Easter comes on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the equinox, and the full moon is on April 16. It’s a special moon with beautiful and challenging aspects—much like life. It’s up to us to balance duality wisely while following the quest of seeking the inner self.

Spring incites new beginnings as does Sun in the sign of Aries. It’s the beginning of the astrological wheel, symbolizing the power to make changes, new patterns in life, and alter the physical with the use of light. Sun (life, light) in Aries can attract and shape change–particularly the motion into the spiritual nature.

Moon (emotions) in Libra brings beauty to the awakening of spring life. Ruled by Venus, it can create balance, harmony, and alignment. When moon gardening (planting with the phases of the moon and the astrological signs), seeds planted on the Libra Moon grow beautiful and luxurious flowers.

The challenge lies with the T-square between Sun (life), Moon (emotions), and Pluto (subconscious, transformation). Squares cause pressure and tension, which may reveal control issues–or the need for inner growth and new forms of action and communication. It may make life seem temporarily heavy or frustrating.

Moon (emotion) trines Mars (assertion), increasing expression of creativity. It gives courage and boldness. and expression. Moon trines Saturn, brings structure, practicality, and patience to the expression of ideas and desires.

Mercury (thought, communications) in Taurus aligns the body and soul with the earth, her currents, rhythms, and loveliness. In this placement, Mercury tends to think about practical matters such as putting desires into physical form and creating the right actions to achieve fulfillment. Mercury rules communications, so it gives a
balanced way of speaking and thinking about our dreams-and our spiritual life. (Tapping into the frequency of abundance is a spiritual gift, and Mercury in Taurus urges reflection on the relationship between abundance and spirituality-as well as practical thoughts. Mercury conjuncts Uranus, indicating the possibility of merging the higher and lower mind to receive gestalt breakthroughs or deeper understanding of the New Age.

Venus (love, beauty) is exalted in Pisces, increasing cosmic connection and compassion. It offers a higher form of love where we may connect in the “sea” of love. (Higher consciousness is the place of greater connection and love; the feeling is found from this place of being.) Venus sextiles Uranus, increasing the desire for social encounters and opens the heart to change. (As a person with influence from Uranus in their chart, it’s useful to know that the planet can create a “flip”, lifting us from a low point into cosmic understanding if we focus correctly.)

Mars is in Pisces, a water sign, which blends emotions and the desire for action. It can feel confusing because emotion is intensified—and sometimes we see life from the viewpoint of duality. Mars in Pisces has difficulty with assertion, which may cause “floating” emotionally without taking action. Pisces is associated with past and past lives, so it’s important to stay in the moment and to examine our motives for action.)

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is placed in Pisces, and conjunct Neptune (mysticism, idealism). The aspect can open us to spiritual transformation, increase intuition, and lift the veil of perception. However, spiritual information and transformation tend to accompany inner work. (It’s necessary to meditate and focus to receive its remarkable benefit.) Jupiter sextile Pluto (subconscious, transformation) brings success through positive change and efforts.

Saturn (limitation, karma) is in Aquarius and squares Uranus (new age, sudden change) in Taurus, indicating the many shifts of this time. It involves electronics (Aquarius), social change and structures, and our perception and projections of the present and future.

Neptune (mysticism, idealism) in Pisces sextile Pluto increases our desire for spiritual growth, teachers, and greater understanding of the mystical world.

Tips

  • Inner work—such as meditation or working to stay in the heart space—is necessary to overcome the pressure of the T-square and move into the more uplifting, spiritual aspects of the chart. It helps to ask for awakening or expansion of spiritual gifts.
  • T-square exerts pressure, giving the feeling that it’s important to complete tasks or move in a specific direction. But the opportunity lies in becoming more conscious of ego-patterns and finding greater independence, which comes from the inner self.
  • There’s a strong influence of water or emotion throughout the chart. In metaphysics, understanding emotion is part of mastery. We must move through the fabric of past lives, childhood events, and limitations to flow into the love, harmony, and spiritual essence of the positive aspects of the chart.
  • Mercury in Taurus focuses on the earth—her beauty, the marvelous qualities of spring, and the loveliness of physical existence (when we’re present). Use the energy of the full moon to create practical steps, which are in alignment with earth cycles, to move forward in life. Stay practical and grounded whenever possible.
  • Despite the marvelous influence of Jupiter (expansion) conjunct Neptune (mysticism), it’s important to remember that mass consciousness is low at this point. It’s only through the effort of tapping into our spiritual being that we can reap the rewards of exceptional aspects.

I love your work and the wolves too. Very helpful.
I would like to know more about planting/ gardening with moon and planet cycles. We live in Minnesota, today during the full moon, it’s 30 degrees. Any thoughts on this I would be grateful for.
