New Moon Forecast

The astrological forecast is much like the weather, moving between gray, stormy days and springlike weather with streaming sunlight. The New Moon forecast resembles a cloudy day with flashes of bright light.  (It may be overcast, but the sun sends reminders of its light.)

The New Moon appears on Friday, December 7.  The overall chart is weighted by water (emotion) and fire (passion) Our power comes from aligning emotion and passion in a positive sense and using the power of the chart to create positive outcomes and our heart-felt desires.  It can feel daunting when experiencing pressure from squares (tension) with Mars (action) and Neptune (mysticism/illusion and sometimes confusion). It’s possible to do this by staying focused through positive emotions like gratitude and using passion to connect with the Divine.

Fortunately, help is found within the chart. Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Jupiter (good fortune) are conjunct in Sagittarius, which often brings help and angelic support at the eleventh hour. The conjunctions, which are close placements between planets that heighten their impact, can bring expansion and hope. Sagittarius rules philosophy and long journeys; its key words are “I see”. By aligning with the inner self, we can raise our “vision” above the fray and find solutions through the higher mind.

On the more difficult side of the equation, Sun and Moon square (creating tension) Mars, and this affects our ability to make decisions and move forward in life. (It doesn’t mean we can’t move ahead. It’s simply more difficult than usual.) Sun and Moon also square Neptune in Pisces, which results in many different –sometimes conflicting — feelings and sensations. On the positive, all of the planets are direct with the exception of Uranus

Mercury (communication, thought) is direct at last in Scorpio with the retrograde leaving chaotic energy in its wake.  However, Mercury is well placed with a conjunction with Jupiter, aligning the mind with higher thought and ideas to expand our lives. Mercury also trines (positive, harmonious) Chiron (wounded healer), allowing us to heal on a deeper level through properly connected thought. (For example, we might encounter a challenge but decide an answer is a true possibility. At this point, our mind aligns with the universal mind, and this creates a different outcome.)

Both Venus (love, partnerships) and Mercury are in Scorpio, indicating the importance of seeing beneath the surface in all aspects of life. (These placements have continued for months, asking for alignment of the heart and mind.) The energy is passionate, and this encourages action and/or a change in perception. But the mind and heart have to come together to find the secret information hidden beneath the surface.

Venus (relationships, love) in Scorpio can be jealous and selfish; it can also penetrate into secrets, beliefs, and attitudes for transformation into a higher form. When the planets are uneasy, it’s about learning more about ourselves and finding a deeper state of love, which is sometimes challenging. Venus remains in opposition to Uranus, and this amplifies our feelings about love, freedom, and can also cause sudden change. (Wait until this aspect passes in a month or so to make big changes in relationships. It’s very easy to misunderstand at this point.)

Mars (action, male energy) sits in Pisces, which activates old patterns of resentment, hidden feelings, and strong emotions. Mars in Pisces, a water sign, elicits emotion. Mars squares Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), meaning that it’s difficult to discern the right action for growth. Mars conjuncts Neptune, heightening the fluctuation and waves of emotions and feelings. (Neptune’s involvement in this chart can heighten our intuition.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Sagittarius squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism), asking us to combine a desire to move with our quest while pondering the unseen in our personal universe. Neptune gives a “foggy” feeling, making it necessary to listen to our heart before moving in new directions.

Saturn (karma, discipline) remains in Capricorn (as it will for the next 2 years), and it gives a harsh, cold feeling along with the need to succeed in the outer world. We see it in egoic nature of many industrialists in the outer world, but Saturn always wants us to learn true spiritual lessons and convey those as our work in the world.

Uranus (New Age, quantum field) returned to Aries, the male beginning of a new cosmic cycle. Uranus squares Pluto in Capricorn as it has for the past few years. It asks for looking at the subterranean   river of personal and global psyches while remaining willing to transmute the flux into a new form. (Uranus offers the quantum field for transformation; Pluto asks us to travel deep into the darkness and find the answers there.) It’s illuminating to see the truth, but it’s not usually easy. (Uranus is in retrograde, which occasionally makes life feel like a roller coaster with sudden, erratic change.)

Sabian Symbols, based on the work of Lynda Hill

Sun and Moon are on Sagittarius 16, “Sea Gulls Fly Around a Ship Looking for Food.” The symbol speaks of seagulls feeding on fish from a ship. It hints of dependence or co-dependence. In the spiritual quest, we try to help others by connecting them to the wisdom of the inner self—not through dependence. As we walk on our path, it becomes important to separate from those who lean on our energy and refuse to grow—or to observe the relationship at the least.

Mercury sits on Scorpio 28

Venus is placed on Scorpio 2, “A Broken Bottle and Spilled Perfume” could refer to lost loves in the past or situations that closed the heart. We can smell the fragrance, but the vessel is no longer there. (Perfume also stirs olfactory memories from the past. Fortunately, we can recall the energy from the past into the moment.)

Mars is on Pisces 13, “The King of Fairies Approaching His Domain”. It’s a wonderful symbol, speaking of power in the unseen world. Mars conjuncts Neptune in this chart so it may be possible to summon up the beautiful energies of hidden worlds.

Jupiter sits on Sagittarius 7, “Cupid Knocking on the Human Heart.” Obviously, it’s about overcoming pain and hurt from the past so we can open to love. Love comes from the universe on an unconditional basis if we open to receive. As part of this process, new people arrive in our lives to share love, and/or old relationships are rekindled in a new way.

Mastering Fear

Alchemy states that mastery occurs through the emotions. BKS Inyengar said, “To master fear is the important battle to win.” Ultimately, we must master fear to create a life on a higher level. There are actually good reasons for feeling fear. We often feel fear when we act on the heart because the world teaches us to go in the opposite direction (away from the inner self. The outer world of duality resists the motion of wholeness associated with finding the inner self.

Yet, nothing is as fulfilling as connecting with the inner self, and life changes when we live from the heart. We learn to identify the energy associated with our soul. We gain awareness of energy as a whole and learn how it resonates with us. We learn how to create our inner desires, find our gifts, and share them with others.

1) When we step into the light, it involves a leap.  Fear can feel very real when the universe calls. It means letting go of our current life and believing whatever appears will work. It’s not easy, and the ego often feels resistance (or fear) about taking a big leap. It’s normal to feel afraid, uneasy, or agitated before taking a step, and we have to trust the universe. (The universe always has a bigger, better plan. Visualize each step and the desirable outcome.)

2)  The outer world does not encourage the huge wave of awakening. When we expand into our inner self, we can receive a wave of fear from mass consciousness (the lower emotions of the world at large.) If we focus on the inner self as often as possible, we will find a way to move through the resistance. (It’s not easy, but you can move through it by using your will and determination.)

3)  It’s easier to feel fear about our destiny than it is to take a step. (The same is true about improving an aspect of our lives. We often have resistance about creating a better life.) “Destiny’, which is simply the soul’s path—the universe’s way of choosing experiences of teaching us to move into a higher place of being. It’s easiest to begin with a desire of the heart. Learn how to use tools such as visualization, positive thoughts, and the power of love.  Study angels, read books, and practice changing how you see your life. (There is a great network of “love”, which will support you.)

4)  The pressure and feeling of fear will lessen when you decide to move in the direction of the soul. The pressure lessens as you listen and commit to your inner self.

5) Moving into awakening can bring feelings of uncertainty to the surface. While we may feel unhappy in our experience of “reality”, relinquishing control can feel difficult. We have expectations of how life should look and feel. It means we have work to develop hidden aspects of ourselves and look at the parts of us, which are involved in our patterns. Control comes from the ego. Allow your “reality” to rearrange itself in a new manner.

6) When we step into heightened intuition, it can take time to distinguish between the soul and ego—and to have a consistent feeling of direction. (This can feel frightening.) The inner self asks us to listen with the heart. It means following intuition or inner guidance as opposed to the voice of the outer world. This may feel strange or uncomfortable in the beginning. Often, the directions don’t make sense. Over time, we learn to trust the inner voice and distinguish feelings and direction.

NOTE:

After every leap, we trust our inner voice more. But it’s only in the area of the jump. There’s still more ground to cover.  We often feel the resistance of the lower self and the world, but it passes. Part of this is learning to believe in the inner self, the true part of the self. (We also have to believe in the universe’s ability to support us—or faith.) Over time, these changes lead us into love and connection.

Finding Gratitude

The concept of gratitude emerged around a decade ago. Introduced by Stacey Robyn (Go Gratitude), Ester and Jerry Hicks, and discussed in the movie, The Secret, it was touted as a system of creating more good in life. Obviously, gratitude is important, but it’s like so many things–a practice to reap “good” or abundance doesn’t work. (Initially, I remember spending an hour looking around the room while notating items for the expression of gratitude.)

There’s an easier and better method of practicing gratitude. Once you find the missing piece, the practice becomes easy and rewarding. It does reap benefits, but you tend not to care.

Easy Steps For Feeling More Gratitude

1) Nothing truly works without spiritual connection. Connection is the point. Start with meditation, and see where your consciousness moves. Notice how life feels lighter, and everything responds to your deepened state of being. Noticing and observing invoke a state of gratitude.

2) While connected, notice the motion of your consciousness. When you are connected outdoors, you hear the wind more succinctly. You notice the movement of the trees. You hear the birds. You feel the blessing of life. When you are indoors, you may feel the quietness and calm of your meditation. Notice the direction of your senses and the more pleasing objects in the room. (These are blessings. Give thanks.)

3) When you feel strong, happy, or loved, expand the feeling. Imagine more of the feeling, which amplifies the vibration. Amplifying the vibration leads to expansion in life. Expansion and connection are interrelated.

4) When life is moving well, comment to yourself about the feeling of your life. Notice your practices and note your connection. Part of gratitude is simply noticing your blessings.

5) When your efforts make a positive difference, thank the universe. You experience the “good” as part of your connection with the Divine. The same is true with the higher aspects of the self.

6) When you are in a higher state, you naturally notice the good in life. The movement of the mind into the flow of goodness marks a higher state of consciousness. Pay attention. When your attention rests on the good in life, this is a state of gratitude. (Your inner dialog is a good indication of your state of mind.)

Using Gratitude with Problems

It’s the opposite of the practice listed above. The idea is not to notice good things; it’s about changing your focus when you think about problems. Everyone thinks about problems with negative thoughts and emotions—even positive people do this.

Problems are simply where we need more energy or a different type of energy. Energy can include a change in physical routine, a new belief, feeling, or changing the lens of your focus.

  • Remember, you are a creator. You can change your reality by altering your vision and perception of life. You may not know how to do it, but you have the capacity. At least, you can create change. You can feel grateful about your capacity to alter your life, and take a minute or two to see or feel it differently.
  • When you think life is not going well, notice what is okay or bearable. Put your attention on what’s working. Maybe, you don’t have time to do all of your work. But you can do some of it. Notice what you have completed and bless it—or give thanks. In this way, you amplify the good. (When you can’t figure out the next step, visualize it and give thanks for your inner ability.)
  • When you argue with people, remember you have the ability to send light, calm your feelings, or come up with another solution. You can move back into your self-worth and remember what you like about yourself. (If you can, recall what you do like about the other person.) Love is a very special quality of the universe, which changes much of life. When you move back into a state of love, life alters. Thank the universe for the opportunity.
  • If you’ve practiced spiritual work, you know how to center. Everything changes when you center your attention on the presence of your inner self. You will feel grateful without any effort when you achieve it.
  • When you have a difficult day, think about the days that go well. (You’re actually giving gratitude for those times while pushing your energy in the direction of positivity.) Whenever you feel overwhelmed by a problem, notice what isn’t wrong. (If the cake falls, I can make another one or buy one—at least. Maybe, I have to take the animals to the vet, but it’s for a check-up, and nothing’s wrong.) You’re diverting your attention from the problem into the goodness of the moment. It works.

One of the greatest gifts of all is our ability to change our consciousness through connection. It’s a great blessing!

Full Moon Forecast

The Full Moon appears on Fri, Nov 23 at a few minutes after midnight, but we’ll feel the pull of the moon throughout the holiday.  It’s not the best full moon for Thanksgiving with energy running high and wild with Mercury in retrograde, but there are methods for dealing with the zaniness (and tips at the end of the blog post.) Also, we know this a time when it’s important to live, speak, and talk differently by using the insights of the higher self, and this is a good time for practice.

It begins quite seriously with Sun (life, self), Mercury (communications), and Jupiter (good fortune) placed in Sagittarius, the sign ruling philosophy, long journeys, and study of the soul. But the Moon is in garrulous Gemini, an air sign that wants to talk, socialize, and perhaps say and buy too much. (Mercury is ruled by air, and it is poorly placed in Sagittarius, making the position of the moon more important than usual.) Mercury (communications, higher mind) should act in cerebral way, but it wants to visit, talk, and buy lots of things while in a disconnected state. The Moon (emotions) opposes Mercury (communications) and Jupiter (good fortune), which means our emotional nature is out of sync with communication and expansion. (Whenever possible, think or transmit peace and love.)

Think of a hippie dropping into a formal dinner party and dominating the conversation by sharing his or her travels over the past six months. Of course, that’s an extreme description. Nevertheless, it’s wise to decide to take a different view on the holidays. Release the memories of past gatherings, and use it as a time to use the skills of the inner self. (Prepare to listen to others, refrain from disagreements, stay quiet, and try your best to the underlying good in everyone. After all, that’s what spiritual work teaches us.)

Along with these odd placements, Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter square Mars (action). Squares cause tension and pressure, and Mars is action. These aspects make it more difficult to complete actions, follow through with tasks, and stay focused – particularly when traveling, utilizing electronics, or communicating. Tiredness and/or frustration may follow the completion of tasks, or it may seem to take longer than usual. (It doesn’t mean we can’t do these things; it simply requires more effort and focus.)

Venus (love, beauty, relationships) is softer in Libra than in Scorpio, which created much tension in love relationships in the past few months. But Venus opposes Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), and this makes people act strangely or in unexpected ways around loving relationships. Venus also squares Pluto (underworld, transformation), bringing compulsive behavior and patterns to the surface. We’re continuing to experience insights into our behavior and emotions around love. The unexpected feelings and actions reveal where we’re not in alignment, and compulsive feelings/behavior indicate karmic and/or unresolved patterns.

Mars (action) forms lovely sextiles (mildly positive energy) with Saturn (karma, discipline) and Uranus (quantum field, sudden change), which can open our hearts and minds to inspiration and devoted action. Mars also conjuncts Neptune (mysticism, illusion), and this can meaningful insights and the power to create effective change. Mars conjunct Neptune tends to give the power to bring a dream into form. In particular – the types of dreams that held in the heart.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) is placed in Sagittarius, which will eventually help in lifting our spirits and guiding us in the direction of our dreams. The past is repeating as Uranus (sudden change) moved back into Aries, and it squares Pluto (again). Chiron (wounded healer) moved back into Pisces so we’re dealing with issues from the past.

Sun (life) and Jupiter (expansion) trine Chiron (wounded healer), indicating that seeking healing can change our lives and bring good fortune. Saturn (limitation) squares Chiron, asking for us to let go of our perception of the past.

Notes:

  1. Astrology explains the feelings and tendencies of the current energies, but it doesn’t always tell you how to move through them. Visualization and meditation are helpful when the energies are a bit wild. This practice connects you to higher energies, which can overcome turbulence and lower energies from others.
  2. The Moon and Mercury (emotions and thought) are in opposition. It’s important to listen more than we talk. It’s probably not wise to buy anything online (unless you planned to buy it for months. The best time for shopping is after Dec. 6)  It’s helpful to visualize travel plans between Thursday and Monday. Communications have a tendency for misunderstanding. Think before you speak.
  3. Venus asks for a closer look at love. It’s not easy, but we can’t move into a higher dimension without understanding our feelings and patterns. Perception is part of transcending any problem.
  4. Squares with Mars will make action more difficult and tiring than usual. (Plan to rest.)   There is a boon with Mars; its conjunction with Neptune helps in creating plans to reach a long cherished dream.
  5. It’s a fabulous time to practice what you know about your inner self – and radiate light and peace. (The world needs you!)

Have Hope

By Danielle La Porte via Indigenous Grandmother, Mary Standing Otter

I love these lovely thoughts expressed by Mary Standing Otter. Sometimes I forget about how many other people are praying, hoping, and spending their life energies to alleviate suffering. The world becomes better when we see its beauty and goodness; it’s how energy works.

Right now there are Tibetan Buddhist monks in a temple in the Himalayas endlessly reciting mantras for the cessation of your suffering and for the flourishing of your happiness.

Someone you haven’t met yet is already dreaming of adoring you.

Someone is writing a book that you will read in the next two years that will change how you look at life.

Nuns in the Alps are in endless vigil, praying for the Holy Spirit to alight the hearts of all of God’s children.

A farmer is looking at his organic crops and whispering, “nourish them.”

Someone wants to kiss you, to hold you, to make tea for you.

Someone is willing to lend you money, wants to know what your favorite food is, and treat you to a movie.
Someone in your orbit has something immensely valuable to give you — for free.

Something is being invented this year that will change how your generation lives, communicates, heals and passes on.

The next great song is being rehearsed.

Thousands of people are in yoga classes right now intentionally sending light out from their heart chakras and wrapping it around the earth.

Millions of children are assuming that everything is amazing and will always be that way.

Someone is in profound pain, and a few months from now, they’ll be thriving like never before. From where they are, they just can’t see it .

Someone who is craving to be partnered, to be acknowledged, to arrive, will get precisely what they want — and even more. And because that gift will be so fantastical in it’s reach and sweetness, it will quite magically alter their memory of angsty longing and render it all “So worth the wait.”

Someone has recently cracked open their joyous, genuine nature because they did the hard work of hauling years of oppression off of their psyche — this luminous juju is floating in the ether, and is accessible to you.

Someone just this second wished for world peace, in earnest.

Some civil servant is making sure that you get your mail, and your garbage is picked up, that the trains are running on time, and that you are generally safe.

Someone is dedicating their days to protecting your civil liberties and clean drinking water.

Someone is regaining their sanity.
Someone is coming back from the dead.
Someone is genuinely forgiving the seemingly unforgivable.
Someone is curing the incurable.

You. Me. Some. One. Now.

Making Manifestation Work for You!

Manifestation is one of the most incredible tools for creating harmony and happiness. The visualization of the heart’s desire activates a special part of a consciousness, which encourages a positive flow of life. (In general, intuition grows, positive feedback from others ensues, and small miracles occur on the journey to the realization of a“wish”.)

It’s a mystery, but manifestation enlarges the “creator” part of human consciousness, which doesn’t occur during meditation. (Meditation bestows connection with the inner self and the universe at large, but it doesn’t engage the creative process with the inner self.)  “Creation” through visualization and small, physical steps may be part of our next evolutionary step. After all, it is important to listen to our heart and follow its path by creating in the inner/outer world.

  1. Creating a happy, positive reality is part of soul work. It actually aligns you with the universe, awakening hidden abilities and revealing unusual and/or unexpected answers. Generally, it reveals a non-logical but fulfilling path.
  2. Positive manifestation is how you connect to higher consciousness including light, love, and higher realizations. It’s also a way of letting go of who you are not and learning to love who you truly are. (Everyone is already manifesting. A conscious practice is about creating what you want.)
  3. With every manifestation, there is a block or resistance within the self. Let’s call it a mistake in perception, which is corrected by inner work. (It’s obvious how other people block themselves; the challenge lies with seeing the self.) Yes, there is a part of you that blocks the manifestation. (Everyone blocks goodness, abundance, and love. It’s part of what manifestation sets free.)
  4. Manifestation can occur in a few seconds or a few years. It has to do with your evolutionary path, practice, persistence, and other factors such as the people in your life, etc. (On this topic, no one ever regrets the work when the manifestation occurs.) Higher vibrations and positive emotions/thoughts encourage it.
  5. Often, intuition develops sharply as a result of manifestation work. Your gifts may become apparent, and new people often come into your life as a result of inner growth. It’s important to continue your work at this point. (These positive results are known as “rainbows” on the path. They are an indication of positive inner work, but your job is remaining devoted to the next step on the path.)

NOTE:  As you master manifestation, it becomes easy to repeat the steps for yourself, others, and the world. It may be part of how you and the world become conscious together. (Think of 1,000 people with accurate manifestation skills who can see and create wonderful outcomes for the world.)

Tips  on Visualization

  1. Visualization is the first step for manifestation. Make a laser sharp image and focus all of your consciousness on it for 10-15 minutes daily. Imagine living in the image by seeing it as a particular time of day, and you’re “living” in the image for 10 minutes or so.. Notice who accompanies you in the imagery and the passage of events in your life. Accompany the imagery with a positive, happy feeling.
  2. Substitute your imagery for lower feelings. For example, if you’re meditating on money, but bills come in the mail, return the image and make it “real”. It can take many repetitions because your negative feelings and experience may seem more real in the beginning.
  3. It can take a few weeks to master the feeling of the manifestation. For example, if you’re visualizing success, it’s working when you feel more confident. If you’re looking for a better body image, it’s creating a change when you feel better about how you look. (Physical changes follow inner projections, but they often begin with emotional and/or mental shifts.)
  4. You should become more aware of the inner self through your manifestation work. You may hear your inner voice or become more aware of when you’re connected or disconnected. You may also notice that life flows in a specific way with a mood change or a difference in your flow of energy.
  5. You will wonder if it’s working—or when it will work. It’s helpful to tell yourself that it will occur when you’re aligned. (It is happening, but it takes time for energy to translate from the invisible to the visible world.)  From this perspective, try to create positive, small changes in your daily routine and ask how you can become more flexible, compassionate, and loving. (The universe loves this.)

Raising Consciousness to a Higher Level

Raising your consciousness can help as the planetary weather draws attention to aspects of life, which require our attention and/or a change in perspective. Problems and issues occur on a lower wave of consciousness—a lower vibration. When you raise your consciousness, you can see them from a different perspective.

It’s important because you tend to see yourself as “wrong” when correcting or examining an issue. Although the solutions are not always easy, we can find the strength to see life differently, take the next step, or calm our emotions. (Many of us are clearing patterns from past lifetimes. It’s hard work, and it takes energy.)

When you want to raise your consciousness, it’s fairly simple. It may take several repetitions for a day or two, but it’s doable. Choose from the exercises to discover what works best for you.

1) Focus on the heart chakra where emotions are balanced. There is no motion—only unconditional love. You can see pink or emerald green light in heart space or middle of the chest (and emanate it into the space around you.) Simply thinking about the heart chakra takes you into a softer, quieter place. The heart is the center of your chakra system. This exercise balances the energy of the lower and upper chakras.

2) All problems relate to some form of fear. (We all have it although I think humanity is moving out of it.) Imagine the energy of your problem and send love to it. Love diminishes fear, and it will alter your consciousness temporarily. After all, the issue is “up” for examination, clearing, and healing. You’ll feel freer without it.

3) Emotions do not always emanate from you. If you briefly feel sad, angry, or another strong emotion–and the emotion grows stronger–it is probably not your emotion. You can ask for a higher level of consciousness and to disconnect from mass consciousness. (It often requires several “takes” for this to work.) When your emotions clear, take a few minutes to visualize your desired future. This practice brings in more love and courage as well as a higher vibration.

4) Call on the angels or write an angel letter. Angels wait for your call. You can ask for angels to surround you with feelings of peace, bliss, happiness, or understanding. You can also ask for their help with a problem. (I’ve found it’s best to ask for their help to come softly, gently, and joyously to avoid abrupt changes in my life. The gentle changes feel nicer.)

5) Nature wants to help with your healing process. Energy collects in body as a result of spiritual, emotional, or mental tension. You can sit outdoors and ask for energy to heal your body or clear the mind. Walking in nature quiets the soul. The colors, shapes, and patterns are perfect for the body. You’ve walked enough when the mind becomes quiet without interruptions from thoughts. These techniques are particularly helpful when you ask for the healing presence of nature.

These practices often lead to non-ordinary solutions, realizations, and intuitions.

New Moon Forecast

The New Moon marks the time of the void when it’s wise to rest and contemplate life for a day or two while we think about our dreams and plans. (Absolutely, nothing grows in the garden on the new moon; it takes time for the energy to rise.) The New Moon energy is a time of deep stillness before the life force flows into form as the moon waxes.

The New Moon appears at 11:01 am on Wednesday, November 7. This chart speaks to our inner self and encourages pursuit of the spiritual quest. However, there are many confusing aspects that slow action, perception, and progress. Sun and Moon (life, feelings, and emotions) push us in the direction of our dreams, but they square Mars (male, action), which confuses and slows action. Venus remains retrograde, and Mercury is already in the shadow of its next retrograde, which occurs on the day of Venus moving direct. Venus also squares the North and South Nodes.

Sun and Moon in Scorpio form a beautiful trine with Neptune (mysticism/illusion), which heightens our ability to feel and perceive our spiritual direction. It increases our sensitivity to beauty and intensifies our night dreams. This aspect heightens intuition, helps with the flow of emotions, and makes it easier to see behind the “veil”. It also makes it easier to hear to our inner voice, which is needed to travel successfully through the next week or so.  (If we use the energy, it’s helpful with art and creative endeavors.) Obviously, it softens the square with Mars.

Mercury (communications) is moving into expansive Sagittarius, a fire sign, before moving into retrograde on November 16. The current placement helps with spiritual pursuits and attaining higher knowledge. It can aid with focus with our higher dreams. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), and acts as an indication that right thoughts can lead us forward. But Mercury squares Neptune (illusion, mysticism), confusing our ability to discern illusion from truth.

Venus (feminine, beauty) sits in Libra, an air sign ruling balance and harmony. Venus is softer and gentle in this position, but it can bring difficulty with expressing our personal truth, which has been a challenge with the continuing retrograde. (It makes difficult for people that we love to hear us during Venus retrograde, and communication can feel confusing. We also continue to review how we want to feel and receive love for another week until Venus moves direct.)

Venus trines (harmonious) Mars (male, action), which eases the relationship between male/female and yin/yang. Venus opposes Uranus, causing friction between love (in some form) and erratic action. (Uranus can also represent awakening so it’s possible to see a bigger view of life.) Venus squares (tension) Pluto, which often represents obsession, power, or strong desires, and this brings a bigger lesson to light. It’s important to train our minds to release control, and let the universe teach us to grasp the beauty of surrender and the blessings that can follow.

Venus squares the nodes of the Moon. The North Node, representing our spiritual direction, is in Cancer, a water sign ruling nurturing, devotion, and sensitivity. Venus symbolizes love, and a square places pressure. We’re asked to become more compassionate and caring to create happiness and security in life. (In some way, we have obstacles between our definition of love and caring without controlling.) South Node speaks of habits and rituals used in the past, which are no longer as useful. It’s placed in Capricorn, an earth sign, which is about practicality and our place in the world.

Mars (action, male) squares Jupiter (expansion, good fortune), and this creates tension between our desire to take action and the benevolent expression of Jupiter, which expands the good around our endeavors. (Sun/Moon square Mars frustrates our desire and plans for action.) Our positive actions always count – even when we can’t see it – and it’s important to continue taking small steps for another time in the not too distant future when Jupiter will bless our efforts.

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) will move into Sagittarius on November 9, which helps with our spiritual quest, accelerating our ability to focus on the path. Spiritual studies, freedom with communications, and creating ease with travel. On the other side, Jupiter in Sagittarius expands the object in the lens of the mind, which can create greater tension with divisive groups or bring unity. (It’s dependent on the focus of our minds and hearts.)

Saturn (karma, time) trines (harmonious) Uranus, which represents the New Age, innovative inventions, and methods of thinking in an original way. (Using our imagination is one of the best ways of harnessing this energy.)

Uranus, the planet of change and awakening, moves back to the past with a reentry to Aries, a fire sign. Uranus is volatile in fire, with focus on the self. We’ll probably feel the wacky energy of the past seven years with the (brief return) of this cycle.

Neptune (mysticism, illusion) flows in waves of spiritual love with this aspect. It helps in transcending the limitations of the physical world through increased emotional connection in deep or loving relationships.

Chiron, the wounded healer, moved back into Pisces, bringing back the wounds and karma of the Piscean Age. It’s another opportunity to move beyond old stories, patterns, and habits before moving into another year. Mercury (communications) and Jupiter (good fortune) trine Chiron, and this helps in making positive mental realizations about the past – and our involvement with it. Saturn (limitation) squares Chiron, meaning we may only see the blocks but not move through them (yet).

Tips:

  1. Finding, following, and listening to our inner self is the test of this chart. There are many energies, which move in numerous directions, and we simply want to move in the direction of the light. (Sun/Moon trine Neptune helps with this.)
  2. Communications are not clear. Mercury (communications, messages) squares Neptune (mysticism/illusion), making it difficult to read and interpret the information that we receive. (Listen with the heart.) Mercury moves retrograde next week.
  3. Venus is all over the place; it trines Mars (action), opposes Uranus (sudden change, awakening), and squares the Nodes (higher purpose and rituals depended upon on the past.) In other words, our thoughts and feelings about love will probably oscillate. On the positive, Venus moves direct in another week!
  4. Mars, the action planet, has squares with Sun/Moon and Jupiter. Try to remember that spiritual actions always count. Sometimes, we have to wait for the right “weather” or pass through the test of time, but they count.
  5. Jupiter will soon move into Sagittarius, which should lighten life a bit – at least.

Sabian Symbols, based on Lynda Hill’s work

Sun and Moon are on Scorpio 16, “A Girl’s Face Breaking into a Smile.” The image denotes joy, which can come from pleasant and familiar aspects of life, an unexpected surprise and/or love. A girl smiling indicates pleasure and conveys light. It’s particularly apt when considering Sun/Moon’s benevolent trine with Neptune (illusion, mysticism), which aids in aligning with universal wisdom and love.

Mercury is on Sagittarius 9, “A Mother Leads a Small Child Step by Step up the Stairs.” The image depicts a loving, maternal presence that supports and protects a child moving to a higher level in a building or home. Mercury can represent the higher or lower mind. The symbol could speak of the higher mind leading the more undeveloped parts of the self to higher level.

Venus is retrograde on Libra 27, An Airplane Flies High in the Bright Sky.” It’s possible to fly above our difficulties through a state of unconditional love. It’s also possible to evade the issues in our life by avoiding or sailing above them.

Mars sits on Aquarius 28, “A Garage Man Testing a Car Battery with a Hydrometer.” A hydrometer reads the level of fluids (emotion), and cars can represent how we travel through life. Batteries refer to the distribution of energy. Since this symbol refers to Mars, it indicates the necessity of looking at our movement through life, our emotions, and placement of energy to move to the next level or take the next step.

Jupiter is placed on Scorpio 30, “Children in Halloween Costumes Indulging in Pranks”. The symbol can refer to the happiness of children when we move through special times in the world as well as those who use these times for darkness and negativity.
