7 Tips for Raising Consciousness

 

Raising consciousness can help as the planetary weather draws our attention to aspects of life, which require our energy and/or a change in perspective. Problems and issues occur on a lower wave of consciousness—a lower vibration. When we raise our consciousness, we can see them from a different perspective.

It’s important because we tend to see what we do wrong when we’re correcting or examining an issue. Although the solutions are not always easy, we can find the strength to see life differently, take the next step, or calm our emotions. (Many of us are clearing patterns from past lifetimes. It’s hard work, and it takes energy.)

Raising consciousness is fairly simple. It may take several repetitions for a day or two, but it’s doable. Choose from the exercises to discover what works best for you.

1) Focus on the heart chakra where emotions are balanced. There is no motion—only unconditional love. You can see pink or emerald green light in heart space or middle of the chest (and emanate it into the space around you.) Simply thinking about the heart chakra takes you into a softer, quieter place. The heart is the center of your chakra system. This exercise balances the energy of the lower and upper chakras.

2) All problems relate to some form of fear. (Everyone has it although I think humanity is moving out of it.) Imagine the energy of your problem and send love to it. Love diminishes fear, and it will alter your consciousness temporarily. After all, the issue is “up” for examination, clearing, and healing. You’ll feel freer without it.

3) Problems tend to repeat on a cyclical basis. Changing emotions, reactions, and thoughts is part of clearing it. Any success with an aspect of a problem will reduce it–although it may return. (It’s easy to see how other people have repeating problems, and it’s difficult to see it within the self.) Eventually, you have insights, understanding, and changed behavior as a result of the problem. It tends to disappear at this point.

4) Emotions do not always emanate from you. If you briefly feel sad, angry, or another strong emotion–and the emotion grows stronger–it is probably not your emotion. You can ask for a higher level of consciousness and to disconnect from mass consciousness. (It often requires several “takes” for this to work.) When your emotions clear, take a few minutes to visualize your desired future. This practice brings in more love and courage as well as a higher vibration.

5) The practice of meditation lifts you to a higher place of being. Visualizing beautiful events and outcomes from a place of higher spiritual focus helps to bring them into being; it also raises the vibration of all of the particles in your personal reality.

6) Call on the angels or write an angel letter. Angels wait for your call. You can ask for angels to surround you with feelings of peace, bliss, happiness, or understanding. You can also ask for their help with a problem. (I’ve found it’s best to ask for their help to come softly, gently, and joyously to avoid abrupt changes in my life. The gentle changes feel nicer.)

7) Nature wants to help with your healing process. Energy collects in body as a result of spiritual, emotional, or mental tension. You can sit outdoors and ask for energy to heal your body or clear the mind. Walking in nature quiets the soul. The colors, shapes, and patterns are perfect for the body. You’ve walked enough when the mind becomes quiet without interruptions from thoughts. These techniques are particularly helpful when you ask for the healing presence of nature.

These practices often lead to non-ordinary solutions, realizations, and intuitions..

Opening the Heart Space

 

Opening our hearts to life is one of the most fulfilling tasks that we can undertake. When the heart chakra opens, we begin to weigh our actions from the heart. The heart is like a plumb line; it tells us when we are centered and when we are not.

Our culture is permeated with messages of “listening to your heart” and “knowing in your heart”. It is in the space of the heart that our true desires reside. The joy of the connection with the “One” or the “All” is felt in the heart. We find true compassion in the heart, not in the mind.

The Egyptians believed that the soul resided in the heart. The Goddess Ma’at weighed the human heart of the dead to discover if the soul had earned paradise in the afterlife.

Tibetan Buddhism describes the heart chakra as an 8 white-petal center that is the seat of the Very Subtle Mind and the Very Subtle Wind. These two qualities are immortal and reside in the seat of the heart from life time to life time. (For this reason, other people are recognizable in other lifetimes.) It is also described as the essence of Absolute Reality.

The heart chakra is the fourth chakra, or the Anahata. It resides in the middle of the chakra system, balancing the 3 lower chakras which rule physical life and the 3 upper chakras, which control our access to spirituality. The heart (Tiphareth) is found in the Middle Pillar of the Kaballah.

The Middle Way or Central Path is a dominant theme in philosophy. Balancing duality is an important task that is achieved by walking the Middle Path. Listening to the heart is the first step on this path. When we think with our heads and hearts in accordance, our actions begin to reflect a balance between thought and emotion. When we are one with the true or authentic self, the ego and soul are integrated. We live from the heart.

Alchemy describes the awakening of the heart chakra as the communication between the heart and the Higher Self or Holy Guardian Angel. As we receive our direction from the heart, our outer direction in life becomes dictated by our inner knowing. We access the truth of our Higher Self and the immortal wisdom of the heart space.

Experiencing Universal Love creates love for the self and others. Love becomes aligned with integrity, and our personal inner truth becomes more valuable. We gain true independence and self-reliance because we begin to relinquish our dependency on the outer world for direction.

We learn to love the light in everyone, but we also learn to value our selves. Love has many faces in the mirror-like quality of our Universe. Restriction/expansion represents an aspect of duality, which relates love. The restrictive nature teaches about boundaries, and the expansive side is about opening to larger realities and possibilities, offering a glimpse into the mystery of the All.

Speaking the truth of our hearts opens corridors of communication. When we live in the knowledge of our hearts, we give and receive equitably. When we are in balance with the One, this energy is reflected outwardly into the All. By simply reflecting on our hearts, we can affect marvelous changes in our lives that ripple outward into the world.

EXERCISES: The wisdom of the heart chakra can be accessed through practice, attention, and a true desire to experience Universal love. You may find that researching the heart chakra and drawing an image of the chakra is helpful and fun.

PINK HEART: Imagine that a beam from the Universe is pouring pink light (love) into the center of the chest. Breathe in this love and allow it flow throughout the entire body. Allow the pink light to flow into the nuclei of each cell and into the spaces between the cells. Remember: the Universe’s capacity to give is infinite. You can receive as much light as you desire. (Note: this exercise is included in last month’s voice stream on manifestation.)

SENDING LIGHT TO OTHERS: You can also radiate this love or pink light to any situation or person. Imagine that the beam of pink light is pouring into your heart chakra. When your heart chakra is full, imagine that your friends and loved ones. See if you can find a location for them or imagine that they are in the room with you. Radiate a beam of pink light to each of them. Return to the present moment and allow more light to flow into your heart chakra. When you share light with others, you increase your capacity to receive light. You should feel slightly energized after the completion of this exercise.

DAILY PRACTICE: Ask yourself several times each day when working, walking or performing daily tasks, “What does my heart think about this? How does my heart feel?” You may ask this question about people, situations, or changes in the flow of life. Eventually, you will “feel” or hear an answer from your inner self. You will know that this is your answer. (Truth is simple so your answer will probably be short.)

Creating More Love

Everyone wants more love. When you connect with the love “frequency”, you receive more of it. When you think about awakening, you automatically connect with energetic waves, which give the feeling of love. When you open your heart, you receive more light and love from the universe.

It’s interesting to realize how the placement of consciousness affects your experience. For example, when you think about light, you receive love. When you love yourself, it alters the flow of particles in your body and energy field. When you send love (pink light), it can alter relationships and bring healing. (Obviously, this type of work involves sincere feelings.)

  1. The ultimate source of light and love is the universe. It comes through meditation and contemplation—and by listening to the inner self. (You know when you find it because everything feels bright, beautiful, and still.)
  2. Finding universal love changes our perception of life. It reveals the inner self. You see, the inner self often differs from “who” you think you are. This part of the self feels life with a multiplicity of sensations. It speaks through intuition to lead you on your path.
  3. Finding the inner self means embarking on a passage of self-love. This involves boundaries, insights, loving the darkness within the self, and a willingness to see the truth. It also brings more love, compassion, and empathy. It’s a journey—not an immediate answer.
  4. The heart speaks more loudly as you step into love. It whispers about what you truly love, and it tells you about hurt and pain, which are sometimes hidden beneath the surface. You also become more vulnerable, and this means becoming brave.
  5. As you step into vulnerability, you begin to see how universal love heals. You can send light or love to others. You can hold a vision of healing for the world. You can send love, comfort, and compassion. You want to see abundance and success for others.
  6. Love teaches you about change, which may mean changing yourself. Perhaps, you learn to love your body or your life. Maybe, you speak more kindly or see the underlying light in everything. It leads to a shift into a higher state of being.
  7. As you learn more about love, you accept the human state of duality. You know the state of love shifts from one duality into another. Life provides the opportunity to shift sadness into happiness or loneliness to love, but you learn to rely on the beauty of your heart to bring you back into center–where the universe awaits.

NOTE: Everyone has moments of “not” feeling love. This can be useful if you are willing to see these dark places and moments as points, which offer the potential for change and growth. (Accept this as the part of you that longs for change, and send light to the feelings. Assume you have the ability to change the circumstances, thoughts, and feelings, which are associated with this state.)

Old Wounds

It’s important to know you lose energy around old wounds. If you’re honest, you usually have the same feelings when we’re depressed, angry, or upset. The old emotions and thought patterns typically elicit reactions from others. It’s part of a cycle, which occurs when your energy is low or upset.

To break the cycle, it’s helpful to notice where and how you lose energy. There’s usually a consistent pattern with energy and problems with other people. By noticing your reactions, you change them. (When you react in a different way, people respond in new ways.) As you master the reactions, you will gain energy. With more energy, it’s easier to create positive visualizations, habits, and patterns.

You’re not changing other people. You’re changing how you participate with reality and react to a specific set of stimuli. By “seeing” it differently, “reality” flows into a higher form.

The Future of Love

As the planet increases in frequency and collective consciousness grows in the direction of enlightenment, the definition of love will probably shift.

Love from the heart space is not like any other type of love. It brings a complete connection, a higher vibration that brings unity with a dialog of spirit because we know exactly how the other person feels. Real love is an intuitive language, which needs words only to shape the color of thoughts and emotions.

Sometimes, the world feels strange

 

Why does everything feel strange?

Everything feels strange because we are moving through a dispensation of light, which will last another 5-10 years. We’re between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius when light rains down on the planet—and the Precession of Ages, a 26,000 year cycle.

Uranus is square Pluto, and Earth is moving on her axis. It’s a time of group awakening. In past ages, individuals such as Christ or Buddha carried the light of enlightenment for the entire planet. This is a group effort, and many people are awakening on the planet. (It’s not enough to awaken. We have to do something with that energy!) In the Age of Pisces, the experience of unconditional love was the way of moving into Universal Light, In the Age of Aquarius, we see the inner self in everyone. But we also have to look at their character, energy, and way of life to discover if they are part of our endeavor. In other words, love the light but act in a discriminating manner with choices for friends.

The group initiative means we feel everyone else. On certain days, we are together in the light. When we’re not aligned with the inner self, we can feel everyone else’s shift. We also feel mass consciousness at the grocery store, movies, or mall. (We consistently experience the oscillation between light and darkness.)

One day, I feel fine. The next day, I feel terrible, tired, or emotional. What’s causing this?

There’s definitely an unsettled feeling. Oddly, we may feel it more when we’re very connected. Our inner awareness and intuition bring heightened awareness of change.

Earth is raising her frequency and pivoting between several physical points on her axis. (No, it’s not a polar shift.) The old points of alignment feel good to our bodies. The new points of alignment bring in an entirely different energy. The shift of the earth causes changes in the cycle of life. The days are longer, and the shadows look different. Everything is growing at an accelerated rate. There are significant changes with animals and birds.

The earth exudes a rhythm, which we feel physically and emotionally. The rhythm is interrupted as the earth rocks on her axis. Hypothetically, the motion occurs to shake up old patterns and help in raising our vibration. (Be patient. Everyone is adjusting.)

The new energy can feel exhilarating or exhausting. It depends on what we’re doing, the placement of our consciousness, and our overall frequency. The energy also brings awareness of health issues, emotional/mental patterns for clearing.

On the positive side, it’s much easier to manifest when “material” reality is unstable. Energy flows more easily and adapts to new forms. The important part is taking time to sit, center, and focus on visualization. (It also helps to walk and garden.) And there are also moments of feeling divinely connected.

Are there other reasons for feeling weird?

Yes. Uranus is square Pluto until March 2019 when it returns to Taurus, an earth sign. Chiron (wounded healer) moves back into Aries in February. Currently, we are re-experiencing the energies between 2012-2018.  Uranus in Aries (new beginnings, anger, passion + planet of sudden and spiritual change) is square Pluto (resources, subconscious, unknown darkness, transformation) in Capricorn. It’s a difficult square, and it can sometimes bring up more than we think is bearable. (We’ll get through it.)

Uranus exudes awakening, and Pluto reveals hidden truths, shadows, and subconscious emotions/thoughts. We’re dealing with our darkness and light—and seeing more about the political, economic world. In the big picture, it helps in making decisions to create a better world.

NOTE: Recent astrological charts presented aspects to help in becoming aware of karma as well as mystical, healing aspect that require opening to love. It’s wonderful, but it’s not always easy!

What can I do about it?

Hang on for the ride. Accept the ups and downs. Nurture yourself on tired days and achieve on good days. Understand the rhythms of the energy. Nothing lasts forever; it changes from day to day.

Check in with your inner self. Ask if today is a good day for errands, emails, new clients, or deep talks. Make the physical body stronger and spend time observing the flow of nature. Feel your flow. Trust that we’re moving into a time of greater love. (Don’t worry about the people who don’t feel the fluctuations or step into awakening. Stay centered and trust your inner self.)

Working with New Energies

 

The new wave of energy, which followed the eclipse, increases our power to create and dream of magical creations. Every wonderful quest is accompanied by an assignment. In this case, it’s karma—or the repetition of lower thoughts, emotions, and patterns.Cessation of karma—or repetition of negative events—occurs through a new action, response, or feeling. (In other words, a higher feeling/vibration dissolves old patterns and clears the energy so it can take on the shape of a new and better form.)

It begins with awareness. The average person experiences about 10,000 thoughts each day, and most are repetitive. By becoming aware of the inner dialog (how we talk to ourselves), we can rewrite the statements. In a few days or weeks, we create a new paradigm of positive thoughts and feelings. (It’s best to start with areas of strong reaction/emotion.)

As we release patterns and embrace the light, it becomes more important to use our gifts and balance our physical energy. (The physical body often feels tired and/or dehydrated when adjusting to new levels of light.)  It’s important to know how we use our energy when talking to others, healing and/or helping others, and moving through daily tasks. (Review the past few hours whenever tiredness or sleepiness occurs.)

Seeking the fulfillment of desires requires energy and work. When the universe is changing rapidly, it’s helpful to experiment with techniques and try them at different times of the day. (Everyone has specific hours that benefit their practice most.) We can learn to send light (and color) to problems, create better visual pictures for our current situation in life, and express gratitude for all of the good in our lives.

The practices listed above will have results, but it’s also necessary to change the way that we see ourselves. It’s helpful to spend a few moments recalling our positive qualities, the sensation of laughing and smiling, and the confidence, which accompanies success. Spend a few more moments sensing intuitive abilities. (These are the qualities of the inner self, and they are automatically heightened when held in the eye of mind.)

Also, remember the power of this time. Despite the mixed emotions and confused energies of the outer world, there is a tremendous amount of light. The Turning of the Ages encourages awakening, unconditional love, and the dissipation of karma. In the invisible world, there are many forces on our side. We only have to remember and open to them.

Small Tips:

  1. Ask to become aware of the magical, mystical energy. (The universe will hear you.)
  2. Spend more time focusing on the desired reality than ruminating about difficulties.
  3. When you can’t find a solution and feel overwhelmed by life, return to the heart space. Focus on pink light (unconditional love.)
  4. Send colors such as blue-green, pink, or white light to your problems or negative thoughts. Imagine the thoughts or problems are shrinking.
  5. Ask for the power and light of your inner self. (Repeat until the energy changes.)

Deepening Your Inner Connection

 

Our perception expands when we’re connected. Colors become brighter, love grows more intense, and opportunity beckons. Everything vibrates on a different rhythm. The universe responds, and life changes its course.

Here are a few tips for finding more of your inner connection:

  1. Focus on the beauty. Notice the variations of the sky, the touch of the wind, the color of the earth, the song of the birds, or the motion of the flowers. Watching and observing act to open the heart, allowing the inner voice (intuition) to speak.
  2. Meditate daily—and focus on your inner presence to find your way. Like a light in the darkness, it shines and points out the right direction. Sometimes, it’s only a step, but it eventually becomes a path.
  3. Release the noise. The part of you, which is not real, speaks in a loud voice. Let go of the roar. Observe whenever possible. Listen for the quiet, soft voice.
  4. Engage the imagination. (Imagination is part of creating your reality.) Imagine the next few hours as “better.” Imagine having an incredible connection with your inner self. Imagine something new and different.
  5. Remember the love. Send love to yourself. (Try pink light if it feels difficult.) Think of the people who love you, the animals that fall at your feet, and how love looks when reflected on the face of a “beloved.” (The whole universe is based on love; it’s the light that dances with matter.)
  6. Trust and move into the unknown. It’s a human tendency to repeat the “known.” Sometimes, the unknown contains gestalt answers—insights, which can totally change your perception. It’s okay not to know. Embrace it. (The universe is on your side.)
  7. Watch the energy. Energy changes in accordance with our moods and thoughts. It alters in the presence of different people and situations. It can reflect our past, or it can change in a few seconds and present a new paradigm. Energy accumulates through right action and meditation. Listen to your inner guidance. Take the small steps, which seem inconsequential. (Barbara Brennan related a message from her guides to remove a large stick from the path behind her house. Everything turned haywire until she cleared the path.) Small steps accumulate and eventually tilt the balance into greater consciousness, power, and awareness.
  8. Your inner self is a reflection of the soft, quiet voice, the beauty of nature, and the wonderful realities that you imagine.
  9. Trust the process. Inner work will eventually lead to a higher, happier state of being.

Mastering Fear

 

Alchemy states that mastery occurs through the emotions. BKS Inyengar said, “To master fear is the important battle to win.” Ultimately, we must master fear to create a life on a higher level. There are actually good reasons for feeling fear. We often feel fear when we act on the heart because the world teaches us to go in the opposite direction (away from the inner self. The outer world of duality resists the motion of wholeness associated with finding the inner self.

Yet, nothing is as fulfilling as connecting with the inner self, and life changes when we live from the heart. We learn to identify the energy associated with our soul. We gain awareness of energy as a whole and learn how it resonates with us. We learn how to create our inner desires, find our gifts, and share them with others.

1) When we step into the light, it involves a leap.  Fear can feel very real when the universe calls. It means letting go of our current life and believing whatever appears will work. It’s not easy, and the ego often feels resistance (or fear) about taking a big leap. It’s normal to feel afraid, uneasy, or agitated before taking a step, and we have to trust the universe. (The universe always has a bigger, better plan. Visualize each step and the desirable outcome.) 

2)  The outer world does not encourage the huge wave of awakening. When we expand into our inner self, we can receive a wave of fear from mass consciousness (the lower emotions of the world at large.) If we focus on the inner self as often as possible, we will find a way to move through the resistance. (It’s not easy, but you can move through it by using your will and determination.)

3)  It’s easier to feel fear about our destiny than it is to take a step. (The same is true about improving an aspect of our lives. We often have resistance about creating a better life.) “Destiny’, which is simply the soul’s path—the universe’s way of choosing experiences of teaching us to move into a higher place of being. It’s easiest to begin with a desire of the heart. Learn how to use tools such as visualization, positive thoughts, and the power of love.  Study angels, read books, and practice changing how you see your life. (There is a great network of “love”, which will support you.)

4)  The pressure and feeling of fear will lessen when you decide to move in the direction of the soul. The pressure lessens as you listen and commit to your inner self. 

5) Moving into awakening can bring feelings of uncertainty to the surface. While we may feel unhappy in our experience of “reality”, relinquishing control can feel difficult. We have expectations of how life should look and feel. It means we have work to develop hidden aspects of ourselves and look at the parts of us, which are involved in our patterns. Control comes from the ego. Allow your “reality” to rearrange itself in a new manner. 

6) When we step into heightened intuition, it can take time to distinguish between the soul and ego—and to have a consistent feeling of direction. (This can feel frightening.) The inner self asks us to listen with the heart. It means following intuition or inner guidance as opposed to the voice of the outer world. This may feel strange or uncomfortable in the beginning. Often, the directions don’t make sense. Over time, we learn to trust the inner voice and distinguish feelings and direction.

NOTE:

After every leap, we trust our inner voice more. But it’s only in the area of the jump. There’s still more ground to cover.  We often feel the resistance of the lower self and the world, but it passes. Part of this is learning to believe in the inner self, the true part of the self. (We also have to believe in the universe’s ability to support us—or faith.) Over time, these changes lead us into love and connection.

Finding Gratitude

 

The concept of gratitude emerged around a decade ago. Introduced by Stacey Robyn (Go Gratitude), Ester and Jerry Hicks, and discussed in the movie, The Secret, it was touted as a system of creating more good in life. Obviously, gratitude is important, but it’s like so many things–a practice to reap “good” or abundance doesn’t work. (Initially, I remember spending an hour looking around the room while notating items for the expression of gratitude.)

There’s an easier and better method of practicing gratitude. Once you find the missing piece, the practice becomes easy and rewarding. It does reap benefits, but you tend not to care.

Easy Steps For Feeling More Gratitude

1) Nothing truly works without spiritual connection. Connection is the point. Start with meditation, and see where your consciousness moves. Notice how life feels lighter, and everything responds to your deepened state of being. Noticing and observing invoke a state of gratitude.

2) While connected, notice the motion of your consciousness. When you are connected outdoors, you hear the wind more succinctly. You notice the movement of the trees. You hear the birds. You feel the blessing of life. When you are indoors, you may feel the quietness and calm of your meditation. Notice the direction of your senses and the more pleasing objects in the room. (These are blessings. Give thanks.)

3) When you feel strong, happy, or loved, expand the feeling. Imagine more of the feeling, which amplifies the vibration. Amplifying the vibration leads to expansion in life. Expansion and connection are interrelated.

4) When life is moving well, comment to yourself about the feeling of your life. Notice your practices and note your connection. Part of gratitude is simply noticing your blessings.

5) When your efforts make a positive difference, thank the universe. You experience the “good” as part of your connection with the Divine. The same is true with the higher aspects of the self.

6) When you are in a higher state, you naturally notice the good in life. The movement of the mind into the flow of goodness marks a higher state of consciousness. Pay attention. When your attention rests on the good in life, this is a state of gratitude. (Your inner dialog is a good indication of your state of mind.)

Using Gratitude with Problems

It’s the opposite of the practice listed above. The idea is not to notice good things; it’s about changing your focus when you think about problems. Everyone thinks about problems with negative thoughts and emotions—even positive people do this.

Problems are simply where we need more energy or a different type of energy. Energy can include a change in physical routine, a new belief, feeling, or changing the lens of your focus.

  • Remember, you are a creator. You can change your reality by altering your vision and perception of life. You may not know how to do it, but you have the capacity. At least, you can create change. You can feel grateful about your capacity to alter your life, and take a minute or two to see or feel it differently.
  • When you think life is not going well, notice what is okay or bearable. Put your attention on what’s working. Maybe, you don’t have time to do all of your work. But you can do some of it. Notice what you have completed and bless it—or give thanks. In this way, you amplify the good. (When you can’t figure out the next step, visualize it and give thanks for your inner ability.)
  • When you argue with people, remember you have the ability to send light, calm your feelings, or come up with another solution. You can move back into your self-worth and remember what you like about yourself. (If you can, recall what you do like about the other person.) Love is a very special quality of the universe, which changes much of life. When you move back into a state of love, life alters. Thank the universe for the opportunity.
  • If you’ve practiced spiritual work, you know how to center. Everything changes when you center your attention on the presence of your inner self. You will feel grateful without any effort when you achieve it.
  • When you have a difficult day, think about the days that go well. (You’re actually giving gratitude for those times while pushing your energy in the direction of positivity.) Whenever you feel overwhelmed by a problem, notice what isn’t wrong. (If the cake falls, I can make another one or buy one—at least. Maybe, I have to take the animals to the vet, but it’s for a check-up, and nothing’s wrong.) You’re diverting your attention from the problem into the goodness of the moment. It works.

One of the greatest gifts of all is our ability to change our consciousness through connection. It’s a great blessing!
