energy to achieve goals. It delivers an intense energy that can help in reaching the next level of work, consciousness, or creativity.

Jupiter (expansion, good luck) in Gemini improves the ability to communicate on a deeper level. It increases luck and the likelihood of positive events.  Jupiter conjunct Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) marks a time of change in consciousness through rebellion, creativity, or innovation. It also refers to the potential of awakening and living in a state of higher vibrations.  Jupiter sextile Neptune (illusion, mysticism) expands the imagination and the ability to open to the mystical world. It heightens inspiration, creativity, intuition, and synchronicity.  Jupiter trines Pluto (subconscious transformation), which brings strong, harmonious energy between expansion/new plans and power/will. In short, the combined energies help with focus, achievement, and success—if we apply them in our lives.

Saturn (limitation, karma) in Pisces pertains to the misuse and proper use of energies in the past Age. It clarifies needed changes within us and the outer world. For example, in earlier times, spiritual connection came through priest and priestesses, and now we can find connection for ourselves through meditation and contemplation. The need to clean the environment is equally obvious. Saturn sextile Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) aids in understanding the role of our past, present, and possible future. It combines the best qualities of the old and new. It gives the power of innovation, self-discipline, and endurance.

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) in Taurus marks a time of change on earth—the weather patterns, the plants, and the environment. It denotes a period of corporate greed such as the poor versus billionaires and the pollution of the earth by corporations.  Uranus sextile Neptune (illusion, mysticism) represents spiritual awakening and the possibility of finding answers to world problems through higher consciousness. Uranus trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) is an evolutionary change that can lead us into greater self-understanding. It’s a positive period of releasing karma, and recalibrating life.

Neptune (illusion, mysticism) sits in Pisces, the sign of the fish swimming in two directions. Neptune in Pisces can pull us together through emotion—both high and low. Neptune sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) asks for surrendering old points of view and considering life from a new or better perspective. It encourages moving into a higher form of spirituality.

Pluto (subconscious, transformation) in Aquarius speaks of the New Age and changes such as AI as well as the possibility of communicating in new ways.
