A partial solar eclipse accompanies the New Moon on Saturday, April 30. Eclipses, which occur when the moon passes between the sun and earth, temporarily blocks the light of the Sun. Eclipses tend to stir energy and bring the unexpected, particularly when Sun/Moon conjunct Uranus, the planet of sudden change/quantum field

Eclipses tend to mark a period of change--and often feel intense. However, the eclipse falls near the North Node (higher group consciousness), indicating the importance of reflecting on our inherent ability to create beauty, stability, and abundance in life. It offers a time to step into our inner power and alter our lives.

Many of the planets in the forecast are placed in water (emotion) and earth (grounding). Earth signs help in gaining physical strength, determination, and persistence. In alchemy, water rules emotions, which can feel like waves. By concentrating on the path of the heart, we can learn to regulate and balance emotion.

Sun (life, light) and Moon (emotion) are placed in Taurus, an earth sign exemplifying abundance, vitality, practicality, and physical power. Ruled by Venus, Taurus also relates to abundance and love for the earth. Sun and Moon sextile Mars (assertion, action), which gives courage, self-confidence, and self-esteem. These qualities are helpful in following the spiritual quest and success in life.

Sun and Moon are conjunct Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), which can give brilliant, unexpected insights—or cause instability, erratic emotions, and issues with electronics. (Conjunctions with Uranus can enlighten consciousness if focus is correctly placed.)

The instability of the conjunction and eclipse is balanced by beautiful aspects between Venus (love, relationships) conjunct Jupiter (good fortune/expansion), and Neptune (illusion, mysticism). All three planets are in Pisces, a water sign, which indicates the importance of surrender to the mystic—the place of inner connection with the divine plan. The conjunctions also underscore the importance of unconditional love, compassion, and the presence of the Divine Mind.

Mercury (mind, communications, electronics) is placed in Gemini, an air sign. The mind moves quickly and fluidly when Mercury is placed in air. Gemini rules versatility, social encounters, and communications. Mercury sextile Venus (beauty, art, love) heightens beauty and harmony in the home, person, and life. Mercury sextile Mars (assertion, action) speeds the mind, giving courage and force with achieving desires.

Mercury square Saturn (karma, limitation) indicates the need to find solutions to old problems and past issues. Through flexibility of the mind, it’s possible to discover new answers and/or ways to move through old issues. Mercury trine Pluto (subconscious, transformation) strengthens the mind, concentration, and focus. It can help with achieving success through communication of deeper thoughts and ideas.

Mars (action, assertion) in Pisces is emotional and sensitive, increasing the possibility of overreaction. Emotion can block or interfere with right action. Mars sextile Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) increases the desire for change and the need to experience life from a new perspective. It can aid with concentration with projects and help in advancing ideas in a new way.

Jupiter (good fortune/expansion) conjuncts Neptune (illusion, mysticism), an aspect that can feel uplifting—and lead to greater spiritual connection. Jupiter sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) gives success through positive change. Think of it as recognition of long-term spiritual work and efforts in business and life.

Neptune (illusion, mysticism) sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) draws our consciousness into the spiritual world, enlarging the creative and artistic processes. It’s possible to more easily deepen our spiritual connection with this influence.
