The still darkness of the New Moon comes when the sky is velvet-black, and the stars shine like small lanterns in the sky. Moving beyond the unsettling energies of eclipse season, this New Moon marks the time of dark fall—the receding light—through its appearance on November 1, the Day of the Dead, at 7:47 a.m.

The New Moon also opens our soul to Scorpio season–a period of intense, intuitive energy, which ruled by Pluto, lord of the subconscious and inner transformation. Pluto represents the hidden world within us, including internal patterns, the desire to transcend limitations in the inner and outer world, hidden gifts, and inner resources.

The chart is filled with planets in water, and water represents emotion. Emotions may run high, and part of awakening lies in understanding and unraveling the reason for their appearance. A Grand Water Trine occurs between Mercury (thought), Mars (action), and Neptune (illusion, mysticism), which can help with focusing right thought and action through spiritual inspiration. There’s also a Mystical Kite, which activates desires when approached from a place of love. (Both are extremely beneficial.)

Magical aspects are found throughout the chart, giving guidance and support. Also, the Mars/Pluto aspect is reminiscent of 2020 when Mars/Pluto formed hard angles. Mars (assertion, male) opposition Pluto (transformation, subconscious) combines passion, emotion, and strong desires with impulsive action. The aspect will regress and ingress through April 2025.

Sun (life) and Moon (emotion) are in Scorpio, a water sign ruling deep emotions and hidden occult secrets. Sun and Moon harmoniously trine Saturn (limitation, structure, the past). Sun trine Saturn gives patience, persistence, and grace to overcome obstacles and succeed in life. Moon trine Saturn brings practicality and organization abilities. It also aids with working through sensitive, complex relationship issues. Sun and Moon square Pluto brings subconscious thoughts and patterns to surface for observation and clearing. The two aspects may briefly intensify negative emotions.

Mystical conjunctions of the star Antares with Mercury (mind) and the Sun (life) occur throughout the month of November. Astrologer Cayelin Casteel defines Antares as “one of the magical stars of Ancient Alchemists and one of the occur 4 Royal Stars of even more ancient times.” All four of the royal stars (including Regulus, Aldebaran, and Fomalhaut) are linked with their own unique teachings, special powers and successes. Antares’ gift is the power of the heart and love to overcome circumstances and difficulties.

Mercury (mind, communication) sits in Scorpio. Intuitive abilities flow easily, deepening thought and understanding. Mercury trine Mars (assertion, masculine) adds energy by smoothly connecting thought and action. It can bring the desire for conflict and the tendency to reflect on negativity with others. Mercury opposition Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) speeds the pace of time and may cause the mind to spin rapidly, which may cause tension. Mercury trine Neptune (illusion, mysticism) brings creativity, heightened intuition, and connection with universal energies.

Mars (assertion, power, male) sits in Cancer, a slightly volatile position because Cancer seeks protection and may overreact to situations or misinterpret emotion.. Mars trine Neptune (illusion, mysticism) increases creativity, sensitivity, and sensuality. It increases sensitivity to the subtle world and heightens spiritual abilities.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Gemini squares Saturn (karma, limitation), encouraging the expression of a new self, which is created by releasing the past. Jupiter square Neptune (illusion, mysticism) asks for discipline, realism, and awareness as it expands dreaminess, procrastination, and illusion.

Saturn (karma, structure) is in Pisces, a water sign that refers to the karmic conditions imposed by the Piscean Age—and finding a way to balance or compensate for the old energies.

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) in Taurus refers to new earth or new methods of working with the earth. Uranus sextiles Neptune (illusion, mysticism) encourages spiritual awakening and the quest for philosophical answers.  Uranus trine Pluto gives big shifts in consciousness, which dependent on the placement of the personal mind and consciousness.

Neptune (illusion, mysticism) in Pisces, a water sign, is currently flooding the world through rains, storms, and hurricanes. Neptune connects everyone in a sea of emotion, which can range from higher love to anger and fear. Neptune sextiles Pluto (subconscious, transformation), encouraging spiritual growth and realization.

Pluto (subconscious, underworld) is in Capricorn, the old placement that concerns fiscal, economic and political structure. In a few weeks, it will move forward into Aquarius, the ruler of the New Age.
