The Full Moon appears on January 25, 2024. It’s called the Wolf Moon as indigenous people thought wolves howled more than usual during this point in the lunar cycle. Perhaps, the wolves’ voices carried more easily on the frozen plains—or perhaps the wolves sang about the new year and/or the return of the light.

Sun (life) is in Aquarius, which is symbolized by a starry man or woman pouring water from a container, representing a blend of air’s communicative ability and water’s empathetic nature.  Aquarian characteristics include a progressive, independent, and humanitarian nature. Aquarius rules the eleventh house, the house of group endeavors, and the Age of Aquarius is said to mark the evolution and awakening of a large group of humanity.

Moon (emotion) sits in proud Leo, the fiery sign that rules the heart. It’s a passionate and dramatic sign associated with drama and high emotion. Aquarius is an air sign, slightly detached and skilled with mentality, and Leo exudes emotion. In every full moon chart, we practice the skill of balancing as Sun and Moon are in opposite signs during each full moon cycle.

Sun (life) squares Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), bringing the gift of good fortune and confidence, but it works best with discipline and focus on projects. Sun conjunct Pluto (subconscious, transformation) increases personal power and insight into destiny. It can also bring power struggles, and it’s wise to disengage. It’s an excellent time to progress with personal goals.

Moon (emotion) square Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) may increase the need to look at personal beliefs and perspectives—increasing the need to change or expand them. Moon trine Neptune (illusion, mysticism) increases sensitivity, intuition, creativity, and artistic expression. Moon opposes Pluto (subconscious, transformation) may trigger old emotional patterns, but it also gives strength to recognize and alter them.

Mercury (communications) in Capricorn, an earth sign, is practical, efficient, and grounded. Ideas and thoughts are realistic and centered. Mercury is conjunct Mars (action, assertion, overall energy), which helps in aligning thoughts with right action, making this a good time to pursue goals in the outer world or positive changes with the physical body. Mercury trine Jupiter (good fortune, expansion) brings harmony and optimism, and it aids with the creation of new dreams and desires. Mercury trine Uranus (sudden change, quantum change) gives brilliance and genius on the mental level.

Venus (relationship, beauty, love) in Capricorn is a bit aloof and cool. Venus trine Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) brings optimism, happiness, and a positive mood. It’s a good time to socialize and create connections. Venus square Neptune (illusion, mysticism) heightens sensitivity, emotions, and artistic ability. It lowers confidence and can cause difficulty with self-love and appreciation.

Mars (assertion, male energy) is exalted and powerful in Capricorn; it aids with structure, completion of projects, and significant tasks. The placement gives a sense of purpose and direction. Mars trines Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), which increases both power and energy. It lends expansion and success to the expression of heartfelt endeavors. Mars trine Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) encourages breaking through old limitations and new experiences and activities.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Taurus, an earth sign, focuses on the earth and her resources, personal resources, accumulation of money, and the distribution of money. Jupiter expands everything it touches from greed to responsible consciousness. The placement of the mind, emotions, and spiritual nature determine its focus. Jupiter sextiles Saturn (limitation, karma) gives an optimistic but practical outlook of life. Jupiter square Pluto (subconscious, transformation) intensifies the desire to succeed. It gives power and energy to projects, and it heightens the desire to succeed.

Saturn (limitation, karma) in Pisces, a water sign represented by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. Water is emotion, and it may bring up old memories, both good and bad, as well as moments of disconnection or times when we lacked understanding. It can also give memories of connection, strength, and love because the fish move in opposite directions. (It’s helpful to send love and light to the part of us who experiences negative memories.)

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) in Taurus rules the earth, and significant earth changes have occurred since it moved into this sign. Uranus in Taurus also makes it possible for us to work with earth and find breakthrough solutions to resolve earth issues such as climate change. Neptune (illusion, mysticism) in Pisces rules the sea, water, emotions, and connects everyone on the psychic and astral planes. Neptune sextiles Pluto (subconscious, transformation) aids with studies involving creativity, art, and spirituality.

Pluto (subconscious transformation) moved into Aquarius, a pioneering air sign, on January 20. Pluto rules power, personal growth, revolution, and technology. The sign of Aquarius rules electronics, and it may influence computers, cell phones, and communications in the future.
