The Full Moon appears on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 am after illuminating the twlight-colored sky. It’s a time of fruition, germination, and heightened emotion. Full and New Moons bring charts of conflicting and harmonious energies, which affect us in various ways for approximately 10 days. By understanding the planetary energies, we can receive insights into our thoughts and feelings.
It’s a fertile moon with Sun (life) placed in Pisces, a water sign depicted by two fishes swimming in opposite directions. Pisces represents the wisdom of all twelve signs, and it expresses creativity, artistic ability, emotional depth, and intelligence. Moon (emotion) is in Virgo, an earth sign that is practical, patient, organized, and critical. (Everything grows and germinates on the Full Moon. (Try trimming your hair or casting seeds into the garden to elicit its force and power with growth.)
Sun (life) conjuncts Mercury (communications), heightening the intellect, encouraging rapid thought, and connecting us with the mystical world. Moon (emotion) opposition Mercury (communication) can cause difficulty with communication and expression of our inner feelings.
Sun sextile Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) may provide new opportunities in life. Moon trine Jupiter (expansion) bestows happiness, positive emotions, and self-understanding. Sun conjunct Saturn (limitation) indicates a period of challenges and slow progress. The two aspects with Jupiter can act as a boon, and they also support manifestation and inner work with dreams and desires. Moon opposition Saturn (limitation) can give feelings of loneliness or boredom. (However, the aspects with Jupiter (expansion) can overcome the limitations of aspects with Saturn as they are truly excellent aspects.)
Mercury (mind, communications) in Pisces focuses on emotion for of the mind. Memories may seem particularly strong, and we may spend time focusing on the past. (It’s helpful to consciously dwell on positive memories) Pisces represents endings, making it a good time to let go of what is no longer needed on an emotional level. Mercury conjunct Saturn (limitation) deepens thinking and gives focus for challenging work.
Venus (love, relationships) in Aquarius may be fixed on independence, New Age concepts, or future plans. Venus square Jupiter (expansion) prefers fun to work with a tendency to overspend. Venus square Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) brings sudden change of moods and/or emotions, which occurs in relationships. Venus conjunct Pluto (underworld, transformation) increases the need for love and affection, and intensifies the need for reassurance.
Venus (love, relationships) and Mars (energy, masculine) are both conjunct (close) in Aquarius. When Venus and Mars are conjunct (very close) with harmonic energy, it brings together male and female energies in a balanced way.
Mars (overall energy, assertion) in Aquarius is not grounded, and it moves from one action to another—often without direction. It favors collaborating with others through work. Mars square Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) brings energy for new goals and projects. Mars square Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) gives unpredictability, sudden changes with thoughts and action, but it may also become a catalyst for creative work. Mars conjunct Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives power, increased desire, and success with goals.
Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Taurus, an earth sign, concerns abundance, accumulation of physical goods, and the earth. Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) sextile Saturn (limitation, karma) delivers patience, perseverance, and a realistic understanding of limitations and abilities. Jupiter conjunct Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) is a new vibration, marking the energy of both planets in Taurus and signifying the energy of change for the next decade. Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) square Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives a strong desire to succeed and heightens drive.
Saturn (limitation, karma) is placed in Pisces, perhaps bringing balance and karma to the last of the Piscean Age. Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) sits in Taurus, ruling the many changes in the earth. Neptune (mysticism, illusion) is found in Pisces, affecting the emotions of group consciousness and the tides of the sea. Pluto (underworld, transformation) in Aquarius affects freedom and group endeavors.
