Earth composes the world in which we live. It is a fabric that is perceived by the five senses of taste, smell, touch, sight, and hearing. It’s through the body that we experience the outer world.
We also manifest through the physical world. The physical world responds to our actions, vision, food, and interaction with nature. It takes the shape of our manifestations, and the outer physical world constantly
responds to our thoughts, emotions, and physical reactions. (When we feel fear or experience happiness, the physical world amplifies our experience.)

Just as we are composed of a spiritual nature and physical body, the same is true with the substance of earth—or the physical.

Every physical object contains depth, height, weight, and solidity. It also contains light. Every atom of physical reality holds light at its core; every physical object reflects the light and goodness of the All or One.
The rules of light are the similar with the physical world. The elements and components of the physical respond to higher vibrations, visualization, emotion, and desire—as well as harmony. When we are
harmonious and aligned with a higher vibration, the physical world begins to alter its rules by responding to us in a different, more positive manner.

When we align and balance our consciousness, the physical world responds to our consciousness. Life may become beautiful or feel more harmonious as the universe loves to connect with nature, and it speaks to us often if we listen and observe.

Earth is the substance where we feel, see, hear, touch, and experience the desires of the heart. Once we perceive the beauty and power of the light, we can understand that everything is responding to us. It’s simply that we must maintain our awareness and alter the flow of consciousness and expectation. (It’s a practice.) In the “normal” world, some of the changes might be called a miracle. In the metaphysical world, these are the changes that we long to create—and can create with inner work.

There are limitations of the physical world such as time, karma, physical repetition, gravity, and other laws of physical science. Through use of light and practice, we can overcome karma, which usually makes life flow in a new direction. We can perceive other possibilities and probable realities in life, and, through observation, we can alter aspects of repetition.

Life alters its flow when our consciousness lies in a different place—when the lens of our focus opens to the universe or source. When source flows in, we become very conscious. The moment expands, and our awareness changes from one dimension to another. Time is also situational. Some moments can seem very long, and, at other times, time flies and disappears into nothingness. Karma is simply energy traveling in the opposite direction of the inner self. By recognizing it and changing the self, we make the energy flow in the opposite direction, which enlivens and awakens us. (I suspect the laws of physicality can be quite useful if we learn to use them in a spiritual way. For example, the razor cuts of the stones of the pyramids and their construction are impossible to currently create with our
tools.)

Physicality also offers beautiful information such as the smell of a rose, the colors of autumn trees, the vision of happiness, and touching some who we love. One of the secrets of physicality is that our senses become stronger, we gain greater awareness of the physical, and best of all it responds to us. One more secret is that nature corrects our manifestations, making them more harmonious and in greater alignment with the inner self.

Yogananda recalled his conversation with Luther Burbank.
“THE SECRET of improved plant breeding, apart from scientific knowledge, is love.” Luther Burbank uttered this wisdom as I walked beside him in his Santa Rosa garden. We halted near a bed of edible cacti. “While I was conducting experiments to make ‘spineless’ cacti,” he continued, “I often talked to the plants to create a vibration of love. ‘You have nothing to fear,’ I would tell them. ‘You don’t need your defensive thorns. I will protect you.’ Gradually the useful plant of the desert emerged in a thornless variety.”
