The New Moon appeared on February 1, and we’ll feel the energy for approximately 7-10 days. It’s a very special Moon as it marks the time when the life force begins to ascend, and the growing light becomes apparent. The chart offers opportunity and growth; it also offers odd, unexpected events, resulting from Uranus’ influence. It can lead to insights about the mystic, lack of control or desire to control, the desire to open our hearts to humanitarian issues, or simply help with evolution.
Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Saturn (karma) are in Aquarius, the sign of the water bearer. Aquarius is an air sign, ruling mentality, humanitarian pursuits, group consciousness, and the importance of the individual. Ruled by Uranus, they are unusual and seekers of the greater good.
Sun and Moon conjunct Saturn (karma), which can increase our awareness of limitation or give a feeling of inhibition. It may also give strength and perseverance. Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and square Uranus, causing unexpected change and erratic emotions or thoughts. We can counter the aspect by remembering that emotions and thoughts are not always “real”, and they often pass in a few hours—as we return to our inner self.
Mercury is direct on February 3, and communication, electronics, and travel will run more smoothly. It’s easier to focus our thoughts and stay on track. Mercury sextiles Neptune (mysticism, illusion), connecting thoughts with the mystical, spiritual world. Mercury conjunct Pluto offers insight into control issues and may reveal subconscious desires for power. (We generally crave power when we feel powerless or out of control.)Venus moved direct on January 29, offering closer relationships, greater understanding of the other person’s point of view, and fulfillment in romantic relationships. Venus (love, relationships) and Mars (energy, assertion) are in Capricorn. Venus in Capricorn can feel a bit cold and repressive, but Mars in Capricorn is fabulous for pursing goals, success, and ambition.
Venus and Mars are conjunct, which offers a balance and harmony between the male/feminine sides of the self, yin/yang, and pleasant feelings in relationships.Venus and Mars sextile Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) gives high ideals and excellent instincts with actions and relationships. It improves good luck in all areas, particularly in business and personal relationships. It heightens creativity and self-expression. Venus and Mars trine Uranus (sudden change, quantum field). Venus trine Uranus, aids in releasing old patterns of inhibition, particularly with self-expression in relationships. It increases artistic and creative expression. Mars trine Uranus increases the ability to take small risks, good judgement, and overall strength. It can lead to examination of the desire for greater personal independence.
Saturn (karma, limitation) squares Uranus (quantum field, sudden change), and it expands the great divide on human issues, politics, environment, and more. The energy can be applied to know one’s beliefs and refrain from judgement. When seeing a lack of truth, we can visualize our personal truth and have the courage to pursue it.
Neptune (mysticism, illusion) sextiles Pluto (subconscious, transformation) increases our desire for spiritualty, awakening, and understanding of metaphysics.
