Full Moon Forecast: The Hunter’s Moon

October’s Full Moon is called the Hunter’s Moon by Native Americans because it’s the last moon before the arrival of winter.  The Full Moon appears on Wed, October 20 at 10:57 am. (Energy and emotion are heightened by the full moon, and they are helpful in the creation and expression of dreams.)

The Sun is placed on Libra 28, and the Sabian Symbol for the degree, according to Lynda Hill, is “A Man Alone in Deep Gloom. Unnoticed, Angels Are Coming to His Aid.” In metaphysics, it’s said, “At our darkest moments, there are more for us (in the invisible world) than there are against us.” The symbol may speak of alleviating the heaviness associated with the past 2 years, or it may speak to us about our personal battles. In either case, we cultivate the light of the unknown through meditation, faith, and alignment with the inner self. Through small perceptions, we ignite and engage the larger and higher forces of the unseen world.

Sun conjuncts Mars (assertion, overall energy), which brings strength, energy, and self-confidence. It gives a push, increasing our ability for action and motion. Sun trines Jupiter (good fortune), and it bestows self-confidence, optimism, and a positive attitude. Sun squares Saturn (limitation, time) asks for patience and determination to overcome limitations of the past. (It’s important to push through old, negative feelings and repeat a task many times—if necessary.)

The Moon is a placed in Aries, a passionate and active fire sign. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac; it encourages self-expression and new beginnings.  Fire brings passion and desire, which are particularly powerful when combined with a spiritual purpose such as self-improvement or development of inner gifts.

Moon opposes Mars (action, energy), meaning our moods and emotions can conflict with right action. It’s important to find a “neutral” point whenever possible and release irritations. The aspect particularly asks for spiritually aligned goals and actions to avoid egoic expressions.

In past months, retrograde planets prevented achievement and/or slowed expression of desires and projects. Currently, Mercury (communications), Jupiter (good fortune), and Pluto (subconscious, transformation) are direct. It’s a bit like receiving a burst of energy from the universe.

Mercury (communications, mind) is direct in Libra, encouraging beautiful expression of the inner self through beauty and harmony as well as speaking, writing, and communication via the internet. Mercury trines Saturn (karma, time, structure), encouraging attention to detail, planning for the future, and grasping the importance of long-term goals and dreams.

Venus (love, relationships) is in Sagittarius, a light-hearted fire sign. When Venus is in Sagittarius, life becomes fun, fiery, and exciting. The placement encourages optimism, exploring life, and responding to our inner desires to feel the sensations and motion of life. Venus squares Neptune (mysticism, idealism) increases sensitivity, awareness of beauty and the sublime, and difficulty in discerning between illusion and truth.

Mars (action, energy) in Libra prefers action through the air waves including internet, broadcasts, speaking, and intuitive work—particularly with a beautiful, harmonious tone. Mars trines Jupiter is a wonderful aspect, bringing a wave of positive energy. However, this aspect tends to work best with a positive kind attitude, and it can also create success and ignite desires.

Jupiter (good fortune) and Saturn (limitation, karma) are in Aquarius, the somewhat erratic and unusual sign ruling electronics, the quantum field, the collective, and big change. Jupiter and Saturn square (tension) Uranus, which contains similar energy to the sign of Aquarius—but is currently in Taurus, an earth sign ruling the financial area of life and the physical aspects (trees, flowers, oceans, etc.) of the planet. The aspect grows stronger until December 23 for the third and last time this year.

Sun, Moon, and Mars square (tension) Pluto (underworld, subconscious). Sun (life) square Pluto (subconscious, transformation) inflates the ego and need to control along with a larger lesson of discovering why we have the need and surrendering it to the universe. Moon square Pluto reveals emotional power struggles and conflicts, so we can move beyond them. Mars square Pluto gives strength to ambition and assertiveness. Again, it’s important to direct the energy in a positive sense.

Tips

  1. Overall, the chart has many mystical aspects, which deliver waves of positive energy and open our souls to the benevolent forces of the Divine.
  2. The direct motion of three planets, including Mercury, helps with motivation and attainment of desires and goals.
  3. There are aspects and placements such as Venus in Sagittarius and Sun trine Jupiter, which are uplifting and optimistic.
  4. As with every chart, there are conflicting messages and feelings, which are expressed through aspects with Saturn (time, limitation, karma). Overcoming the feelings of the past is always part of creating a better future. Also, it’s good to deal with conflicting feelings and shining light on them

Blue Moon Rising

The full moon appears on Sunday, August 22 at 8:02 am ET.

The full moon is called a Blue Moon because it’s the second full moon within a month. It’s quite interesting because this is the 2nd Leo Sun/Aquarius Full Moon in August. Leo is the heart, and Aquarius represents the group initiation. Perhaps, we are learning how to express our heart’s truth as an individual or on a group level. Either way, it’s important because the language of the heart brings both light and truth.

Manifestation is the key note of the chart, and there are aspects that block and support it. There are eight trines, which are very positive. (Think of the triangle and how it represents harmony.)  Four oppositions are in the chart, which can cause the experience of floating between two opposing desires or beliefs. (Oppositions are 180 degrees apart – think of left and right or black and white.)

Sun opposition Jupiter (good fortune) suggests our new and creative ideas are not quite ready to put into form. There’s pressure within the chart to make changes, but we should probably wait a bit longer. When Sun opposes Jupiter, we lack wind in our sails. We need to pause until the landscape changes before moving into our desires. (We can dream and meditate, but it’s best to wait on action.) Moon (emotion) conjuncts (close to) Jupiter (expansion, good luck), and the aspect can bring good fortune and positive events. (Yes, it’s a bit of a contradiction.)

Mercury (mind) is placed in Virgo, a sign that increases precision and attention to detail. Mercury conjuncts (close to) Mars (action), which can give life to projects through mental focus and right action. Mercury (communications, mind) trines Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), which can give great insight and brilliant ideas. Mercury opposes Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which can cloud our thoughts or impose mental confusion. Mercury (mind) trines Pluto, which allows access to hidden resources and gifts, which are discerned through the mental plane.

Venus (love, beauty) is placed in Libra, the sign of balance, beauty, and art. Venus trines Saturn (karma), which can give success, strength, and structure to our creations as well as physical appearance. The aspect also aids with stability and alignment with the earth. Venus trine North Node expands our ability with the law of attraction. It’s an excellent time to attract people who can improve our life.

Mars in Virgo places attention on work and detailed tasks.  Mars (action) trines Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), which adds in creating change and new endeavors. Mars opposes Neptune (mysticism, idealism), and the aspect encourages time alone spent in spiritual pursuits. The illusory qualities of Neptune may interfere with the achievement of our dreams. Mars trines Pluto (subconscious, hidden resources, transformation), which gives strength for success and achievement.

Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (limitation, structure, karma) are in Aquarius. Saturn trines North Node, which can bring success and stability. Saturn squares (tension) Uranus (sudden change, quantum field), heightening the split regarding beliefs and the expression of thoughts. Uranus in Taurus can refer to the earth and many seasonal/weather changes taking place at this time.

Uranus (change, quantum field) trines Pluto (underworld, transformation). The aspect gives a feeling of restlessness and/or dissatisfaction with particular aspects of life. It can create a positive transformation It basically asks for insights about the self and the way that we live life. From this point, we can change the aspects of our lives into a higher form.

Tips:

  1. We’ll experience the Full Moon energies for 7-10 days. It’s a wonderful time to prepare, focus, and plan manifestations. It’s probably not time to show them to the world.
  2. With Sun in Leo and Moon in Aquarius, it’s important to speak from the heart and value our personal truths.
  3. There are huge forces such as Mercury and Mars trine Pluto, Venus trine Saturn, and Saturn trine North Node, which ask for creation of new ideas and presentation of this creativity in the world. Sun (life) in opposition to Jupiter (good fortune) interferes and delays the expression of the positive ideas and energy.
  4. Mercury (mind) and Mars (energy, action) in opposition clouds our thoughts and limits our actions. Mercury (mind) in Virgo gives excellent focus and concentration with projects. Venus in Libra helps in seeing the beauty of the world as well as feeling deeper love and appreciation in relationships.
  5. There are contrasting and opposing energies throughout the chart, but we also experience them in life. Whenever we move between 2 ideas or impulses, we are working to find our personal truth. Perhaps, the challenge of the chart lies in a greater discovery of the inner self–and manifesting a new future from this point.

Bright March Moon

The first full moon after the equinox determines the date of Easter, which comes on the first Sunday after the moon. The name is said to come from the goddess, Eostre, who rules spring and dawn. It’s a special moon, marking the arrival of a new season. In spring, the life force flows to the surface, appearing as flowers, leaves, and fertility.

In March 2020, we were limited in motion and action, but this chart alters the flow. The full moon appears on March 28 at 2:48 pm. With Sun in Aries, an active fire sign, and Moon in Libra, an air sign, it’s important to take inspired action–particularly actions that reflect creativity and inspired thought. The chart also offers healing on a deep love along with the potential for increased love and optimism. (The chart is quite different from one year ago. It’s encouraging—at least.) There are also contradictions and challenges, which are part of the duality of human experience.

One of the positive features of the chart is a Grand Trine, which brings good luck and harmony. Moon in Libra, Mars in Gemini, and Saturn in Aquarius form the big, beautiful trine, which can gift positive results, particularly when taking action. Air signs rule thought–the transmission of thought, which can include thinking and planning but also intuition, which is a way of thinking with the heart and mind. (The energies of a full moon generally include a seven day period–three days before the full moon, the day of the full moon, and three days after the moon.)

Sun is in Aries, a passionate, creative sign that loves action and motion. Moon is in Libra, which is ruled by Venus. (It’s a wonderful time to plant flowers, which will bloom luxuriously.) The energy of Libra includes relationships, beauty, balance, and creativity. The Sun and Moon bring a combination of love and creativity, which comes with the beauty of spring.

Sun (life, light) conjuncts Venus (love, relationships, beauty), bringing a sense of optimism and hope. It can also help with seeing the positive side of life and love for life. Sun conjuncts (close to) Chiron, the wounded healer, indicating an opportunity for healing the self.

Moon (emotions) opposes Venus (love, relationships), which can give the desire for love and affection along with a unfulfilled sensation. (This aspect is the opposite of Sun conjunct Venus, but there is much energy in the chart to support the joy of finding love for self, the universe, and life.) Moon trines Mars (action), which heightens emotions, passion, and charisma. Emotions may feel intense, but they are more easily expressed in a positive sense. Additionally, the trine gives the power to move through obstacles and difficulties with grace and understanding. Moon trines (harmonious) Saturn (limitation, structure), increasing practicality and stability with emotions.

Mercury is in Pisces, a water sign, that creates a mix of emotion and thought. Mercury (thought, communications) squares Mars (action), which means our thoughts can lead to inspired action or confuse the course of action. Thoughts can be clouded and distracting without the clarity needed to move in the direction of a goal. Mercury conjuncts (close to) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), which heightens creativity but also bring confusion. Rely on intuition to find the right answer.

Mars (action, male) in Gemini pairs intellect and passion. We can talk ourselves into action, become passionate about a specific thought, or think deeply about love and relationships. Mars trines (harmonious) Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (limitation, karma). Mars trine Jupiter enlarges our opportunity for right action, increasing the likelihood of success. Mars trine Saturn lends a sense of structure, patience, and diligence to endeavors. Mars squares Neptune (limitation, illusion), which can cloud our consciousness and add confusion to the mix.

Jupiter (expansion, increase) and Saturn (limitation, karma) are in Aquarius, which said to bring forth more of the New Age. Saturn squares (tension) Uranus. This aspect could represent the awareness of our alignment—or lack of it—with the true characteristics of the Aquarian Age. Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) is in Taurus, which rules earth. Uranus always brings change of some sort, so we may continue to experience volcanic activity and similar earth alterations.

Sun (life) and Venus (love) conjunct Chiron, the wounded healer. All of these planets are placed in Aries, the first sign of the zodiac that represents the beginning of a cycle or a lesson. With Chiron in Aries, it may refer to a new way or zone of healing in this new time of transition. The wounded healer refers the part of the self that shuts down from injuries (emotional, physical, mental) in life. It can also denote how we hide our vulnerability. When we heal, we discover our gifts.

Cold Full Moon

The Full Cold Moon appears on Tuesday, December 28 at 10:28 pm ET. It’s the last full moon of 2020, Significant movement begins to take place with the planets, as we slowly move away from the aspects of the past year.

Full moons ask where our dreams and plans are leading. Dreaming usually means deciding on a new direction; knowing what we don’t want isn’t enough. We should dream big and let the light of the moon carry us away. Seriously, the full moon usually brings fruition of dreams, but the timing of this moon signifies the importance of fixing on a desire for the entire year. (It can be as simple as becoming more of who we truly are or learning to share more of our light.)

The chart is heavy with earth, bringing the necessity to plan and create in the material world. Sun (life) in Capricorn is about ambition, climbing mountains, and/or creating from a higher place of consciousness. Moon (emotions) is in Cancer, a water sign, increasing our sensitivity and heightening feelings.

Sun (life) and Mercury (communications, mind) trine (harmonious) Uranus (sudden change/quantum field), and the trine brings a focus on individuality, original thought, and the possibility of seeing life from a larger viewpoint. Uranus tends to expand consciousness, thought, and the way that we communicate. It also heightens gestalt moments when we suddenly “receive” or perceive a large truth or universal law. (We may receive insights about how and what to manifest.)

Moon (emotion) trines (harmonious) Neptune (mysticism, illusion), allowing us to see through illusion and discover truths about energy, love, and positive emotional connection. Neptune tends to heighten optimism, the intensity of sleep and dreams, and creativity. It can also increase intuitive abilities. On an emotional level, we can more accurately read feelings and perceive the flow of spiritual energies.

Moon (emotions) opposes Mercury (communications) in Capricorn. Mercury in Capricorn is practical, slow, and methodical. Moon in Cancer is emotional, loving, and changeable. Emotions and thoughts may seem confusing and/or conflicted. The two energies alternate with an opposition, or we may feel both at the same time, which can feel frustrating.

Venus (love, partnerships) is in Sagittarius, which brings a desire for adventure and excitement. Venus trines (harmonious) Mars (male, energy). It’s an excellent aspect that brings together the soft, feminine aspects of Venus and the vitality/drive of Mars. It increases charm and creativity. Venus squares (tension) Neptune (mysticism/illusion), which can bring inconsistent or changeable emotion, heightened creativity, and laziness—or inspiration.

Mars (male, energy) in Aries remains locked in the squares that brought confusion and tension throughout the year. Mars is slowly moving away from the positions, which relieves tension and pressure as time passes.

Jupiter (good fortune) and Saturn (limitation, karma) are placed in Aquarius, which hopefully brings new humanitarian opportunities as well as a time for inner growth. Aquarius tends to expand individuality, new uses of electronics (including sound, light, and color), and values equality. Jupiter and Saturn square (tension) Uranus (quantum field, sudden change) in Taurus.

Jupiter (expansion), Saturn (limitation), and Pluto (underworld, transformation) remain conjunct in the positions that contributed to our current scope of reality, which will change in 2021.

Full Snow Moon and Continuing Change

February brings a quieter forecast with Mercury retrograde, beginning on February 16. In the past, retrogrades tended to indicate a period of rest, but it’s very important that we stay on track. When we can’t actively pursue our desires, we can meditate on them or continue working on them in a quiet way. In other words, persist!

(There’s tremendous pressure from the planets for change, growth, and a new way of being. It’s accomplished through action motivated by the inner self–as opposed to running around and trying to do everything. When we feel the “push”, we can recognize it as a planetary push, detach, and reconnect with the inner self, which is how we create spiritual change in the inner and outer world.)

The Full Snow Moon appears on February 9. It’s a super moon, meaning it’s closer than usual to the earth and will feel more intense. Sun is in Aquarius, the humanitarian sign of the New Age. Moon is placed in Leo, a fire sign ruling the heart, which ignites passion and desire for love, romance, and drama. Moon trines Mars (action) in Sagittarius, urging direct action and assertiveness. It encourages optimism and hope.

Mercury (communication, mind) is in Pisces, the sign of the last age. In this position, it encourages reflection and union with mysticism. The planet conjuncts Neptune, which can connect us to the unseen world and convey information, particularly relating to spiritual mysteries. Mercury trines North Node (the spiritual path or endeavor) in Cancer, encouraging insights about empathy and emotional understanding.

Venus (love, partnership) moved in Aries, creating a bolder, fiery tone with relationships and feminine issues. Venus squares Mars, continuing the friction between male/female energies. Venus conjuncts (close to) Chiron, the wounded healer, and we may heal ourselves by opening to love, redefining our feelings/beliefs about love, and taking affirmative steps in a romantic direction.

Mars (assertion, male energy) in Sagittarius boosts our desire to move ahead on our quest. Fire signs bring creativity, energy, and motion. Mars (action) trines Uranus, emphasizing bold action, but it squares Neptune, meaning our vision is not always clear. We may feel the push to move forward but lack clarity with our sense of direction. (If the opportunity appears to act – as visualized – take advantage of it. Ask advice on other issues.)

Jupiter (expansion, good fortune) in Capricorn conjuncts Pluto, the planet ruling the underworld, transmutation, and power. It opens the opportunity to use natural abilities and talents to create achievement. Pluto rules all types of power, and it’s wise to focus on endeavors that benefit the self – and the all. Personal pursuits for power can bring our “undoing”. (This aspect may well apply to current political and global trends.)

Saturn, planet of limitation and karma, squares (tension) Uranus (quantum field, erratic change). Saturn likes slow motion, and Uranus loves rapid change. There’s a combination of very different energies with pressure to change our lives while remaining loyal to responsibilities and creations from the past. It’s about expanding while working with the structure of our current lives. It can feel frustrating and confining, but the object is about finding balance—learning to grow in one’s present circumstances. Saturn and Pluto are conjunct in the relatively rare aspect that can bring awakening of higher consciousness and the power to build a more benevolent world.

Uranus (quantum field, sudden change) squares Pluto (underworld, transformation), dredging up hidden truths from the dark rivers of the subconscious while bringing old patterns of repetition to the surface. It’s wonderful when we can see it and make constructive change; it’s painful when we feel it but can’t grasp the underlying truth.)

Tips:

  • Several aspects in the chart exert influences that can give the feeling of a “push” and the sensation of life moving faster than usual. Slow down and review when the feeling occurs. Align with the inner self and think about what’s truly important to personal growth and the pursuit of dreams. Let go of the rest.
  • It’s important to take action when pursuing goals. A slower period of reflection begins on February 16 with Mercury retrograde. Currently, Mars encourages action, but our vision can be clouded by the Mars/Neptune square.
  • Mercury in Pisces combines emotions and thoughts with a spiritual focus.
  • We’re in a period of intense change that involves higher and lower consciousness as indicated by Jupiter conjunct Pluto and Saturn conjunct Pluto. It continues throughout the year.
  • Venus (love, relationships) is very active in its placement in Aries. It asks for assertiveness with love and creative reflection.
  • Jupiter increases the force of our natural talents and pushes us forward through its conjunction (close to) Pluto (transformation, power, subconscious). It’s best to keep the good of “all” in mind when forming goals.
  • Saturn (time, limitation) and Uranus (sudden change, quantum field) are square, creating a conflict between responsibilities to our present life and the urge to force change.
  • The Full Moon will feel intense. Plan accordingly.

Sabian Symbols, from Lynda Hill’s work

Sun is on 21 Aquarius, “A Woman Disappointed and Disillusioned, Courageously Facing a Seemingly Empty Life”.  The image depicts a hopeless review of a meaningless life; however, lives often change when we look at them with courage and a willingness to alter our beliefs. When we focus on the good with gratitude, overcome old perceptions, and approach possibilities, life improves.

Moon sits on 21 Leo, “Intoxicated Chickens Dizzily Flap Their Wings” symbolizes overreaching and forgetting to work with the limitations in our current life. In metaphysics, whatever doesn’t work is a lesson in rewriting our desires and goals—as well as approaching life in a different way with a new, more practical perspective.

Mercury is placed on 9 Pisces, “The Race Begins: Intent on Outdistancing His Rivals, a Jockey Spurs His Horse to Great Speed.” It can certainly feel like a race with the current pressure from the outer planets; however, racing to our goals is not a good answer. Reaching goals on a spiritual level involves consistent change, practice, and discipline. Feel the desire but do the work.

Venus is on 2 Aries, “A Comedian Entertaining a Group of Friends”. Part of love is bringing humor and lightness to life. Fun actually lifts our vibrations. Bringing lighter vibrations can help others and create a communal feeling of unity, particularly with those we love.

Mars sits on 26 Sagittarius, “A Flag-Bearer in Battle”. The symbol refers to acting on conviction, representing a cause, and/or promoting truth. Currently, the symbol may ask if we’re ready to move ahead on inner convictions and create a new life.

Jupiter is on 16 Capricorn, “School Grounds Filled with Boys and Girls in Gymnasium Suits”. Interaction, movement, and physical vitality are implied by the symbol. It implies instruction, fun, and awareness of energy between the two sexes.
