The Full Moon appeared on Monday, November 27 with many beneficial aspects—and a few challenges. It’s the Beaver Moon, which occurs when beavers retire to their dens in anticipation of the winter months. Animals were trapped during this time for their fur, which was particularly lush and dense. It’s also the time of dreaming and sleeping when the earth lies frozen and cold.

With Sun in Sagittarius and Moon in Gemini, it’s a wonderful chart for the holiday season with many planets placed in fire. Fire signs tend to bring excitement, creativity, and energy–all needed at this time of the year. Sagittarius is a sign of expansion, particularly with wider horizons and goals. It helps with spiritual growth, motion, and inner focus. Gemini increases versatility and sociability; it enhances mental focus.

Sun (life) conjunct Mars (power, assertion, and energy) gives an abundance of energy and initiative, which is best applied through creativity, physical exercise, or the attainment of goals. Sun square Saturn (limitation, karma) asks for determination to overcome limiting circumstances and/or tests of character. (For those who seek light, we know of the devotion necessary to remain in a positive vibration and pull away from collective consciousness.) Sun trine Neptune (mysticism, illusion) encourages achievement of personal goals and success as opposed to putting others first. Its influence increases artistic and creative ability.

Moon (emotion) opposition Mars (power, assertion) brings impulsive emotions and irritability. Moon square Saturn (limitation, karma) may make emotions and personal aspects of life more difficult. Moon trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) increases emotional sensitivity and strong emotional reactions, but it also helps with clearing old emotions and patterns. (Meditation helps to mitigate fluctuating emotions, particularly when many aspects align with the moon.)

Mercury (mind) in Sagittarius gives a feeling of optimism, broadens thoughts, and emphasizes the larger picture of life. It increases our faith and causes the mind to become more philosophical. The weakness is overlooking details and a lack of consistency. Mercury sextile Venus (love, relationships) increases charm and social skills, heightens the expression of love and affection, and improves relationships.

Venus (love, relationships) in Libra focuses on balance and beauty. It helps with seeing the beauty in the world and maintaining a sense of balance. Venus trine Saturn (limitation, karma) aids with commitment in relationships (on all levels) and long-term investments. It steadies emotions and gives stability. Venus square Pluto increases the will to succeed through the fulfillment of deep desires. It may also increase jealousy and possessiveness.

Mars (assertion, overall energy) in Sagittarius asks for expanding beliefs about possibilities and inner/outer growth. It pushes for personal, intellectual, and spiritual growth. Mars square Saturn (limitation, karma) gives the desire for achievement and success, but it slows progress and causes stress. The aspect encourages slow and steady progress—think of taking small steps on a long hike to the apex of a mountain. Mars trine Neptune (mysticism, illusion) increases intuition, sensitivity, and the ability to listen to the inner self. It gives greater awareness of the inner flow of life—and the importance of tapping into inner self. Mars sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) increases the desire for achievement. It gives endurance, stamina, and strength.

Jupiter (expansion, growth) in Taurus expands everything with its abundant energy, particularly finances and matters pertaining to the earth. It may be wise to flip it around by seeing the earth with less pollution, a better climate, and positive finances—at least in our personal world—and perhaps the outer world. Jupiter square Pluto (subconscious, transformation) brings a significant period of growth by facing insecurities and anxiety to become stronger. It pushes us to succeed, overcome personal limitations, and develop greater self-confidence.

Saturn (limitation, karma) is direct, returning to its previous position in Pisces, the ruler of the past Age. In this position, it reflects the wisdom and mistakes of the Piscean time, and it connects us deeply on a subconscious, emotional level.

Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) is retrograde in Taurus, which pertains to the earth. Retrograde Uranus can feel like a roller coaster with emotions running high and low. However, if we can change the emotions, stabilize thoughts, and connect with the universe, the vacillation stops. Uranus trine Neptune (mysticism, illusion) increases our interest in spirituality, philosophy, and mysticism. It can connect us to people with similar interests. Uranus sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) causes life to feel deeper and more meaningful, and it encourages discovering and following the inner self.

Neptune (mysticism, illusion) in Pisces strengthens the emotional bond between everyone. It can be experienced as the horror of the news and movies—or a beautiful sea of love. It’s about the emotion most experienced by collective consciousness. Of course, we can choose to detach and work with our spiritual connection. Neptune sextile Pluto (underworld, transformation) speaks of studies involving creativity, imagination, and a sense of spirituality.

Pluto is direct in Capricorn, presenting the last review of events between 2020-2022. In 2024, it will move into Aquarius, which is an easier placement.
